  1. Okay, how do Production legal polymer guns with factory sets of grip pieces fall into this rule? Wasn't that a selling point of some of them, that you could change out backstraps, etc to modify the gun to you? Or is it one of those "its factory so its allowed now be quiet" questions?
  2. Yes, its normal. And yes, its normal that it bothers some of us who come from competitions where muzzle control is an absolute.
  3. Sounds about like the FAN who is suing the NFL because his team lost due to a bad call by the ref and therefore did not make the playoffs.
  4. Yeah... its sad when conversation with your family start off with "You work with computers, right?".
  5. How does a changing HHF affect standing scores and classifications? Does my 61% suddenly become a 59% when the HHF is recalculated? Or do historical scores stay the same, even when they can no longer be calculated because of the change? If they recalculate, do people lose classification? How do you calculate HHF for the smaller Divisions? Do you link Limited 10, Single Stack, Revolver to the HHF in Open as a percentage to start and then let if develop on its own? That has not been well received in the past.. Not saying the current system can not be improved or replaced with a better one, just that a lot of thought on the impacts of a change needs to happen.
  6. Grump, I never found a load with mid-weight bullets that made Major and was comfortable; thats why I ended up with the 180gr bullets. For me, it just seemed to work best. Of course you may find something else works for you. Plus with 180gr bullets, I was basically running the same load as the Limited guys which added to the mental comfort factor with the load. Of course I was using a 6in N-Frame 6 shot .357 so I had plenty of gun to manage any recoil.
  7. Warp, Typically its not a .38 Special pistol (would not run my .38 Special Major loads in my K Frame Model 10), but a 357 Maj pistol using 38 Special brass. Cheaper, more plentiful, and capable of handling the load brass. I have heard but never seen, that there is an international revolver shooter who was running 38 Short Colt Major. Never was really brave enough to experiment with that.
  8. The first year or two I shot revolver, I ran .38 Special Major using 180gr LaserCast. Also loaded a lot of 200gr RN i got from a local caster. In my 6in N-Frame they were tame loads.
  9. if you are going the same place every week, you can ship the "toy" to yourself at the hotel. If you travel all over, not sure how TSA will feel about a replica...
  10. You are in luck.... Fort Jackson is located on I-77 going around Columbia. At the end of I-77 is the Mid-Carolina Gun Club. They have USPSA, IDPA, etc. About 2 hours east (Charleston) and two hours west (Spartanburg) you have two more clubs. Plus Clinton House (Clinton, SC) and Tabor City, NC running 3 Gun Nation Club matches.
  11. I know the Jerry M comp was offered in set screw held version at one time. I may have one in a box somewhere from the old HBAR.
  12. The problem with making the position a true Full-Time Position with an appropriate salary is the inherent instability of the job. It would mean giving up a regular Full Time job for an unknown period of time, with no guarantees.
  13. Even the Smith&Wesson Performance Center website doesn't show it yet
  14. Actually, if I can get it put together I am planning to shoot the Back-to-Back in 6 Shot Iron and 8 shot Open. Yes, I know the 8 shot Open is a useless gun in USPSA. But hey, when I shoot a wheelie everyone but other wheelies think I am nuts anyway!
  15. John, I think I am going to try and make your Classifier Match (shooting my 6 shot Revo) and then Charleston's the next weekend with my Open Gun. See if I can bomb both Divisions in a 7 day period! James
  16. dlfleetw, Its a 4 hour drive so you might want to start early and get a car pool together James
  17. Spike it down solid and run a long rope or go to something like the MGM Self Resetting Popper or Speed plate.
  18. Dropping the magazine after the first Weak Hand shot does not help your score on this classifier at all!
  19. High Lord, Is the Pinetucky 3 Gun just a once a year match or do you hold more of them?
  20. Scores are available. https://www.practiscore.com/match-results/uuid?uuid=9A700B35-9250-47D0-823F-934C29833BF9
  21. The Charleston Match went well. Feedback from everyone was highly positive. We are looking forward to putting another match on in the spring. Just need to make sure we aren't fighting with Pinetucky for the same date. Charleston's Scores... https://www.practiscore.com/match-results/uuid?uuid=9A700B35-9250-47D0-823F-934C29833BF9
