Oh, cool. Did you get it installed yet? Just a bull or a sight tracker barrel? I ordered a 5.4" sight tracker barrel. I just ordered the remaining parts from Shooters Connection, except a few ignition components that are shipping from Brandon in a couple weeks. I am waiting on him to get some disconnectors back in stock before he ships the hammer, sear spring, bow, etc.

Nice! I got my 5.4" barrel in two weeks ago. I asked for a 5" lock up as well so I could use it in a 5" slide.

I tear my 2011 down once a week. Necessary? Heck no. I could get by just fine but ensuring the chamber is clean, rails lubed, and grip screws are right, but I love mechanical objects. I enjoy taking it down and putting it back together. I never grew out of my "Legos."

Is there an overtravel screw on this pistol? If so, adjust it so the hammer clears the hooks while the trigger is held back.

Ditto to all of this. Except the 21. I get 20 easy, with out of the bag untuned STI tubes with Grams springs/followers. 21 is a hard push that isn't reliable (for me).

Eric, I experienced very similar results to you in regards to the thumb rest on my limited gun. I experimented with the G o G u n pedal and it sits very high and far back. On a limited gun it it was too much. I felt much better with less of an aggressive angle, like the Arredondo unit, but never experimented with it again because 2012 nationals was coming up and I knew I couldn't run it there anyway. Is your DAA the ipsc standard legal model, or just the typical adjustable rest? I like the idea of the thumb rest simply for consistent thumb placement. I don't even desire one for recoil control anymore. The limited gun is gonna flip. It's just a given.

You must remember that most who shoot USPSA primarily have gotten where they are at without one, because they weren't legal. Some folks are simply not gonna switch after decades of training a certain way. Thumb rests are and have been common place in IPSC standard division. Try one for yourself.

The spot that gets dented is not an area where the powder sits. I highly doubt it affects the case volume. As said above, it sits in the lube ring. I notice it when I dump my rounds out between stages and brush my mags. I reload/shoot the same cartridges without an issue on the next stage.

Trust me brotha, I feel your pain. Like I said, I have 3 different hammer/sear/disconnector combos I went through. I am glad I could save you some of the lengthy misery I experienced!

What kind of sear spring? For a year I chased hammer following problems. I have the commonly recommended EGW Colt Sear Spring, which is a 1911 width sear spring. After 3 different ignition kits/trigger jobs, I finally learned that my sear spring was shifting in the 2011 grip under recoil. I wrapped he bottom area of the spring in masking tape so that it had a snug fit when placed in the grip. NO MORE HAMMER FOLLOW. After discovering this, I found out that it is common, and tape, or peening the sides of a 1911 sized sear spring is common. I tried the SV sear spring also, and the ball fell off in a day of shooting. Went back to the trusty EGW with target pasting tape.

Shooting? Forget shooting. Being an overweight person who can't move sucks PERIOD. Being fit and healthy is just, well...HEALTHY, regardless of the activity. There are no cons to being in shape, whatsoever. NONE. I vow to never again have my stomach hanging over my belt. Eff that. Take care of yourself. Eat right. Move your body. Every time at a major match I have some RO tell me "Boy, I wish I was lean and fit like you are. It all changes when you get married and have kids." Bullshit. You got lazy. You let yourself go. Period. If you want it bad enough you can do it. If you can make time to get to the range, you can make time to plan your meals and do some physically exhausting exercise a few times a week. It's a choice.

So who is gonna be the geriatric old timer who comes in and says that limited is ruined and that this is just an open gun? C'mon, we know you are out there, waiting to tell us about your Ernie Hill Speed Leader days. LOL. Sweet blaster. My gunsmith has done a couple of guns like this lately utilizing blank extensions/comps to increase the radius. We need a match report!

Cool! How much does it weigh in comparison to STI and SV triggers similar in length?

I know the G o G u n G a s P e d a l got a bad rap around here because of they way they "advertise" at times, but I do agree in their assessment that having the wrist cocked forward as it is in the typical thumbs forward grip that many shooters use, including myself, is not the strongest position for clamping force. It make work in keeping the muzzle down, but for clamping force? No way. Take a COC gripper you can close "normally" but still takes effort. Basically the one you train with. Now, attempt to close that same gripper with your wrist cocked as it would be in the grip we all use. If you can still close that same gripper, you are a beast. I can close a #1 with my wrist in a neutral angle, but I CANNOT close a T (Trainer) with my wrist cocked. Even without a g a s p e d a l I am using more of an upright support hand wrist angle. For me, I get way more clamping force.

Agreed with the few statements above. I deadlift 455 with no straps, no gloves, no belt. Raw. Just chalk. .....and the COC #1 gives me grief. Weight lifting/bodybuilding grip does not necessarily translate into COC performance.

With a 180 moly bullet at 1.180", it takes me about 4.9-5.1 to sit at 170-173 PF. Everyone's barrel is different. I too found my numbers different than everyone quoting 4.6-4.8, but hey, it is what it is.

I don't know why they just can't make the rod portion of the recoil master robust like a simple $25 Dawson guide rod. It's really that simple.

My question pertains to fit and lock up.
