  1. +1 Please give us a quick overview of the scoring you'll be using.
  2. Competition in the marketplace is good for buyers!
  3. I think I got one of the earlier production models because I have no internal lock on my M&P. Good!
  4. Yeah - not bad for a beginner! I score clays like I score my golf game - very liberally It was a 100 round course BTW

    Glock Holsters

J - that's a bummer that you don't like the holster. Holster selection is a personal thing and it's hard to know what you like until you wear it for a while. Yeah - the Mr. Softy really isn't a "tuckable" model where you can let the J clip show. I use it with an untucked shirt. The holster is somewhat hard to get off because it's a J clip - but that's a good thing in my mind. Some clip holsters will draw WITH the gun The Mr. Softy won't. Please explain your comment about Ohio law. Do you have a CCW license? So even with the CCW, you have to de-gun when you're in a car? If so, that sucks!
  6. Last weekend I attended a wedding in South Caroliina. Instead of the usual golfing outing, the guys shot sporting clays the day before the ceremony I've never shot sporting clays before. In fact, I’ve never shot trap, skeet or sporting clays. My only shotgun experience is three gun matches. I used by friend’s Browning “Light Twelve.” I really liked that gun. The round was fun, but humbling. I started catching on later in the round, but only hit 51. I could see how this could be an addictive sport. I have too many hobbies . . .
  7. I wonder if Glock will ever offer a interchangable backstrap like the CCF or the new S&W M&P. My guess is it would sell very well and many people who don't shoot Glocks because of the grip angle would try them.
  8. Z-Man, It's an easy job. I used Flitz and XRe's suggestion on the felt wheel (see that thread). Be patient and use a slow and smooth in-an-out motion. Please post your results and whether it solved your FTE's.
  9. A gun that fits the individual well will serve him better than a gun that does not. That concept is NOT mutually exclusive with the "it's the Indian, not the arrow" philosophy.
  10. I was having the same jams. First, check and see if the extractor claw is chipped. If not, then check this out: BE XD link BTW - the XD does not have an extractor spring.
  11. Mike- let us know what you find out. Thanks.
  12. This is an insightful comment IMO. Nope - the gun doesn't make you improve, but renewed interest and focus CAN help you improve. If a new gun does that for you, then great – do it. Also, if a certain gun points better and more naturally for you, then it could help improve your presentation, recoil management and transitions. Those are all good things.
  13. I just tried it and it works pretty well. I used a small button (because that’s what I found first). It’s like the button off a collar of a button-down shirt. I stuck it between the breach face and the barrel. Thanks for the tip.
  14. I shoot Tactical and really like my Benelli. I had an 1100, but I had to clean it once in a while. I almost never clean the Benelli and it keeps running! The last thing I need is another gun to clean . . .
  15. Thanks guys. BTW - Widget Supply is a great place to buy Dremel stuff Widget Supply
  16. UPDATE I polished the chamber last night and shoot about 320 rounds through the HS2000 this AM. The rounds were a combo of my reloads and Rem 115's. I had zero failures to extract! (knock on wood) What Dremel attachment did you use for polishing the chamber BTW? Thanks.
  17. UPDATE I polished the chamber last night and shoot about 320 rounds through the HS2000 this AM. The rounds were a combo of my reloads and Rem 115's. I had zero failures to extract! (knock on wood) I still need to find a better felt attachement for the Dremel for polishing. Any other recommendations?
  18. I use the Ghost Rocket 5# connector with the built-in overtravel stop. My reset is as short as a well tuned 1911 reset. In fact, the recoil of the gun resets the trigger without any conscious forward movement of the trigger by me. I've never had any light strikes, but I also use a stock striker spring.
  19. That's it! I'm having about a 1-2% failures to extract with my HS2000 (a/k/a XD). I swapped out a new extractor from a buddy's XD and still have FTEs. The chamber looks fairly rough, with visible rings in the chamber. I started polishing tonight with some Flitz and a bullet-shaped felt Dremel attachment. The felt bullet sometimes comes off the rod. I need to get another one to finish the job. I hope this helps . . . Thanks for the replies. Any other advice? Is there a better attachment to use? Thanks, Cy
  20. I want to polish the chamber of my 9mm XD. I assume I should use the Dremel and some Flitz - is that correct? What Dremel attachment do I need? Any other advice . . Thanks.
  21. I've shot about 800 rounds through the HS2000 and love it. Rich @ Canyon Creek did an excellent trigger job. It actually points better for me than the Glock. However, I'm getting failures to extract about about 2% of the time. The brass seems to completely stay in the chamber. The extractor claw looks fine. I'd love to shoot it in Production in the SC State match in a couple of weeks, but the FTE's are baffling me. Any suggestions?

    Diy Grip Reductions

Good looking stuff. However, ths is more stippling than actual grip reductions.
  23. I noticed the same thing. Based on my definition, that makes it a single action pistol. IDPA classified the XD as a single action for the same reason I believe (correct me if I'm wrong - I know you guys will ). As a result, you can't shoot an XD in SSP - but you can in USPSA Production. Behr - any light strikes?
  24. My detent broke in my Bushmaster. I can't see the quality of the part being much different as between different makers. The tip of the detent is small and thin and the buffer pounds it.
