  1. Reply to above post: if your gun is "bagged" it can be out of the safe area and not in your holster. Just don't take it out of the case till you are in the safe area.
  2. 'Burn Stuff" from Walgreens in case my girlfriend decides to shoot. She always ends up with brass in her shirt.... it's happened too many times. poor girl.

    Cabin fever

I decided to quit smoking 21 days ago after a bout with the flu, and being stuck in the house is not making it easier! The weather finally broke here(dayton, oh) after a rough week, but it's still pretty cold. I'm layering up and trying my first IDPA match this morning. I need to get out and do something besides work!
  4. I like Brooks Tactical A-Grip on Glocks. I'm a new shooter so I always get nervous sweats about the time I'm on deck to go up. Their sales pitch is that it works better with sweaty hands and I can agree with that. There are precut wraparound grips for 28 bucks for a variety of guns in the Brownells Catalog.
  5. Its pretty much a mock up of ambi safeties. Tried a friends', he had to trim the right rest to keep it from digging into the trigger hand. It pops right on, I decided not to go with it, on a g35 I ride the ledge on the slide stop as a thumb support.
  6. http://www.jgsales.com/product_info.php/magazines-for-handguns/glock-magazines/p/glock-magazine-22%2C-40s-w-new-ambi-style-15rd/cPath/332_178_184/products_id/780 These are ambi cut. Don't know if they are gen 4.
  7. I purchased some formula 44 40 cold bluing solution to touch up a couple scratched areas on one of my guns. I am a little alarmed at seeing the bottle after my brownell's package arrived. The liquid looks to be very light in color. I googled it and one forum on another site said to heat up the area with a heat gun before application and it darkens the finished color. Any experiences from the Enosian masses? (I'm not looking for perfection or I'd have a pro do it, just want to do a little touch up on the cheap.)
  8. 7 pets no children. Can't write off the cats and dogs. Cruel cruel world. I may have to eat one of the pets if the tax bill is too high
  9. My registration is mailed out so I will be bringing up the rear in production. My first level 2 match.

    linemen

Its been cold, dark and lonely (well my girl was here) but my transformer is getting repaired right now after the ice storm. I'd also like to thank my fat beagle Koda for keeping me warm the last couple days. All those bags of nutro max are finally paying off.
  11. Do you have power? I know about 50000 people who will show up with extension chords.
  12. It was raining ice, then it started raining ice covered trees. No power for 12 hrs now, at least we have dogs for heat. And I have a Droid and a car charger to get on enos!
  13. Do you have to qualify to shoot at the Bianchi Cup or just pay a match fee? I don't know anything outside of USPSA I just have family a couple of hours from there. Might do it one year.
  14. Definitely. It's all about the good time for me. It's always good to challenge yourself, but I always remember through my struggles it's a hobby I'm shelling out cash to participate in.
  15. I was experimenting with eye dominance before a match a couple weeks ago. I made these glasses that had one eye taped off. I kept forgetting to use them till I shot the classifier stage. Turn, draw, blurry sight picture. Hit factor less than 1 on the stage. They worked great at the range, I thought I had figured out I was cross eye dominant. But at the match, d, mike, no shoot on the Virginia count classifier. I've also had the embarrassment of loading up from a table start and taking off as my mag fell.directly out of the gun. It's just part of being new, just have a good time. I will say I feel a little more pressure on myself to improve this year. I started at the end of last year, so this season the "I'm new" excuse will start to fade.
  16. I use my PS3 to play blu rays. When I'm not using it to redeem Ohio sports teams on video games. The Playstation 3 is a handy device. Games, blu ray, and also being able to YouTube on my bigscreen.
  17. Not to get off topic but that's a handsome dog! Dogs are one of the few things I like better than guns....
  18. You can definitely still go shoot a match and have a good time with factory sights but a majority of shooters use after market sights. One of the biggest downfalls of most factory sights (I'm speaking from Glock experience) is that you can't adjust for elevation, you can only give them a whack for windage adjustments.
  19. I'm new to the sport and I had the same exact problem when I started. I hung up targets all over my basement and practiced running to them and engaging them taking care to remove my finger from the trigger guard and not to break the 180 A lot of my anxieties about getting dqd during movement have been laid to rest. Now I just have to figure out the whole being fast and accurate thing! I also made fault lines and shooters boxes out of various household junk while practicing this to real it up a little. I don't have a timer so I use Matt Burketts free one on his website. I just take my laptop into the basement.
  20. If brute force doesn't work, use more:)

    P16 40 Mags

I have a Para and the only place to get factory mags is directly from Para recently. I will say the newer mag springs aren't as reliable as the original mags that came with the used para I have that was built 10 years ago. I sent the mags back because Tue springs were sticking together. Got new ones and those springs binded up to (salt shaker effect) The springs have a very coarse coating on them. I polished my stock mag springs with brass wool and they work fine now. I put ISMI springs in the ones I put DP basepads on.
  22. I'm planning on getting a g34 in the coming weeks, and I'm familiar with Atlanta Arms, I have a price list for them as well. Right now I'm shooting my bone stock G19 carry gun. I was shooting the G35 so the G34 is a natural platform for me in production. I shot the g19 at a match today and I missed the longer barrel and pulled some shots off with the extra 2 pounds of pull! It was cool to shoot a match with my ccw gun though. G34 on The near horizon and I will try that ammo out if I don't find myself with a Dillon soon.....
  23. I've been involved in USPSA for a few months, and I am planning on my first major match at Area 5 this year. I started out in Limited and just switched to production. I just bought my first gun a few months ago and I don't have a reloading setup yet so I usually use federal red box. Has anyone had issues not making 125 with factory ammo? I use the same brand of ammo when I shoot limited, but 40 cal instead of 9. Any chrono issues with name brand common factory ammo for anyone? Federal, UMC, Winchester?
