  1. Does anyone have a video or link to a video showing someone doing a weak hand reload with Tecloader tubes?
  2. A good mix. Short fast up close stages, stages with long shots, stages with choices. A good mix. Lots of slots, a match fee that doesn't induce the wife to kill, and a round count worth the trip.
  3. Wow. What a difference a year makes! Last year I sent in my application late and had no issues getting in. This year I am on the road (and not able to send it in as early as I wanted) and it sells out in a day!
  4. I have a scope that is mechanically sound, but for some reason the finish on the scope has become tacky and gooey. Touching it leaves black gum on your hands. Almost like the scope was tape wrapped or subjected to some type of chemical at sometime. But since I bought the scope NIB I know that is not the case. Now the scope has a Lifetime Warranty, but that is no help. The company that built it is out of business and while a new company of the same name exists; they don't service the old scopes. So, at some point I want to replace the scope entirely. But until then, any thoughts on what I could do to handle the tacky exterior? Since its on a camo rifle, I was thinking about getting the matching MossyOak scope wrap and just wrapping it to cover the tacky surface.
  5. They could have been Nighttime Quals and had the windows taped over to cut the light.
  6. While I can understand the mother's point of view in today's world, this is one of the things I love most about shooters. Of all the various sports and competitions I have been involved with over the years, no one has ever been as "giving" as shooters.
  7. Are we going to see a Manning choke or a Manning come-back?
  8. Isn't there a large range in Fayette, MO that holds several major matches? Minnesota 3-Gun group seems to be doing a good job of growing the sport.
  9. I like the RIO Game loads. They are a bit hotter than the Target load. At the 2013 Nordic Component, I was running RIO Game and a full choke. Steel fell! My Open 1100 does not like Winchester Super X! The rounds come out of the tube, but don't trip the carrier to lift them up tot he chamber.
  10. Cloud is not very helpful with the range well away from anything, including good stable cell service. Not sure how to connect the Master to two networks simultaneously, but I don understand that solution just means more hardware.
  11. Please understand, my issue is really not one of "security". Just one where I don't want an accident. Personally, I would like to see either (a) a way to set that only specific devices can be synch'd FROM by the Master or ( only certain devices show up on the Synch List to be synch'd from... while still allowing every shooter on the range to synch their device from the Master. Nothing too complex, nothing taking a lot of setup.
  12. Not really sure how to put this... I would like the ability to lock which "clients" I can synch from. Let me explain. As we are finishing match, I am often sitting on the trailer porch synching to the squad tablets. While I am doing this, I see lots of devices pop up as individual shooters synch to me in order to get their scores. I would like to be able to lock which devices I can synch from so that I don't accidentally try to synch with Joe Shooter's iPhone, but still allow Joe to synch from the Master. I don't think anyone would do it purposefully, but Joe and Bob could be doing What-Ifs on Joe's iPhone and I don't want to accidentally pull the changed scores from him. I hope that made sense.
  13. How do we make a choice? There's "Equilibrium" and its infamous Gunkata. All the Lethal Weapons. The early Law and Order shows. and on and on and on... I have noticed lately that more and more gun handling on the screen includes finger alongside the gun and out of the trigger guard.
  14. If you do not have a solution to the problem, there is money to be made in extending it as long as possible.
  15. LOL. I remember writing Traffic Light algorithms. From very simple to very very complex, and in the end what we learned was that they have about the same level of success over time. I forgot what country I was in, maybe Italy, where stop lights are treated like stop signs. Stop, Look, Go. Pull out in front of someone and you pay the bill.
  16. Yoder, Other than the seat of your pants.... Are you okay?
  17. At one time while teaching a lady to shoot, I used 200gr LRN and a very minimal powder charge or W231. Had to drop the spring weight to make the gun function, but once I got the combination right, they ran fine.
  18. Ken, Please keep in mind that many facilities may have an internal network but do not have Internet access. Since I work for one of the companies that is moving everything it sales its clients to the cloud, I always have to worry about how software will react if the cloud is not available. And now I have noticed your last paragraph in the post above mine and see you are a step ahead. Thanks
  19. I use to shoot with a gentlemen who used a simple Metronome mp3. You can download them at various tempos. None of the flair of Metal but a strong steady beat.
  20. For Christmas I gave my father a Gift Certificate to his Eye DR who is a Rudy Dealer. He got the Shooters Set and his prescription in the hanger. After his insurance paid and he used his Gift Certificate, he now has a $7 credit with the DR Office! Nothing against any of the other manufacturers since I have never used their products, but I have always been very pleased with my Rudys!
  21. Better Search. I know part of this is that some uploaders/clubs are not consistent in naming. It would be nice to have the ability to break down by Match Type (USPSA, IDPA, SC, 3 Gun, etc), Match level (Monthly/Major) and linked to Club Ids (like the USPSA ones NC01, SC03, etc). Better formatting has been mentioned already.
  22. One of my fondest memories as a child was Dad and his Case Sodbuster (in black). He would use them and sharpen them until the blades were almost needles. Then we would buy him a new one for his birthday. One of the things I like about my current job is that I don't have to deal with TSA and can actually carry a decent knife again.
  23. Loaded 255gr lead on time in 45 ACP. Like watching fly balls loft across the range. Everything just seemed in slow motion. But they shot very soft.
  24. Nimitz, If you want to continue to hold USPSA sanctioned matches, sounds like you need a variance from USPSA. At this point, your best next step is to email USPSA and ask what the proper path to that variance is. I would assume they require a form and various explanations, etc. I think this is one of the differences in USPSA and IPSC rules in that they have a Designated Safe Angles kind of rule which allows this to happen when you have restrictions that force you to narrow the normal 180 rule.
