  1. Update: the seller got back to me and was a bit irritated with my tone, but after a quick conversation let me know he plans to pull the auction, get the build sheet from CZC and re post with a scan of it
  2. So I have a badass 6" Tanfoglio which drives tacks, but rattles ever so sliggtly when you shake it. I know it's not that big a deal, but it just makes it less than perfect. The slide and frame still need finishing (slide is in the white and frame is factory blued); I'd love to do hard chrome, but I'm worried it'll still be loose so I'm thinking Cerakote, but I don't have any experience with it. How smooth will it cycle with it on the rails? If it gets too thick will it break in?
  3. Factory ammo will work fine with the new mags
  4. I shot a 19 based Open gun once, it was awesome, but it felt like it was coming apart with major ammo
  5. As many of you know, I am a big fan of the CZ75 platform pistols but something CHA-LEE said a few months back is something which cannot be ignored when comparing the two platforms:
  6. That's high praise coming from you schmeky , thank you
  7. The difference is huge! A factory Hunter weighs 3.6oz more than a Limited and it's all in the nose. I shed 1.7oz from the slide and 1.1oz from the frame for a fighting weight of 43.4oz, just 0.8oz heavier than the Limited, but better balanced if you ask me Now for the slide: the factory Hunter slide weighs 15.1oz (fully dressed), the Limited slide weighs 12.5oz and my new 6" slide weighs 13.4oz, but with more than a half ounce out of the rear and the added leverage of an inch and a quarter more barrel, I think it shoots noticibly flatter.
  8. Not really, you're pretty much on your own.

    SP01 magwell ?

I don't know anything about IDPA, but mag wells are not legal in Production.
  10. I'm confused, what's a "full on Limited gun"?

    SP01 magwell ?

I have a CZ UB mag well which works with standard mags:
  12. Lower the PF. Longer OAL means more volume, less pressure, less velocity. That being said, powders do funny things once you just them out of their useful range...
  13. Calling an SP01 with a few simple upgrades a Shadow is a flat out lie. Seeing as though Shadows are hot USPSA Production division guns and this gun is not Production legal, this seller should be tarred and feathered!!!
  14. Come on Barron, I saw it minutes after he posted , but amazingly I'm going to pass on this one
  15. I shoot all Xtreme RN with the standard plating in my Open guns and haven't had any issues with the plating coming off even pushing the 100gr bullets up to 1,650; I regularly shoot the 115s over 1,500.
  16. Because it powerful enough to kill small animals for food, yet light enough to carry in large quantities. Imagine what 1,000 rounds of 223 would feel like in your backpack
  17. I have used the SpringCo on my CZs and Tanfoglios, but didn't care for it. I found the difference to be barely detectible and at that I didn't like the difference I felt (a little bouncy).
  18. Thanks for those calculations John, I just wanted to add something to what you said about the rotational motion during recoil: I was not very happy with my first attempt at lightening a Limited slide where I took 1.8oz out of the front of the slide, but my second attempt took 0.5 oz from the rear, 1.2oz from the front and I couldn't be happier with it! I think this has everything to do with the geometry of your wrist and weight of the portion of the slide which crosses that fulcrum point. Anyone thinking of having their slide weight reduced, please take a look at this thread by CHA-LEE (Real testing and feedback on Slide Lightening) it's the best I've read on the subject.
  19. and here's a burn rate chart for you: http://www.hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html
  20. Power factor is a momentum formula (mass times velocity), not an energy formula (mass times velocity squared); the muzzle energy of a light bullet like 115gr @ 1,435fps is more than double the muzzle energy of a heavy bullet like a 230gr @ 718fps (536ft.lbf vs 263ft.lbf) at the same PF. I don't think anyone would argue with the statement that a 230gr bullet traveling 718fps shoots softer than a 115gr bullet traveling 1,435fps from the same pistol, but plenty here will argue that muzzle energy is not a good predictor of recoil impulse and since I'm not a professional physicist I try not to engage in such debates. Reducing a concept like recoil "feel" to a simple calculation is a very difficult task so I think I'm in the majority when I say anecdotal evidence is good enough to conclude heavier bullets at lower velocities shoot softer in non-compensated pistols (gas volume is the name of the game once you introduce a comp, so more powder equals more gas).
