I have asked the same questions! I finally got a straight answer. As my wife, daughter and I were in the factory Blaser store in SA during the world skeet finals. I ask what makes these 3 shotguns so expensive. They were the same receiver and barrels. One was 5300, 9300, 15000. He looked at me and said the wood! I said what!!!! He told me that the wood was from a 300 year old tree in some forest in Europe that I had never heard of. It was pretty but not 10000 dollars pretty! My daughter's shotgun coach told me one time that for some people the look of the stock was everything!

This morning I had my daughter play with the XD9 and she had no problems with it. Shea is 11 and she liked it! Or you can just break down and get her an STI and have Jim Sahahan do awesome grips for her. Shea also liked shooting the 9mm 1911! Like Nemo and the others I started Shea on a Ruger 22/45 pistol. .22 first than move her to a 1911 or an XD!

It will make an awesome starter pistol. But watch out for the new .40 S&W from Taurus coming in Jan. I have shot the 45 and it was very nice. I suspect the slide and frame for the STI and the Taurus look a lot a like. I would hate to be Kimber or Colt! Please no one give me you get what you pay for. I have shot a Kimber all year! Cost 700.00 plus shipping for used pistol! Shot it once and had Carlos install a new Schumann barrel and all extreme fire group with an sti trigger and DK hammer. Would have been nice to start with the Spartan or the Taurus and save a couple hundred up front!!!!

My daughter Shea and I, got my wife hooked on the show! Only thing is you get tired of hearing save the cherleader save the world! At home and work! Freaks!
