  1. If you can find the right pistol in the right caliber, although lucky for you, the EAA market is a 10mm fan's dream right now! Hunters in 10mm, Stock II's in 10mm, it's just silly!
  2. I'll agree, but with 46 vehicles to worry about, I'm not interested in projects. I've got enough of those in my gun safe!
  3. I'm not sure it's entirely EAA's fault, but they're definitely a part of the problem. I don't know how their deal with Tanfoglio is set up, but it seems they just send parts to the US pretty randomly. EAA is a shoebox company so I don't really expect them to have tons of money tied up in spare parts inventory which could go obsolete at any moment. They don't want to take your order and charge your card because there's really no telling if they will ever get that particular part; if they don't charge your card, there's a good chance you change your mind and they get stuck with it. I have a wish list at EAA and I randomly get calls to tell me they have this that or the other in stock, do I want it? More often than not, those parts were for a project idea I had a year ago and I've since gone another direction. The arrangement is totally bizarre and unlike any other I know of, but that makes it kind of fun if you ask me! When I started my Tanfo obsession I was frustrated like you, but now it's a game
  4. +1, the Ford 6.0l diesel is trash, stay away! I run a construction company with 21 diesel 1 ton service trucks since '99; prior to '99 we had gas 350s which needed new motors every 60K miles. The two '99s are still running strong, both with over 300K miles on them. Today we have 18 Fords and 3 Chevys, we started experimenting with the Chevys in 2008 because we could get them for ~$3K less than the Fords and the 6.0l motor gave us so much trouble. The Chevys have worked flawlessly. Once upon a time we had some trouble with gas tank liners, but that's further back than you're talking about.
  5. I disagree. I don't think it's possible to go too fast, perhaps "when shooting classifiers I focus on speed and everything else goes to shit" would be a more appropriate title to this thread?
  6. Here's my load data for the CZ:
  7. Pay no mind to the 180 violations...
  8. With over travel screw: http://czcustom.com/CZ85Combattrigger.aspx or without: http://shop.cz-usa.com/P-0460011301/Trigger-Cz-97.aspx
  9. Here are some pictures: Shadow before: Shadow after:
  10. I have the same issue with recurve triggers, the CZ97B trigger is the solution. CZ uses smaller pins so the holes need to be drilled out, but it's perfect for a longer reach with less curve.
  11. If you have access to SP2 you're in luck as it's considered my many the very best powder for 9 Major. I'm in a nearly identical situation: I started with 135gr bullets and was unhappy with the muzzle flip and realized I was starving the comp of gas, so I got some 100gr bullets to max out the gas and WOW! 10gr of SP2 pushes a 100gr bullet at 1650fps and makes major in my CZ. the only problem is the rounds are a little short so I had a handful of misfeeds in a 250 round match. A buddy took video of a run with no malfunctions, I'll post it today so you can see how flat it is. I'm getting some 115s this week which should strech out the OAL and eliminate the feed issues.
  12. The Match sight won't fit your dovetail, Limited is the one for you, although I prefer the fixed rear from the CZ Tactical Sport, it sticks straight up so you can use it to rack the slide. The dovetail on the TS is roughly 0.3mm wider than the Super Sight, so it has to be filed a bit to fit.
  13. Yes, there are small frame pistols and large frame pistols, that's the only difference you need to worry about. I've only held one Stock III and it was a small frame. Henning sells parts for both sizes. The triggers, hammers and springs are all the same; grips, mags, firing pins, mag wells, slides and barrels are different. Does that answer your question?
  14. I'm a member at the American Shooting Center, it's two block from my office so I shoot at lunch.
  15. I don't know what this question means??? Are you curious which conversion kits will fit your Stock III?
  16. Are you working with a Crono?
  17. I had the same thought once, but my experience proved otherwise; there are some comp which had an effect, others none whatsoever (I've tried seven of them on three different pistols).
  18. If you don't care how flat it shoots, why bother with a comp? you could just put a dot on your Limited gun and shoot it. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm serious: loads designed for a non-comp'd pistol will likely jump just as much with or without the comp. I've never tried it with .40, but I have shot factory 9mm though my Open gun with and without the comp and I can't tell the difference.

  20. ^+1^ Hey, a Glock is reliable, I can shoot tight groups with a Glock, the only trouble is that I throw up in my mouth a little every time I pull the trigger I shoot CZ pattern pistols because I prefer the slide-in-frame design
  21. Selling your TS and buying a Czechmate is certainly the easier way to go; my project is a labor of love and I've done all the work myself, but it's not quite perfect just yet. Not including my labor (lots of it), I barely saved any money over just buying a Czechmate, although I do have a .40 top end/mags for Limited Major and some great experiences.
  22. It's a long story, but I've had some correspondence with both CZ USA and CZ UB and been told it will be fixed in the 2014 catalog.
