  1. I wouldn't bother with limited unless you get the entire apex kit with an aluminum trigger and some basepads.
  2. I compared the CZC and CGW firing pins a while ago and they were basically the same.

    CZ 9mm loads

I load them a touch shorter but they have worked fine for me at that OAL. I believe 3.2g of Titegroup or 3.5g of SOLO 1000 will be right around 130 PF

    Nosedives

You can usually get the rattling to stop by tapping the magazine. It is normal to hear with longer tubes.
  5. Well the adjustable Hajo comes with the angled off corners as well as the squared one. The. Best sights is a personal choice. Less space between the sights is better for long range accuracy while wider space allows for speed.
  6. What work has to be done to a TS slide to allow a threaded barrel and comp to slide out of the front?
  7. Interesting to know. If I try these out and like them, is there some place I can get a decent discount on them?
  8. Hmm, these look interesting. I figure 2.8 to 3.0g of titegroup is needed to make 131 to 135 PF.
  9. I am looking for a pair of those as well for my Elite Matches. Which model is that from?
  10. I have had excellent results with SOLO 1000 ~ 3.8g and Titegroup ~ 3.4g at that same OAL.

    Nosedives

OP, there are only three things that I know of that causes nosedives. 1. Too weak of a spring. 2. Dirty magazine. 3. Broken or poorly designed follower. IMHO, your issue is problem number 2. With a clean magazine, how is the spring tension? If it still feels week, these may help. http://czcustom.com/czcsandfkit13.aspx
  12. I have only seen this kit once a few years ago. It wasn't reliable from what I saw. Could have been user error though.
  13. Well my thumbs are simply too short to properly ride the safeties. If I postion my hand for the first DA pull, my thumb can't reach the safety. If I run it cocked and locked, my thumb can just barely reach it. I was thinking of triming a groove for my thumb on the top of the left grip so that I have a comfortable place for it when I shoot with my strong hand since the safety is so close.
  14. Well the pencil test has been around as long as there have been 1911 gunsmiths. My CZ Shadow hammers hit just as hard or harder than my 1911's. Light primer strikes simply do not happen, even with my 11.5# CGW hammer springs with 1 coil removed. How wide is the notch on your rear sight? CZ Customs sells fixed Hajo sights with .125" notches. The corners are also rounded off at a 45 degree angle instead of the squarish competish sights. They also have a forward ledge for racking the slide off your belt/holster. My adjustable HAJO sight has rounded corners and a .125" notch as well. A .090" front sight blade is offaly thin. I am currently running .100" Dawsons as well as the CZC front sights and I am still trying to figure out which one I like better.
  15. Unless space was a restriction, I would highly suggest getting a second press. Switching the primer system from small to large and vice versa, is a hassle. The cost of the conversion shouldn't be that much cheaper than buying another press.
  16. Its hard to say if it will work until you shoot it. It is a fine line having zero slack and malafunctioning pistol.
  17. How do you make sure the hole is even and not lopsided?
  18. I just installed the extended detent springs in all of my Shadows. It feels like it has the right amount of positive response. Not a bad purchase.
  19. I would like a class like that. Otherwise, there is no point in shooting anything bigger than a 9.
  20. Basically Production/SSP only allows factory parts on the outside. As long as a factory trigger remains in place, you can do all the mods you want. I passed on the M&P due to the trigger alone. Stock or fully modded, it was simply awful.
  21. I have been shooting L10 and Single stack is up next (using the same pistol). Trying to prep for the next thing I want to get classified on and that is Production. Won't be shooting Limited or Open until California's magazine capacity laws change. Not willing to break the law for a sport. I totally agree with you. Luckily I stocked up on standard cap mags in the 90's Anywhoo, since all hammer pistols must start hammer down (unless they are decockers) and there are no double action 1911's on the Production list, you will have to comprimise on your want for an all steel single action pistol in production. I am a big fan of SA pistols but over the years I have decided to also include Striker and Double action pistols into my collection. IMHO, the closest thing to a SA all steel pistol is a customized SP01 (or Shadow) with a trigger job and a short reset setup. You will have to start hammer down for the first shot, but all other shots will be taken in the Single Action mode. If you have a stage that requires you to load the pistol before starting, then you won't have to worry about it for that stage.
  22. No. I am not even sure it is even possible to do, especially with the cutouts for the ambi-safety. Unfortunately there is not a CZ Decocker model chambered in .40 on the Safety Roster. I doubt there is an all steel pistol with a Decocker anywhere on the Safety Roster. My original suggestion to upgrade your reloader to also make 9mm is probably the most cost effective solution. 9mm minor is easier to manage than .40 S&W minor IMHO.
  23. Or you can beat the odds by finding an SP01 Shadow slide and place it in an SP01.
  24. OP, at 4.0g you should make around 130 PF and will soot slightly less. TG is not a super clean powder but it is efficient and extremely consistent. Its only downside is that is has a small loading window.
  25. 10 pounds in a glock? They barely run on 11's.Yes, 10# spring will run. It's the same for a 9mm full size 1911. Both have similar barrel length. And yes, I'm running it in my Glock.first I have heard of that. InterestingSame here. I usually hear of people running 13 or 15 lb springs.
