  1. Thats typically the case in most outlaw matches. Uspsa stipulates "capacity" limits...
  2. There is nothing wrong with having your mag tube a little longer than your barrel.
  3. So for a quick summation: Calibrate from farthest position inside shooting area. Challenge/check from where shooter shot. ???
  4. Gary, Im one of the replacement RO's, and I havent heard anything about when we need to be where. Have I missed anything or is that still coming?
  5. Ok, I just stumbled onto this thread. OP says 31 rnds, Im only getting 30. I assume that you arent supposed to shoot the red button?
  6. Some of that is plastic from the wads. Shotguns are dirty creatures.
  7. I'm going to be super thilled if my shooting mentor, Randal, just helped me fix my car too! I will report back...
  8. Well, now that I have finally made it through this entire thread (started reading last week a few pages at a time), I guess I will add my impressions. I found a "deal" on here for one of these shotguns and scooped it up for $575 delivered. It came with a set of HiViz sights still in package and the Nordic +1 cap on the end of the tube. It's the 22" version, but now with the same capacity as the 24". I think that everything about this model is pretty slick so far. I've only had time to get about 40-50 rounds through it at this point, so I'm still forming my opinion. I am having the issue where tossing a shell into the ejection port of the locked open gun and hitting the bolt release leads to running the round up against the rear of the chamber and not into it. I saw where "Smokecloud" had this issue and remedied it by tweaking the arms of the carrier/lifter. I thought of easing the edge into the chamber a little. Anyone else still seeing this and correcting in other ways? Anyone come up a with a way to get that super-sticky recoil pad to shoulder a little easier without hanging on shirt, etc.? I've just recently finished setting up an SX3 and been shooting it for about a year now. This def gives it a run for its money and I have less than half as much in 930. The SX3 is a bit lighter though.
  9. Sup? Just saw we were viewing the same thread.

  10. Ive run about 10 of the Wilsons through my Fusion, SA, and Les Baer without a hitch as long as my ammo was right. Ive used a couple of other models as well but Ive always come back to the Wilsons. Could be something other than the mags...
  11. In exchange for major pf, you should be able to squeeze in an extra round or 2 and you should have that much less recoil to contend with. There are plenty of plastic pistols beating guns costing 5 times as much, M&P, Glock, and XD just to name a few. Its much more the indian than the arrow. You can be plenty competitive in Limited with an XD shooting minor. When you get to the point where that is costing you a win, worry with it then.
  12. Perhaps Im answering the obvious and you wanted details, but the flashing light indicates that the vehicle knows there is a problem with the AC system. It does not indicate exactly what the problem is. This caught my eye bc Ive been having the very same issue in my 04 4runner. I would be interested to hear what you figure out.
  13. I believe that it would be pretty tough to wear out the "rifling" in an H&K. There are loads of other factors besides the ammo. Did they both have original barrels? Did the pistol that didn't shoot as well have a proper o-ring. Were the sights solid? And, as already mentioned, assuming that both pistols were in good/correct working order, the ammo would be a very likely culprit.
  14. In the armory of the Malaysian special police...
  15. Another vote for the Pro here mainly because of the extra sight radius. You are probably going to do some tinkering with either model and due to legal crap even the pro trigger can use work. Internally, you can tune either to about the same place. You cant reasonably add sight radius to the 4.25 though.
  16. +1 for Ready Tac. Find 'em at CPWSA. I have em for all my competition guns.
  17. Outlaw by its very name does not always subscribe to a particular set of rules. Generally, they would use rules similar to USPSA, but often a little less strict in some areas and maybe even a little more in others. The rules generally revolve around capacity or caliber or sights; very seldom will you see limitations on something so specific as weight/size of a magwell. If it flies in a certain division in USPSA or IDPA, it will be fine in some division in an "outlaw" match. Ultimately, it depends on the specific match/division you are trying to shoot in, but as a general rule most any magwell would probably be acceptable in an "outlaw" 3-gun match.
  18. I also thought that it was a Para mag, but I'm not 100%. Should be easy enough to find one to try though.
  19. Dont worry about pulling it. Just shoot em. You are not going to hurt anything in a modern reputable pistol with any load that is published in any book.
  20. It all about the smoke. Coated, plated, and jacketed bullets are more forgiving with a wider variety of powders and velocitys/pressures.There are some who will complain about cleaning as lead is more likely to foul your barrel, but I believe that if lead didn't smoke at all and was still just as cheap compared to jacketed, you would hear far less whining about leading in a barrel. But, that can be mitigated with changes in powder type and charge as well.
  21. You say that your present punch is concave? That would indicate that it is for loading round nose bullets? I bet you could get away with using it just as is to start with. The punch doesn't have to push very much on these bullets with the proper amount of case-mouth expansion/bell.
  22. Would need to agree on a consistent method of measuring, from base (easy part) to ...? What point would you use for the top?
  23. It might be handy if a few people posted the lengths of their various tubes (preferably in mm) so that others may better understand how much variance there can be in the "same" tubes. Something like: "brand", date of manufacture if known or maybe even purchase, length, capacity with "x" guts and basepad, comments, etc.... ex. STI, purchased new Dec 2011, XXXmm, 19 (reloadable; 20 start) w/ x spring and follower and x base pad, worked right out of the box in my Brand X pistol...
  24. I've had great luck with my TS unit on a single stack. I've never needed "bullseye-level" accuracy as I have only used it for casual plinking and steel challenge, but it shoots pretty dang well on paper too. Costly mags are a bummer, but they are well made and easy to take apart to clean.
