  1. Tanfoglio factory mag next to CZ factory mag: The mag release notches are in a slightly different position, but I don't know if it's enough to matter; the CZ mag locks into my Uzi Eagle and my small frame Tanfo just fine. I'm shooting at lunch, so I'll confirm it works OK. The biggest discrepancy is with a MecGar (there actually isn't any identification on it, so I don't know what brand it is...) mag I had to grind out to work in my UE, but probably would have had to for a CZ too!
  2. A CZ75 mag worked in your large frame Tanfo??? I know the CZ97B mag is the same as the large frame, but I never tried to mix small/large frame parts. I have a MecGar mag for the CZ, I modified to work in my small frame Tanfo, stock CZ75B and stock Tanfo small frame mags at some, so I'll take some pictures and measurements after work.
  3. The mag release notch is slightly higher on a Tanfo mag than a CZ mag, so if you use a Tanfo mag in a CZ, there will be a small gap between the base pad and the bottom of the frame like Nealio described; I have actually had problems in a match from this because when I jammed the mag in, it bounced back past the mag catch. To lock a CZ mag into Tanfo you have to remove that same amount of material from the top of the notch, once you do this, they will no longer lock up tight in a CZ.
  4. You are correct, yours is a Limited Minor gun, sort of a lost soul... The original owner may not have had USPSA in mind when he converted it, but if I had such a beast, I would convert it back to DA and shoot it in Production.
  5. I've only felt the mag release with my left hand when I grip the front of the trigger guard with my left index finger. What does your grip look like? Have someone to take a picture?
  6. I hesitated and missed out on this one: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=170367 but if I'm patient, I'm sure another opportunity will arise.
  7. Thanks guys, but the closest ICORE club is three hours away, so I'll be shooting USPSA.
  8. That's a good guess Marv; unfortunately I fear "normal prices" are nothing more than a memory as these panics tend to have a ratcheting effect (I kick myself for not stocking up on AR15s in college when they were $300!).
  9. In the last two weeks, I've placed three orders for powder which read "in stock", had my card charged, gotten a confirmation email, then a second email saying my order was canceled... Not fun.
  10. I made my order on 3/3 and got an email saying they were in stock with an expected delivery date of 3/12; fingers crossed...
  11. Once I got my hands on a SA CZ, there was no going back! If you like Limited, you'll LOVE the Tactical Sport.
  12. Bear Hunter, You could get a Gold Team conversion upper in 9mm, but personally I would skip all the holes in the barrel and get a 9mm standard length slide, a straight barrel and thread it for a 2011 comp, like this ThunderComp for sale in the classifieds: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=170126&view=getnewpost I talked in more detail about my dream Tanfo in this thread: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=167175
  13. I'll try to keep a civil tone, but I really do want to know: does a longer OAL increase or decrease pressure? I'm just trying to get started in reloading, and since I don't have any primers, I can't run my own tests, so I'm looking to people I suspect know what they're doing to give me solid advice.
  14. The variety in the lineup among the top shooters indicates that it is possible to win with damn near anything, but what matters is what helps you shoot better. I know for me, I can shoot an A with a Glock, but YUK! I throw up in my mouth a little every time I pull the trigger. There is nothing but CZ and Tanfoglio for me; they just feel right and yes, Angus gives me a real broner!
  15. Compressed charge minor load? What about a double charge?
  16. The parts in the photo, from left to right are: disconnector (used in DA), firing pin block, the disconnect or pin (???), firing pin block lifter, hammer spring, trigger, and fiber optic front sight.
  17. Single action Shadows are not production legal, you could convert it back to DA and shoot Production, shoot Limited Minor or install a comp and a dot to shoot Open.
  18. Thanks for the replies gentlemen, I know if I'm patient I'll come across the right setup. The GP100 goes back in the nightstand where it belongs; maybe I'll pull it out for some steel...
  19. I've never taken note of the times others shoot during a match, isn't it a lot of extra mental work?
  20. They also sell a Limited conversion with the cone fit barrel which should drop in. Are you considering a compensated upper too?
  21. That's interesting on the Hunter, I seems like an extra manufacturing step when you would think just a longer spring would work. Isn't the longer recoil system part of the appeal of a 6" gun?
