  1. Welcome! At least you're not addicted to buying Open guns
  2. "You just broke into the wrong goddamn rec room you sonofabitch!" As a kid I was in love with Reba MacIntyre
  3. I've built and experimented with a lot of Open guns and loads from 135s out of a 54oz gun with a 5.1" barrel (softest) to 115s out of a 44oz gun with a 4" barrel (most violent) and I think I lean towards the lighter, faster guns.
  4. I love that comp Jared! I think you could add a lot of value to this discussion if you talked about the previous comps you've tried; I'm sure everyone and there brother wants you to shoot their gun and tell them what you think right?
  5. I have the large for .40, but I will try cleaning first since ideally I'd like the 38/9 swap to just be the tool head.
  6. Yes, file the inside so it reaches in further.
  7. I'll bet just the tip of the extractor is grabbing the rim of the 9mm brass so a new extractor with modification to reach further towards the firing pin is in order.
  8. Henning called today and said these were small frame mag wells they opened up, but missed those nubs, so he's going to get them reworked then start shipping them again.
  9. Just out of curiosity, am I the only one that reads "Price: $326.98" when I click the link above? Did they raise the price for every IP or just mine?
  10. Damn Nick, that's some shop You aren't taking on one off machining jobs are you?
  11. I bought a used toolhead set up with Lee dies for 38 super (my press was set up for 9mm from the factory) and once I got the dies set I loaded a few dozen rounds last night and had issues with the cases not dropping out of the swing arm (casefeed adapter?) at the bottom of the case feed tube; I figured I needed new adapters for 38 super but the manual says they're the same as 9mm, what gives?
  12. Speaking of KC's Glock... Looks like it's sitting in the safe for the world shoot
  13. To rail or not to rail, that is the question. In my opinion this is more important than the block/no block issue because with my handy little guide here (CZ Tuning 101 with Professor Atlas) and some CGW parts you can get a great trigger with a block equipped gun. Most people like the rail because it shoots a hair softer, but the no rail models trade a little more muzzle flip for less weight. Keep in mind these are differences of a tiny degree, it's not like a Stock II vs Glock 17 You will most likely be happy with either, but if you favor the soft push of 147s over the snap of 124s I recommend the rail, be it the base SP01 or the SP01 Shadow Target.
  14. I shot a match once in Open minor using 100gr bullets at ~150pf, I was worried about steel, but they dropped like a rock!
  15. Great writeup! I have quite a few CZ75 pattern pistols and the TS stands above the rest trigger wise, although to checkering on the frame leaves much to be desired.
  16. Thanks guys, I've got my first batch loaded already. There's a Facebook group called the reloading room and someone answered both questions within a few min. The internet is a beautiful thing In case anyone us curious in the future, set nuts on the bottom and with the Lee Factory Crimp die, the die goes down to the shell plate and the small knob sets the crimp.
  17. Since there are no splits on steel, there's not really much benefit to a flat Open gun.
  18. I'm setting up my new to me Lee 38 super dies on my Dillon 650, I've only ever used Dillon dies so I'm llittle confused by the crimp die and the sizing die: I assume the inner part of the crimp die just unscrews for cleaning and that it should be screwed all the way in while loading right? So the Lee sizing die isn't long enough to size the whole case like the Dillon, am I missing something? How do I set the length? I always just run the Dillon die down until it touches the shell plate then back it off. Thanks
  19. The frame of the Match is chrome, not wonderfinish.
