Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Botach.com has M&P 9mm 17-round mags in-stock for $25 with free shipping. Also has M&P 45 mags as well as 7-round Shield mags for $25.
  2. Thanks for all of the reply's. I don't have the option of putting a vaccum in another room, so I am going to try a small shop-vac and see how that works. I will just wear muffs when processing brass. Does the 1 1/4" hose match up, or do most of you use duct tape?
  3. I just purchased a 1200b trimmer to go on my 650 to process 223 brass and wanted to get a small shop-vac that would sit on my reloading bench to vaccum up the shavings. I would like to know what vacuum that others have used. It appears that the vacuum hose needs to be around 1-1/4". Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Bobwat
  4. Hops, it may make you feel better to know that I tried the Dawson Precision adjustable sights on my regular M&P Pro 9mm a while back and they did not work well for me. In fact i hated them. I am sure that others would disagree, but that is just my experience. The front sight had to be so tall to work with the adjustable rear and they just stuck up way to high off the slide. It wasn't natural to me at all when i raised up the gun to get on target. I changed sights and went with the Warren Tactical rear sight / Dawson Precision fiber fronts, and really like that combination. Just my opinion. If anyone wants to buy a slightly used set of Dawson Precision adjustable rear sight with matching fiber front sight please PM me, as I still have them in a drawer.
  5. I run a Warren Tactical rear with a .115W .180H Dawson Precision fiber front sight. I like the U shape of the Warren Tactical rear sight. I have this setup on both of my M&P 5" Pro's (Production 9mm and Limited 40).
  6. I run a 13lb captured recoil spring in my 5" M&P 9mm Pro and have never had a reliability problem or accuracy problem. I shoot mainly 125-130 PF rounds (147 gr bullet with fast powder) in USPSA competitions. It works well for me.
  7. Just wanted to make forum members that are looking for M&P 9mm 17-round mags aware that they are available this evening at MidwayUSA for $33.99
  8. KEND, Please let us know when these are available. I would love to try one out. My hands are small and I have to readjust my grip to drop the mag. Thanks, Bobwat
  9. I am new to loading 40 major and looking for a load, or validation, in using N320 with a 180 gr. TCFM Zero bullet in a 5" M&P Pro that I just built for a limited gun. I have searched and have found a lot of loads on this forum using N320 at a 1.18 or 1.20 OAL for an STI or like, but not much for a load around 1.125 to 1.135 OAL that is safe and will make major (around 170pf). The VV load book only shows N320 for a 180 gr. LTC bullet with a max charge of 4.1 gr. I have not tried 4.1 gr. with the 180 TCFM bullets, but from what I have read I don't think that it will make major. I may also try Titegroup, as that is what I use for 9mm minor Production, but thought that N320 is the preferred powder for 40 major. If you have any other suggestions for different powders /loads that have worked for you in a polymer gun please post those as well. I am looking for the least amount of recoil to make major. Thanks, Bobwat
  10. Powder Valley has some Zero 180gr FMJ (500) in stock for $65. Will take about 3 weeks to ship.
  11. The Dawson adjustable's didn't work for me. Too high off the barrel. I use a Warren Tactical Fixed Black Rear Sight for Smith and Wesson M&P, .150 Notch, with my M&P Pro. I use a Dawson DP S&W M&P Fiber Optic Inserted Front Sight .180 Tall x .125 Wide front sight for my front sights. I have these on my M&P Pro 9mm production gun, as well as my M&P Pro 40 S&W Limited gun. I really like the u-shape of the Warren Tactical's and how the Dawson Precision fiber front sights show up through them.
  12. Thanks for the +1 on using CAEK. I also tried FSS but took it out for the same reasons. Thanks for the info. I actually ordered the CAEK, with the AEK trigger and the RAM earlier in the week. Can't wait to get it in and installed. Also got a ESP aluminum magwell from SSS a month or so ago. They now have the black brass limited magwells in stock. I wish that I would waited and got one of those. I wonder if the additional weight and the limited size would help. I still want to get the 5" tungsten guide rod and a 13 lb and 15 lb spring to see which one I like best. Also have 4 of the Taran Tactical mag extensions. Almost ready to go!
  13. Mike (or anyone ) - What kind of SSS magwell do have / recommend; ESP or Limited? This gun will be used for USPSA Limited only. Also, Aluminum or the Black Brass?
  14. I had the same problem when first loading Zero 147gr bullets. I didn't have this problem with the Berry 147's that I typically load. I had to run some through a Lee Factory Crimp die to get them to successfully pass the case guage. CBC brass was the worst for this bulge, as it appears to be a little thicker. 15. I am building an M&P 40 Pro for Limited Major and have a question about the Apex FSS trigger kit. I currently shoot Production using a M&P Pro 9mm and have the CAEK with RAM installed. I am wondering if it would be better to install the CAEK with RAM on the new Limited build, since I am still going to shoot Production at times with my 9mm, or would it be better to install the FSS kit on my new limited gun? Not sure how much difference the FSS would make. Also, if I go with the FSS kit do I still need to add competition springs to get the trigger pull down? The Apex website says 4-5 pound trigger pull for the FSS kit. I have listed what I have done or planning on doing to my limited build below. Please let me know if you see anything I am missing or anything that you would suggest changing. Thanks in advance, M&P Pro 40S&W 5" Apex CAEK or FSS with RAM 13# recoil spring on 5" SSS Tungston Guide Rod Dan Burwell sharkskin backstrap Tac Grip on the remainder of the grip SSS Limited Black Brass magwell (if they ever get them back in stock), or an SJC magwell if not 4 Taran Tactical +5 Base Pads with ISMI +10% springs Warren Tactical Fixed Black Rear Sight with .150 notch Dawson Precision Fiber Front Sight (.180T x .125 w) Ready Tactical DOH holster Would like an Costa Extended Mag Release button but cannot find one anywhere
