  1. Due to the dustcover rules in IDPA, the CTS longslide will have to go onto a CZ75 frame.
  2. As long as the bottem end is slighlty open, any holster should work.
  3. This. I highly doubt they will ever make 2,000 CTS slides and mount them to SP01 frames every year.
  4. So basically either a Glock 34, SP01 Shadow, or Tanfoglio Stock2/3 then?
  5. Is this with out the lube grove?Yep. I don't remember the exact weight but it was right around 150g.
  6. That....In the striker fired world: Springfield XDM 5.25, Glock 34, Smith&Wesson M&P Pro, Sig P320, HK VP9, FNS, Walter PPQ (i've never actually seen one at a match, but they are nice guns) In the Double/Single world: CZ 75 (shadow, accu, sp01...), Tangfo stock II or stock III, Beretta 92 (I shoot one and it works better than I do), Sig P226, HK P30L Sphinx (I don't know much about these other than they have a good reputation), Grand Power X-caliber (I'm thinking of getting one to try). Now if only I can find a job I can get one of each.... I would drop any Sig and H&K from any sort of competition list. But I can agree with almost everything else here. The SIG P320 is very competitive now and will see additional competition-centric improvements in the near future. It know a guy who just made GM in Production while shooting one and it's proving to absolutely be a platform that can win. That would be nice to see. Sigs and HK's have an extremely weak aftermarket despite their popularity.
  7. It should drop right in. If worse comes to worse, you could just sand the sides down a touch.
  8. You do. The 9mm and .40 extractor are different. I would call CZC and ask for the right part. If you don't think you need to change the extractor, take the barrel and guide rod off and slide a 9mm round inbetween the breechface and the extractor. Then wiggle the slide around. If the extractor cannot hold a fully loaded round, then you will probably face some extraction or other feeding issues. Some minor fitting may be required but for the most part, you should be able to get a 9mm TS Barrel to work with on the .40 S&W slide. Yes. However, you will need to get a 9mm extractor for reliability.

  10. I would buy a batch of 200 to 500 of each bullet you want to test. I would get 180 an 200g truncated cones as well as 175 and 180g SWC. I would also try as many different powders and loads you can.
  11. As far as accurate bullets go, everything I have made in the 130 to 135 pf area has been more than accurate enough for me. When I consider a new load, I look for stuff that is consistent, has the recoil impulse i am looking for, is realtively easy to get, will chamber consistently, and most importantly, cheap. I have tried all sorts of different bullet weights and profiles and I find the Bear Creek 147g truncated cones with the newer and slightly thinner profile meets my needs. It is only $65 per thousand and I don't buy in bulk or pay tax.
  12. How do you prep the bushing area?
  13. This. That is why I purchased an Australian barrel years ago.
  14. I run the same load thru my G34 (lone wolf barrel). 2.6gr at 1.140 makes 130PF thru the G34. I have experienced ZERO tumbling issues and they are as accurate as any 147gr ive ever loaded. And yes, it is STUPID how soft they shoot. As much as I love shooting heavy, slow, loads, does it make the gun feel sluggish when compared to a 124g?I feel that the 147g Bear Creeks that I am using at the moment already feel like shooting .22lr. Actually the gun doesn't feel sluggish with the quick burning powder. If you want to make the most of this load I recommend doing some slide lightening. This will speed up the slide with the lighter loads so you can get open gun like splits and nice grouping on double taps. Well I planned on using this for an SP01 Shadow for SSP/Production. I think I would need to go down to a 10# recoil spring for reliability. It would be nice if they sold a package of 3500 in a medium flat rate box for 300 doll hairs shipped.

    $4000 glock?

That is wierd. I use a mix of Arredondo and Dawson basepads and I have always been able to get a reloadable 20 out of them. What is the OAL and profile of your loads?
  16. Nice writeup. I wonder how much of this can be done to an Elite Match.
  17. Oh, 8.33 cents a round is not bad at all.
  18. I wish we had short brass grips, magwell, and basepads. OP, in all honesty, I doubt it will add more than .5 ounces. The current SS guide rods look like a huge nail instead of a regular 1 piece guide rod.
  19. I am really tired ATM, but am I seeing this right? 4 doll hairs per thousand?
  20. What would be the cost per unit at that mark? According to my price sheet, $81/k plus shipping. Which usually comes out to around $3/k Shipping is 975 doll hairs?

  23. You don't need any of those things to play in limited. However, I don't see the point in playing in the class that your gear is not best suited for. It is almost like entering a drifting competition with a FWD car. Yes it can be done, but it is not ideal.
  24. I wouldn't bother with limited unless you get the entire apex kit with an aluminum trigger and some basepads. My plan is to invest in a trigger soon. I want to do a few matches before changing out the trigger. Just get a feel for the match and my nerves. The trigger is a high priority. The biggest issue I have is the slide release. I gone to have to learn to reload and rack the slide back instead of hitting the release. At times I dont hit it properly for the release, which will effect my time. Well if reloading is your issue, then playing in production is the best move. Plus you will have the added bonus if not having to mod your trigger. Unless you are going to shoot with a major PF, there is no advantage in playing in the Limited division.
