  1. The stock springs seem to be in the 16~17# range, I've found the best way to determine relative spring weight is to measure coil diameter; I don't know what rating they all are, I just know this one is heavier/lighter than that one.
  2. I also loaded a hand full of Production loads using 700X and Unique for testing tomorrow.
  3. Oh man!!! I'm obsessed with the competition frame: sharp checkering, flared mag well, and that long, smooth beaver tail...
  4. Confirmed. My round nosed loads put them all in a quarter at 10 yards, then opened up to a tennis ball at 25, although I don't think that's going to hold me back in my local match tomorrow; 25 yards shots are few and far between.
  5. It's not the crono, you have to get the lighting accessory to make it work indoors.
  6. No, it's a division. USPSA has six divisions: Open, Limited, Limited 10, Production, Single Stack and Revolver. When you get a classification, you will be a D/C/B/A/M/GM class shooter. Hope that helps. Oh yea, I'm dying to get my hands on a Stock II 9mm!
  7. I recently shot a classifier match in Open and Production; it was my first time shooting my box stock 75B and I beat my Open score by 14%! I had some light strikes and some cases of slide lock mid mag and I just fell apart. Then I would change belts and everything was just fine. Totally weird...
  8. I think he meant call EAA. They're pretty much the only source for parts in the US.
  9. There's some variation between frames, my Match is super tight.
  10. I'm all amped up about using light bullets in my compensated guns, but I never though to try them in a non compensated one; I've been pretty happy with heavy bullets for Production and Limited. What powder do you use on those loads?
  11. Thanks for the heads up Doug, I'll load a handful tonight and shoot groups at 25 yards tomorrow.
  12. Thanks, I know exactly what you're talking about because that's what I shoot right now! I shoot a CZ Open gun of my own creation with a three port comp which was advertized as 9mm, but has exit holes which measure .4125" (obviously .40) and 135gr bullets over 7gr of HS6. I realize I need more gas, so I'm experimenting with lighter bullets and working on a better comp.
  13. I'm looking for some advice: I've been shooting 9 Major from my CZ Open gun using 135gr bullets over 7gr of HS6; it's soft shooting, but certainly not flat. I also tried these loads in my Tanfoglio with 12 barrel ports and they're even worse, so I tried a 100gr bullet over 9gr of SP2 and WOW! I realize I'll have a hard time making Major with 100gr bullets, but I won't have 115s for a month, so I'm OK with shooting Minor for the time being. The only thing I'm worried about is the steel, will a 100gr bullet traveling 1470fps knock the plates off a Texas Star? I'm shooting a match Saturday and it won't be any fun if the bullets are bouncing off the steel (I watched a guy with an Open Glock shooting Minor 115s empty a whole mag on the Star and it just smiled back).
  14. I'd like to hear someone who has shot two similar pistols, one in 9mm and one in .40 describe the difference in feel???
  15. I handled Eric's grips and they're pretty thin.
  16. Yes on both counts. WWB should work fine, might be a little hotter than you want though. I though you said you were going to reload? The new K40 MecGar mags run perfectly with factory length loads. Henning Henning BladeTech holster and CR Speed Versa pouches It will work, but only with stock springs, light springs = light strikes. Lighter muzzle and longer sight radius on the Limited Pro. Different strokes for different folks.
  17. You need to measure to the top of the lips on back of the mag, it looks like you're in the notch.
  18. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=361152591 There are no .40s to be had, but since you're comparing it to a G34 maybe 9mm will fit the bill?
  19. I fired roughly 2K of them before I started reloading and never had a compliant; super accurate with soft primers. Two years ago I was getting 9mm for 10¢/round and 40 for 13¢. The 40 is a little hot (180-185pf).
  20. If I were you, I'd set the 3.8 loads aside for now and load ten each: 3.2, 3.4, 3.6 and crono those to get a baseline.
  21. Stock FP and spring although this ammo was BVAC and I think they use Federals, plus I have a TS hammer installed on that one fwiw (I guess I should weigh some hammers next time I get the chance).
  22. The hammer spring has little effect on SA pull weight, polishing internals, a CGW reduced power trigger return spring and light trigger plunger spring are much more effective. With the hammer spring you could go as light as 13# and you shouldn't have a problem although it will give the break a mushy feel. I run an 18# spring for a crisp break and a snap of the hammer.
