  1. In the case that the club provided the information and someone was stripped of their 2A rights, I could see the lawsuits coming all the way down to the USPSA club level. The state, the club, the USPSA club .....
  2. Didn't DD just announce a new PPC to replace the Skorpion?
  3. Voted for Optics, but for a simple reason ..... old bloody eyes. The logistical and political considerations, I didn't really think about.
  4. Will be glad when they add the N-Frame 6 shot 357 mag version back
  5. Now if the new maker of SL Variants will just make the N-Frame 6rd 38 Specials again.
  6. Center Of Mass holsters did. I have one setup for a Para 38 Super Open Gun with a frame mounted CMORE. Sadly, I am not sure they are in business still.
  7. Always wondered if the issue with the SIGs is not a mechanical one, but one of ergonomics. A trigger guard designs that allows for more external interference, a grip design that tends to orient fingers to triggers even when user thinks they are clear, etc. Not a SIG user personally, so I don't have hands on experience with the guns to say, but I see too many people whose expertise I respect saying they could not recreate the issue.
  8. Looking for a LH or Ambi magazine release for a Gen 3 Glock 17. My search-fu is weak today and I am not finding anything. Everything is either discontinued or for a Gen 4-5. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Another one for Give Jeff Abernathy a call. His one-man gunsmith shop in NC is a part time business, so I would see what his load and turn-around time looks like. But his work is top notch.
  10. Don't really shoot Production much, but I do remember the discussions on the IPSC Forum when their Production came out. It was basically a "Can we get one more round" arms race to find the gun that met the rules and gave the maximum capacity - first Glock, then CZ, etc. Something the 10rd rule in USPSA steered away from. However, given the current state of handguns, I don't see USPSA Production going to the Box creating that kind of war. Personally, I like 140mm but will shoot whatever the rule is.
  11. Only remember Staff Reset going bad, once. About 25 years ago, I was a green shooter and volunteered to staff an Area Match. It rained heavily and the match was a swamp. A call by the RO was overturned and the two ROs walked off in protest. Leaving me alone on the stage. Not an RO, not an experienced shooter even at that time. The MD found another CRO and the two of us busted our humps to get all the shooters through the stage, just the two of us on a large field stage. But we did it. Really made me appreciate the job "Staff" does. "And every one that claimed to be staff reset ended up needing competitors help, even sc matches." No, I have run stages with a good crew at SC State and not needed any competitor help. Didn't turn it down, but didn't need it. The local SASS club worked the match as help and to get their "work day" credits.
  12. At the SC State (which I have worked as dumb help and RO and basically CRO when the CRO became non-mobile) you typically have a few non-ROs working each stage. Club members needing work day credits, Boy Scouts, etc. You go over what you want from them and they are very helpful. One benefit from a staff reset stage is the stage is reset the same way every time. Not that competitors don't set it back to the best of their ability, but when Bob's job from the match is to reset A and B, A and B are rest the same way all match. This is especially important with tricky or complex props. As for scoring behind the shooters..... I have always stopped and waited for the shooter if there was a target with any question what so ever. But a plain visible A A or A C is call it and move on. Man, I need to get back involved and get my certificates back up to par.
  13. Most John Wayne movies use the same gun regardless of the time period. The Tom Selleck westerns are much more accurate. Last Stand at Saber River is a good example. Lots of Cap and Ball conversions, Henrys, and Spencer Rifles.
  14. When a police officer is about to enter a building, draws their sidearm, and cocks it! Like they were carrying it unloaded.
  15. Borrow someone else's Gun, Rig, and Ammo.
  16. in SC you would need to use three ranges to have enough space for a Nationals, and there are not three close enough to make it work.
  17. At one point I knew a guy would had magazines set up so he pulled the follower, spring, and blocker and swapped them out when he competed outside of his home state. But I understand wanting something foolproof for inspection by the NYC Dept of Idiots. So glad I moved out of that cesspool.
  18. Would a "blocked" standard magazine be legal under NYC law?
  19. The issue is that most people cant the pistol heavily to do the flip and catch foolishness. So the round will slip out of the normal central path putting the primer in line with the ejector. There is nothing to "fix". Its simply cant, motion, and physics.
  20. Even wore out slide rails isn't End of Life as slide rail replacements are available and can be done by a solid gunsmith. But its not going to be covered since its 100s of 1000s of rounds of wear and tear on the gun, not a manufacturing defect.
  21. Saw a shooter try and do the flip at a local match. Round detonated on the ejector, piece of brass went through his lip and cracked his tooth. Personally, I can drop the chambered round to the ground and then pick it up.
  22. What were the PEs given for? I would agree with the shooter that the order is implied but not specified in the briefing, so PEs for shooting our of order would not be applicable. Often hard to figure how an Arbitration Committee will rule, sometimes their decisions seem to make no sense.
  23. Might it be better to sell the Para barrel and simply buy a Clark?
  24. CClass4Life, You have contradicted yourself here. You said everything goes to Minor with no benefit for Major, but that everyone using a Major gun doesn't need to change. Either A or B, A and B is not a reasonable assumption.
