  1. I like that idea, usually we can get 1/2 a dozen on nice days but if its muddy or cold or hot then not so much
  2. I'm going to call B.S. here. During drills I have gotten down to .15 splits and I just tried fanning the trigger, had a .10 split, I had 4 splits of .11. I have the apex aek comp kit and never had that problem. These guns are incredibly fast. If the trigger didn't reset either you didn't allow the trigger to travel far enough forward to reset or the gun might have the old style sear housing that was know for sear bounce.

uspsa limited or L10 Deburring it and reprofiling the throws you out of production
  4. I would get it barreled for a .40 and shoot limited, if you think its too heavy then maybe get the dustcover shortened and the slide lightened.
  5. I am assuming that you are shooting 9mm? The extra weight is nice to have but it doesn't make as much difference when you are scoring minor as it does when shooting .40 s&w. major. Do you shoot USPSA pistol matches? Spending 2K on a limited gun and stuck scoring minor would be a though pill for me to swallow. You already probably have around a 1k wrapped up in the m&p, you might as well finish it out. If you where starting from scratch then it would be a different story. Since you will not be production legal with the fss you might as well spend the $150 on some slide lightening also.
  6. Cant wait to get mine! I need to get started on the dryfire for next year since it is starting to get cold out.

    CZ vs 92F?

I think its clear that the cz is the better gun for games but how do they compare when it comes to reliability?
  8. Titegroup, wst, win 231, those are the ones that I try to stick with.
  9. I have a shadow on order from CZC that I will be running in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo next year. It will be in production division. If you come to either on of these monthly matches there will usually be at least one but usually two guys running tac sports in limited division. If you decide to shoot limited .40 s&w is the way to go. If you decide production is the way you want to go just make sure its on the USPSA production approved list before buying it.
  10. Kind of pricy for a magwell but you might try this http://stores.sjcguns.com/-strse-74/magwell%2C-brass-magwell%2C-sjc/Detail.bok
  11. If I have to choose between uspsa and 3 gun match I shoot uspsa just because I can get in and shoot the match faster and get out and still have part of the day left to do something else. If I have to choose between IDPA and 3 gun then I will shoot 3 gun. Guess that might be why I have only shot 2 IDPA matches so far this year.
  12. When I shot .40 minor I loaded to around a 140-145ish pf with 180gr loads. Very soft. I think it was even softer than my 9mm w/147gr bullets
  13. You could also get rid of the plastic guide rod for something heavier like tungsten or Stainless Steel
  14. I think that SJC has a brass magwell that weighs almost 9oz, but the weight isn't going to be out front like on an Edge or something like that
  15. You could just wrap some athletic tape around your thumb until you have time to send it out to get welded for now. You can still get your thumb caught but it doesn't hurt. That's what I did until I decided to weld it up myself. Really isn't that hard to do if you have a welder and some time. The only problem I had is the gas wasn't working right when welded it so I have a few bubbles where I welded it but it doesn't affect function.
  16. If it is going to be a limited only gun I would use the fss or the sai trigger if it was my gun. That way you can get rid of all the pre-travel.
  17. At 350 for a slide and 259 for a frame that more than pays for the gun at whole sale purchase price. Then turn around and sell the mags for 100 bucks each that's 100% profit on the overpriced mags.
  18. The early m&ps had a small sear spring but they changed that a long time ago. A lot of the ones with the small spring had problems with sear bounce causing the trigger to not always reset.
  19. A couple times it looked like you were looking at you targets to see if you had you hits. If that's whats happening you need to learn to call you shots and get moving.
  20. I'm with Cha-Lee on this one, where was the second RO/score keeper on this one? If someone has a problem with someone in the peanut gallery yelling "stop" after looking down the barrel of a loaded gun should be given a chance to look down a loaded gun to see what is like.
  21. Youre not he first person that Ive heard say that, probably not the last either
  22. bigfish

    reload splits

It depends on range. How far is the target you are shooting at? 5 yards, 7 yards, 10 yards? For production a 1.1-1.2 split consistently should be very dueable at 7 yards with practice. If you are in the 1.3ish area and having problems making "A" class then I would assume you are either loosing time somewhere else or getting weak hits
  23. I thought he looked familiar! I thought he looked familiar! Did the old Stig crash or something?
