Well, I just ordered 1k rounds of the stuff from AIM Surplus......got my fingers crossed !!!!!!!!!

I too am an LEO & I find a lot of resistance to the sport at my department. They all say that USPSA teaches bad habits and this and that....blah, blah, blah. You get from it what you want to get. My weapons handling skills are much higher after shooting USPSA for about 5 years than they would be with my 11 year LE career alone. When guys start trying to give me $hit about the sport, I tell them that this is not training....but you can learn lots of valuable skills there. I compare USPSA shooting to drag racing: it is a sport that utilizes highly-tuned machines to peform a specific task, while looking to save every fraction of a second here or there that is possible. We are not out here to teach you to clear a building looking for a bad guy, but shooting under the stress of the timer is one of the greatest training aids I've come across yet.....

Well, I knew the time would come when my supply of department issue .223 ammo would dry up.....and that time is now. I need to find a source for some decent ammo (55 gr. FMJ) at the best price. I know a lot of you load your own ammo, but can you give me some tips on where to find a good deal ????

My department recently bought a $hitload of Hornady .223 "practice ammo" that has steel cases...because that was all we could get our hands on. I haven't been able to find any info on-line about this stuff, so I don't know if it's prone to the same problems as the Wolf or not.... I immediately warned everyone about the troubles I have personally witnessed at the range with these Wolf-induced malfunctions. Does anyone have any experience with the Hornady loaded ammo ??? I'd hate to go out and practice with these loads and then have a rifle that wouldn't cycle our duty loads that use brass cases !!!! In the mean time, you won't catch me shooting any of it thru my JP rifle...much less my little entry gun !!!!

I shot a Para P16 Limited for my first two years in USPSA. It was hard to beat for the price once you got the Dawson mag pads....but, I could not pull myself out of C class. I then switched to a Dawson-tuned STI Edge, and with-in the first few months I had edged in to B class.... I am now knocking on the door a A class, but I don't have the time to practice to get me there any time soon.

Here is a pic of a friend of mine shooting a 4" S&W .500. He only shot it twice, and a friend captured this photo on one of those!!! Craig said he actually went back in time about 20 min. after this round !!!!!

+1 I've got some Blackhawk nomex flight gloves that come only to the wrist. Always one on my weak hand during a long shotgun stage.

There used to be a bar-b-que joint in Memphis called The Public Eye....(anyone heard of it???). They would serve popcorn kinda like an appetizer until your meal arrived. They would sprinkle it with their dry-rub powder and then I would put a drop of their bar-b-que sauce in the center of each kernal. Don't knock it until you try it......great combination !!!!

I just ordered a new A737 last night on-line. I looks pretty nice, one of them slider thingys. Anyone use one of these ????

We just bought a new Husquvarna 23hp, 48" deck with the foot-controlled hydrostatic transmission for our 1.5 acres. It works great, turns really tight for such a big mower. It replaced a 25 year old John Deere 18hp (Kohler) with a 46" deck and hand controlled hydro trans. There is no way this new mower will last 25 years like the JD, but it is more user friendly. I like the fact that you can keep both hands on the wheel with the foot pedal controls.

They ARE exempt, don't you know? Ask any one of them and they'll tell you. In actuality, unless their lights are on they are not suppose to break the posted speed limits, answering a call or not. What.....Do you have a Policy & Procedure book from your local Police Department ??? How do you know what they are supposed to do and not supposed to do ???? The people that complain about how fast they see police officers driving down the road are the same people who complain when an officer doesn't arrive quickly enough when they have an emergency and call the police.

Free Ammo is what keeps me shooting Limited (luckily my dept. shoots .40) . If it wasn't for that fact, I would venture in to the Open world. I just refuse to buy a reloader and all the associated equipment when I can shoot Limited for free !!!!!!

I just hate losing a whole hours sleep in the Spring !!!!!!

Easy on the LE bashing !!!!! Some of us take that personal. This thread is about a scope (which I do own and use for both police duty & 3Gun!). Although I do agree with a couple of the points you brought up, most of your post would better fit in the I HATE forum.
