  1. I just shot it cuz I had it on hand. Switching over to 9mm for comp loads and I just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong. Since no one said WOW!!!! I feel better about it. It's a brand new barrel so I wont worry about it.
  2. Below is a photo of fired brass from my Glock 34 KKM Match Barrel. The rounds are factory Win White Box 115 grain. I know the black is just soot and it is probably just what the barrel does. I would just like someone else to confirm that "that's how it's supposed to look" for me. It wipes right off and is only on one side.
  3. I dream about this for IDPA........ no troll just dreaming out loud!
  4. I don't think I'd flirt with a DQ for unsportsmanlike conduct over some dudes PF at a local match.
  5. That will keep those Production "gamers" over in that other sport! (Evil Villain laugh and sneer!)
  6. You would be required to shoot in 5.11 or underarmour gear, or get a procedural. And it has to be "Tan" none of that Desert crap and OD is a DQ. And its a FTDR if you nod when they say Shooter Ready? because your an Operator!
  7. The reason is that when IDPA was started most production and custom guns were not bull barrel guns. If bull barrels were suddenly allowed it would start an equipment race for any "perceived" advantage that a bull barrel has. This is how it was explained on the IDPA forum and you can look there for a better written answer to your question.
  8. Thanks that eases my mind. Now I get to work on 9mm
  9. I got it so I'd be sure what I was shooting in case of a chrono error at a match. It is a great tool for my reloading because it makes me think about it from a different angle.
  10. I am loading a 180 grain lead bullet over 2.8 to 3.0 grains of Clay. My lee measures on volume so it varies a little but usually what I measure when I spot check is 3.0. I load right off the Hodgdon data with COL at 1.125" and it gives 732 as the Velocity. I get an average of 793 for 10 shots at 10 feet. My question is does this seem reasonable from a Glock 35 with factory barrel? I know the longer barrel will give more fps since most data is taken from a 4 inch barrel (doesn't say on the site what they use so I just assume based barrel length from other manuals). But 61 fps more seems a little excessive to me but I could be wrong so that's why I am asking.
  11. If you weren't in a Go Fast team/squad you probably wont have much of a "brand". Ex GIs right now are everywhere and you really need something to stand out! Your best bet is probably to get hooked up with another company and try to pass their instructor tests. I know Suarez has this and Pincus does too.
  12. Shorts and a long shirt under a short shirt....... other than that, looks good.
  13. Matches are like Kindergarten......lots of snacks! I find I do better if I eat a pack of snack crackers every 2 stages or so.
  14. Wont really matter since the times are gonna be so dang close together for SSP and ESP. May as well add a few goodies and stay in ESP with the tricked out Glocks.
  15. 8 to 10 shooters in a squad if you wanna shoot 2 divisions just go 1st or 2nd then take your gear to a safe area and change belts and guns and shoot again at the end. How long does it take to run and score a run?
  16. I'd say they would just fail you on the Equipment check if the magnet didn't stick.
  17. The Dowel method has described in the draft rule book is pretty much what they been using for a long while. The current rule book says 3/4 of an inch and the dowel is the "tool" they use to measure that. There is a good thread on the IPDA forum about this.
  18. They are talking about behind the hip holsters where you point the muzzle rearward when going into or out of the holster.
  19. Yeah cuz the XD is such a strong gun in Production............
  20. Yeah......now you just have to reload before moving. Not sure if that trade off is a "win" How is that rule different than before? What did I miss? I understood you were never allowed to move from cover with an unloaded gun.The only reload change I saw was now it's legal to initiate a slide-lock reload in the open if that's where you run dry. Read R9.1 and R9.2 You can't move from position to another while reloading. Imagine a 8' wall where P1 is at one end and P2 is at the other. Even though you are behind cover the whole time you can't reload moving to P2. The long dreaded flat footed reload rule.
  21. Sounds like a fun place to shoot.
  22. I would love to build a completely dedicated open rig, but I'm in college, so the funds are tight. It will be cheaper for me to just assemble a new top end for the G34 I already own Just get a Gen 3 frame for $250. If $250 more breaks the bank maybe you should really rethinking shooting Open class.
  23. Yes but they've been hearing us for a while. Why do I have to cover the bottom part of my body? Why isn't my XDM in SSP? Why aren't DA/SA guns in one category, safe action in another? Why should I always have to cut the pie if the 2nd or 3rd guy has a more dangerous firearm? If I run really quick in front of that window, there is no way they can shoot me? Etc... Etc... Personally the rules are all fine for me, I shoot IDPA and USPSA, two different fun games, different rules. At least in IDPA production shooters are on an equal footing and overall classification makes sense. The only gripe I have agreed with so far is the XDm thing, but that's me. I've said it before in other threads, but just go with two semi-auto pistol divisions: MAJSAP: would be the major power factor semi-auto pistols, could be .38 Super, .40S&W, 10mm, .45 ACP, etc. etc. loaded to just 8+1. major PF floor would still be 165 MINSAP: mainly all the 9mm's, but .38 Supers, .40S&W, etc, etc, that could be loaded to 10+1 no attention is paid to the action type, doesn't matter if it is single action, DAO, DA/SA, "safe action", etc. also, change up the order of the classifier match "script" . one of the strings in stage 1 has you going forward to paste headshots that have dropped down into the body, IIRC. So you'd have everyone shooting wide body 1911s in both divisions huh? Sounds like ISPC.
