  1. It's just one of those things, the guy who taught me to reload on a 550 just told me to pull ten cases out of station three and dump the powder back in the hopper, then weight the 11th charge, so that's what I did, then when I was setting up my own 650 it hit me like a ton of bricks: I could just remove the fail safe rod at work the powder throw by hand and I've found that the charge weight doesn't settle down until you throw 20-30 charges, ten didn't seem to be enough.
  2. Can you email me (kneelingatlas@gmail.com) a picture of what you have? I think I have a trigger which would better suit you. Also if you're looking for thin grips the CZ 75 grips will work for you.
  3. Welcome Robert Witnesses are not exact copies of the CZ 75, close but very few parts cross over without modification. First thing is to learn the terminology: Tanfoglio Glossary of Terms As far as parts go, Numrich is a good source for factory parts, Henning for aftermarket parts plus the Chop Shop for used parts and advice. What kind of modifications do you want to make?
  4. The IPSC Standard was an earlier version of the TS, they make a few modifications to help prevent cracking slides in the TS.
  5. I'm always puzzled by guys who talk about hiding guns from their wives, you do get to pick who you spend the rest of your life with, choose wisely!
  6. There is a pad at the sides of the breech face which needs to be filed to fit, I don't have a picture of a CZ barrel, but it in the same place as this EAA barrel so you get the idea:
  7. ^ wisdom ^ I'll add - don't be scared to get "too much gun" either, you'll waste tons of money buying guns you think you've "earned" before you byy the gun you want. Don't worry about guys who will look down on you for shooting a $5K Open gun as a C class shooter either, those guys are assholes anyway
  8. Find a Harbor Freight or a pet store near you
  9. This is it right here Once I started doing this I couldn't believe I ever measured one drop at a time. Another big time saver was when I realized I could remove the failsafe rod, work the powder drop manually and dump 20-30 charges in a few seconds before weighing my first ten.
  10. I love that 6" so much I might start shooting Limited!
  11. Hey, hey, you can take this chrono crap someplace else; last I checked, this thread was for porn!
  12. It would be called Production Optics... But without the capacity limit...
  13. The way I read Appendix D4, 21.4 I'd say CZ grips on a Tanfo are production legal
  14. I prefer to judge a shooter based on the content of his character rather than some assumptions I've made about his shooting skills
  15. The peanut needs to be fit (or the tops of the lugs).
  16. CFE Pistol is a new offering from Hodgdon which shows promise for 9 Major; I have three pounds, but haven't had a chance to load any let. I've heard of people using AA#5 and AA#7. Just look at the burn rate chart: http://www.hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html Anything from True Blue to Longshot will likely work.
  17. I like to hear guys talking about "mowing down a classifier", like it's something you can just decide to do
  18. I've rolled the dice for zero or hero a few times, but it's come up snake eyes every time
