  1. OK Benelli experts.....I need some help. I have a Benelli M3 that I use primarily for 3 gun, but occassionally for police patrol. While at a state level match this summer I started having trouble with the bitch. While loading in the middle of a stage, the loaded shells began coming back out at me every time I try to stuff another one in the mag tube. If they didn't come all the way out, it would stop on the carrier, preventing me from loading any more at that particular point.....really screwed my whole match score. I've taken the entire gun apart, cleaned it out, put it back together, and it still does it when I get about 6 shells in the tube ( 7 shot tube ). The carrier latch has got to be the culprit ??? Any way to tweak this part or am I looking in the wrong ball park ...... Thanks
  2. Hey Big Guy..... I have a new-in-the-box black C-More Railway, 4 MOA, with the click switch....if you might be interested. Won it at a 3 gun match this summer. Haven't got much use for it right now. Not sure if you can use a Railway for your application though.......
  3. Here's my first child..........Roxy (for those who are wondering, she's a white german shepherd)
  4. That whole damn group from MEMPHIS is crazy !!!!!!!!!!
  5. from Sling Blade : Doyle Hargraves talking about Karl - "Hey is this the kind of retard that drools and rubs shit in his hair and all that, 'cause I'm gonna have a hard time eatin' 'round that kind of thing now. Just like I am with antique furniture and midgets. You know that, I can't so much as drink a damn glass of water around a midget or a piece of antique furniture. " Karl : " I like them french fried potaters....mmmmhmmmm." This is another movie that you could list the enitre script !!!!!!!
  6. My Edge has never shot anything but Remington 165gr. FMJ Loves It !!!!
  7. +1 on the LaRue mount. I had the same scope with the LaRue SPR-E mount, and it was perfect. I've since sold the Trijicon and switched to a Leupold Mark 4 with ARMS #22 rings on the flat top, and it lacks just a hair of the eye relief that I would like. I should have kept the LaRue !!!
  8. Let me guess.......STI Recoilmaster guide rod ???
  9. While searching another board (AR15.com) I came across an upper set up similar to the JP CTR-02, except its built on a Rock River Upper. I got a price quote of $1200 shipped, including to the following : Talon Arms Custom IPSC Upper - JP Enterprises 18" SuperMatch Barrel (1/8 twist midweight) with Bennie Cooley Compensator, Adjustable Gas System and Heat Sink (20" bbl. also available) JP Enterprises Stainless Steel Tactical Bolt Carrier with Bolt JP Enterprises Modular Free Float Tube (matte black) with 12:00 Rail Rock River A4 Upper and Charging Handle Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these uppers or this company....plus it's a few hundred less than an original JP upper.
  10. does anyone know if there is a link to the match results anywhere ?
  11. Richard..... My department has a few 14" M1's we use on the tactical team, but they don't get much use anymore. We have switched to UMP .40's and .223 Commandos.....but back to the point. We were getting beat up by the M1's with the full load buck and slugs and were so glad when the reduced recoil ammo was released. But to our dissmay, the M1's would not cycle either 100%, so it had to be scrapped. Plus the limited mag capacity of the short gun wasn't a good idea for entry work. We now have 18" M1's in all our line cars, and were are required to load them with full power loads, just because the problem I mentioned earlier with the 14" guns. On the other hand.....my pre-ban M3 (auto/pump convertible) will shoot anything I put in it....reduced buck, reduced slugs, bird shot.......... I can load 7 in the tube, 1 in the chamber, and 1 on the carrier for a total of 9. This is great for tactical/limited class 3 gunning !!!!
  12. Anyone familiar with the range at Fort Smith that can tell me about the ground material....??? Is it rock, sand, dirt, grass, all the above....trying to figure out how many pairs of shoes to bring....
  13. Hey Guys....... I've done a search here and looked in the USPSA rulebook, and can't find anything that covers whether or not a bi-pod is legal for use in the Tactical division ???? I know this info is available somewhere, and I'm sure it's common knowledge to most.....so help a brother out. Thanks
  14. nm3gnr, My Edge must have came with the light RM, either that or the previous owner switched the outer spring.....because the new Heavy RM feels nothing like my gun did before.
  15. I've got a hardchromed STI Edge in .40 I bought a couple years ago, very slightly used at the time. Since then, the Recoilmaster exploded on me and I found a "light" recoilmaster locally and put it in my gun...while waiting on a replacement from STI. The "light" RM feels just like the one that I did have in my gun and it works just fine. When I got the "heavy" RM replacement from STI, it feels a LOT heavier than what I did have, and I think I prefer the "light" version. Does anyone else use the "light" version in a .40 Edge ??? I've read elsewhere someplaces that you should only use the "heavy" in anything over a 9mm, but then I've read too that it shooters preference.
  16. Thanks for the info George.........
  17. Hey Guys & Gals..... I'm getting ready to go to the Arkansas Sectional 3 Gun match.....and someone put a bug in my ear about everything being chronographed.....and now I'm concerned that my loads may not meet minimum standards out of my 16" M4....... For .223 I'm shooting factory Remington Express 55gr fmj . I also have some Remington Premier Accutip (polymer tip) in 50 gr. boat tail. I've never been to a "big" match where I had to be concerned with power factor before, but does anyone from there experience see any problem with the 55 gr. stuff meeting the minimum PF ? I'm shooting in the Tactical Major class.......
  18. I would assume Remington UMC 165 gr .40 would have similar results to the Winchester WB 165 gr .40 ??? I'm getting ready to head to my first "big" match where the chronograph is actually used and now I'm concerned my Remington may not make major out of my 5" Edge......... Anyone to offer some reassurance ????????
  19. Has anyone had experience with the comps from Vanden Berg Custom : or the comp from the guys at Mid South Tactical Network: [url=http://http://www.pri-mounts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PRI&Product_Code=05-0089&Category_Code=AR15_M16_ACC
  20. Hey Guys and Gals..... I am thinking about getting the Accupoint TR21, which is a 1.25 - 4x variable with 20mm objective. I plan to use it on my patrol rifle (M4) and also use it for 3-Gun matches. Has anyone had any experience with one of these in a CQB-type environment ? Im currently running an Aimpoint M2 and love it for the close-up stuff, but I ran in to some trouble with a 200+ yard shot recently. I'm just concerned that the Accupoint sight picture may be too restricted for fast, up close and personal shooting. My Aimpoint is on an ARMS quick release mount and the Accupoint will be too if I buy one, so switching back and forth won't be a big deal. Any input would be appreciated.
  21. Another vote here for the Oakley Assault Boots. I wear them every day as a LE officer, and they are as comfortable as any cross-training shoe I have ever worn. They have excellent padding in the collar, great traction without "gumming up" with mud, and are super light weight. I've had mine for close to a year and they still look great.
  22. Hey Folks.... I am thinking about using some S.G. Lite in my AR, and wondering if anyone has used this in the past and what the results were.....Do y'all think it is too thick for around the bolt area ???? It works great in my STI....I love the stuff.
  23. Hey Guys & Gals..... I promise, I did a search and tried to find a previous thread that may have covered this, but I was unable to do so. I am using SV 140mm mags with the red competition followers, and I'm ready to swap the mag springs. Any suggestions as to which springs work the best with these particular followers ? Will all springs that are marked for SV work with these followers, or will they have to be cut to fit in to the follower ? P.S. I am a firm believer in Slide-Glide now.....When I got my STI Edge a few weeks ago, I was having feeding problems with factory .40 ammo (I had a few posts on the board about that). After getting my S.G. in and lubing up the Edge, it will feed anything I put in it now. Now hopefully I can focus on shooting a good match, and not be worried about which malfunction drill I will have to perform to get my gun running again.
  24. Hey Folks...Me again.....After having a bad performance out of my Edge at a match this past Saturday, I sat down a few minutes ago to clean it up. (Got my Slide-Glide in today also!!) While inspecting the barrel, I noticed that the link did not move freely throughout the entire range of motion. When it reaches the forward postion (parallel with the barrel), it has a catch in it....like it actually snaps in to a locked postion. I have never noticed this on any of my other pistols, and I'm not sure if this is normal for a STI Bull Barrel or not. Maybe this could explain some of my Fail To Feed problems over the weekend ???? Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions so far on my other questions. I'm really not as "green" as it may appear, but this STI is a whole different ball game from the other guns I have.
