  1. What Eric N said . . . Also, I take pliers to all my mag releases. I pinch them so they don't stick out as much from the side of gun.
  2. Tell me about it. I am self employeed and pay about $800 a month for insurance for my family of 4.
  3. I like to use Thermold mags when monopoding. My theory (and I'm sticking to it) is that the ridge on the Thermold under the mag well keeps the mag in proper postion while monopoding. However, the Arrendondo monopoding-base pad thingy (which I really like) doesn't fit the Thremolds. Anyone know of a ranger plate that fits a Thermold that I could use to give some height while monopoding? Thx.

    Open Steel

Looks great. Is that a S&J mount?
  5. I always enjoy your posts!
  6. Midway has "British 5.56x45mm (223 Remington) SS109 62 Grain XM855 NATO Headstamp FMJ" on sale for $200/1,000. Anyone shoot it before? Any good? Question #2: will a 1/12 stabilze a 62 grain bullet? Thanks.
  7. The 24/7 seemed to really flip in the video with Taran.
  8. John, On my LTD G22 I use the Sevigney Competition sights. I really like the wide notch rear. On my LTD G35 I use a Heinie rear (I opened up the rear notch) and a .110 Dawson FO front sight. As long as you don't switch loads/bullet weights, it's not a problem.
  9. Some modify the load gate to avoid the "Benelli thumb." My M1S90 is completely stock and runs like a top. I rarely clean it. I do plan to send it to Benny to get the stock shortened about an inch though.
  10. I hope you took your lighter to the concert - a must-have for an 80s concert!
  11. You forgot to thank the Academy too You've been shooting very strong 3G and I'm sure you would have placed high - too bad. As a mtter of fact, the only time I beat you was when you DQ'd at South River. Thank you
  12. Any other suggestions on alternative bullet weights for my 1/12 twist barrel? Thanks.
  13. My favorite upper has a Colt 20” 1/12 twist lightweight barrel (a/k/a pencil barrel). I mostly shoot XM193 out of it with good results. I sometimes shoot GA ARMS “Precision Plus” 55 grain rounds on the longer range stages. There’s discussion on another thread that a 55 grain round won’t reliably knock down a LaRue target at 250+ yards with a center hit. There’re supposed to be some of those shots at Ft. Benning this December. Assuming that’s true, what will reliably knock down a LaRue target at 250+ that I can shoot our of my 1/12 barrel? Thanks.
  14. Nice grip and stance Bruce!
  15. I agree with the 10 round mag issue. My CZ - V22 has been flawless though - even with cheap ammo. Ditto. Rich Now if we only had hi cap mags for it . . .

  17. I have one of the CZ V-22 uppers and love it. My only beef is that it only has 10 round mags and extra mags cost $30. I would shoot it a lot more if it had hi cap mags.
  18. I ride the reset. I use 5# connnectors in order to get a shorter reset as compared to a 3.5# connector. I know Sevigeny rides the reset and preps the trigger because I did some trainng with him. That doesn't mean it's right for you though. Practice, compare and make up your own mind.
  19. Because we are so dependant on foreign oil, we make our enemies rich by buying their oil. IMO, the issue is not just economic – but has become one of national security. I read that Brazil uses fuel made from sugar cane. In the US, we’ve talked for decades about ethanol made from corn, but nothing real has become of it. I voted for Bush (twice), but this is an issue on which he’s thoroughly disappointed me (immigration too). He spends time and energy talking about gay marriage while not doing a damn thing about this issue. That makes me conjure up some conspiracy theories . . . IMO, the President and Congress should pass tax incentives and DISINCENTIVES for the oil and the automobile companies to develop and implement a real alternative fuel. Unless forced, these companies will not move away from oil.
