  1. We need to get rid of the term divisions and start calling them similars. Because that's what we keep making them. 15 round production? Why do we have to keep making everything easier?
  2. This thread is wonderful. A shining example of what's wrong with the sport.
  3. I don't see the point of shooting an 8 shot revolver. People wanted to reload less. Then why the F' would you shoot revolver? To me the whole point of the game was all the extra reloading! Want 8 rounds, shoot single stack. There are people who do things for the added challenge. Single stack is far and away my worst division, the reason I shoot it more than any other now (now that I gave up revolver) (I haven''t given up revolvers, I have dozen of them and shoot them more than anything else.)
  4. Not to everyone. To me an 8 shot revolver takes away the whole point.
  5. Aint pretty, but nobody sees it. I could have done a nicer/neater job and a more thorough job, but it was just to add a little buffer between me and the weight limit. I planned on eventually cleaning it up, but several years later it's still like that.
  6. I go to shoot things, not to not shoot things.
  7. When was the last time you saw someone reload and rack a live round out of the gun for no reason? That happens all the time. Maybe the shooter started to drop the mag, but it back in, rack the slide out if habit and shot? (probably unlikely if he "shot from hip" but who knows, one could argue it) I will say one thing I have done (more than once) was drop the mag to unload, noticed a Mike and fired the round in the chamber at the target with no mag in the gun. Granted I raised the gun and aimed....
  8. There used to be plenty of photos online of blown out primers and hammered case heads from shooting 40 in a 10. I suppose a lot depends on your gun itself and how tight your extractor holds it to the breach face. From what I've seen it's not something I'd want to do it I didn't have to.
  9. They all look like 45 or bigger when that happens.
  10. Pouring it on the ground in a long line and lighting it on fire is fun to do too one time if you've never done it before. Not the best thing for your lawn though.
  11. Good idea or not isn't the question. lol Nor is good/bad stage design.
  12. Does the book say targets have to be outside the FFZ? (serious question)
  13. But if you're past the line, yet still outside the minimum distance, what rule are you being DQ'd under? The "over the line rule?" If the line is in the right spot, it's simple matter.
  14. About $1000 not counting the dies, you must be buying some expensive dies.
  15. As long as you're not in a hurry. I love the Bowens, I have a few. I've had one set for close to 20 years now... but they can take a while to get now, you could end up waiting many many months for them.
  16. Past a certain distance it does. Full wad cutters vs. ogival wad cutters vs. semi wad cutters and all.... It's just that some people don't shoot their pistols far enough to notice.
  17. I dunno.. the cartridge is the dangerous part. Guns don't shoot people, bullets do. Keeping your eye on it might be the safe option.
  18. Everyone has there own angle on it. I view match guns as things I'm going to treat badly, use hard and beat up on. Because of this, my Single Stack gun is the cheapest 1911 I own.
  19. The fact that we use a mag gauge for Limited-10 always kind of puzzled me....
  20. Were there "so many" mags with standard set ups "oversized" in 2015 and 2016? Same guy was working chrono as this year.
  21. When there's walls or barrels, I like to walk around the outside of the props to make sure there's noting I'm not seeing. Sometimes look at the stage backwards from out by the berm. Even then, there's times I just don't see things. I once shot a stage with a blazing fast time. One of those ones when you hear the time you think :Hmm... that's too fast". Missed a whole four target array. It wasn't hidden, it wasn't through a port, it wasn't even far away, it was wide open and only about 7 yards off the FFZ. It was a simple stage. I'd had my hat cam running through the whole thing, even through the walk through. Watching the video, I air gunnedI right past the array four times without seeing it, looking and turning left when I needed to turn right, then I shot it just like I walked it.
