    cz 85 combat

Hammer down, but please don't take our word for it, see 8.1.2.3 and Appendix D4 in the rulebook
  4. That's interesting , did EAA tell you that? IFG has the same address and same phone number as EAA...
  5. Drop checking is when you remove the barrel from your pistol, drop a round in the chamber and spin it to be sure the bullet isn't touching the rifling, if it doesn't spin you need to reduce the length of your cartridge. Every barrel is slightly different, even in the same brand pistol so you should chamber check every different bullet profile you plan to use.
  6. I dump it back in the original container since I have many similar looking powders.
  7. The Blade Tech is better than everything I've tried, just get it.
  8. Scotch tape, I make the piece smaller and smaller to ween myself into shooting both eyes open.

Smitty, it's one of those things: the Shadows and pre B 75/85 pistol came from the factory without blocks so they're legal in Production, but a 75B with the block removed is illegal.
  10. I'd be interested to hear what he says, although he seem pretty rigid in the emails I've read.
  11. Unless you want to spend more on the rig than you spent on the gun I suggest some iTac or Target Sports Tactical stuff from CDNN Investments
  12. I bought a used Match with Henning trigger and pin installed so I don't know how old it is. I used the parts on my Hunter Open gun which I shot for the first time over the weekend; while cleaning I noticed it broke off on the threaded side. Has anyone else had one break? Do you tighten yours? Or use loctite?
  13. Word to the wise: don't order anything off the website, it will be wrong. You have to call armed with your serial number and the knowledge of exactly what you want. If you have questions ask them here.
  14. I also bought a Mossad off GB and really enjoyed it, if yours is anything like mine, just replace all the springs and it'll run like new. Unfortunately the 'Mossad' is not on the Production list, but since its physically identical to the Witness steel, I would be surprised if anyone hassled you. Although mine came with the firing pin block removed, which is also illegal in Production. Personally I go back and forth on whether I care if the pistol I'm shooting in Production is technically legal as long as it meets the intent. It seems a little silly that a $2,500 Custom Shadow without a firing pin block is legal for production, but a $300 Witness with the firing pin block removed is not.
  15. The squib stops the shot process for you; the slide won't cycle after a squib, the way you get in trouble is when you rack out the squib case and fire another behind it.
  16. So they told you it will have polished sides just like your Match???
  17. There is a difficult balance between incentivizing volunteers and discouraging paying shooters; everything costs money so everything you give away must come out of the pockets of the shooters. How much are your match fees now? Maybe once a month I go to a match at one of two locations one entry is $17, the other is $35. I help out about the same at each, but the $35 match has more cool targets (Texas Stars, drop turners, etc.), larger stages and a higher round count; I would say I prefer the $35 match.
  18. Since the rails on a CZ are much longer, there's more metal in contact; the racking can be made smoother with 2000 grit sandpaper or Slide Guide
  19. Your pictures seem to confirm what I said earlier. I once read all new barrels are sized to be fit by filing on the breech. But don't take my word for it, coat the barrel with blue dykem and see where it rubs. http://m.grainger.com/mobile/details/?R=2C945
  20. This thread sparked my interest in putting on a match at my local club, so I tabled the idea in our forum; there was some excitement, as well as safety concerns. We shoot at an indoor range with roughly 15 yards by about 30 yards wide of usable range, is the a way to host a match safely in this space? The big concern is ricochets. I've also read a variety of rules online. To the guys who shoot them, is there a minimum caliber? I've seen major/minor pin placement, but it seems like a pain. A big concern is that a bunch of shooters show up with factory 115gn 9mm loads and can't get a single pin off the table.
  21. OK, I think I get it now. When I've bought new barrels from CZ, they come long from the breech face of the barrel to the locking lugs on top of the barrel. When you put the barrel in the slide, it won't go back far enough to lock into the slide so it just slides forward free, does this sound like your problem? The new CZ barrels were intended to be fit tight to the slide by filing the breech end of the barrel until it fit. Perhaps this is the same situation???
