  1. Here my STI Eagle 5.0 .40 S/W Full lenght dust cover, SVI internals and a DAA thumb rest,Tungsten Guide rod.......ect When I shoot major it barely moves... when I put a minor load....it's like a verry soft 9mm
  2. Sorry to say.. ....but that's the first thing I switched out when I got any of my STI's. I run a Tungsten Guide Rod ( Wilson shock buff) and a 12 lb spring. Then again I'm shooting .40 Major
  3. Any chance that you can down load your ammo.....
  4. Yup, that's my 5.0 Eagle...ordered witht the full dust cover and a DAA adjustable thumb rest. I like it...and it fits in the IPSC gun rule box. BTW, I've asked Brandon to put one of their SVI's rests on my new SVI gun...I hope to get it soon.
  5. I've often wondered regarding the actual science ( not perceived) performance of comps on Open Guns...and for that mater Ported Barrels. Take into account all the variables....treating it like a science. Calibre is in my opinion the best place to start......what are you going to shoot 9mm, .38 super ( and its variants) The uniformaty of the proppelent charge as to give the desired fps has to be established as to give the numbers to continue with the design of the comp. The bullet itself again uniformaty of all the phyisical parrameters..Wieght, Diameter, the structure of the round itself ( open base or closed) ect. Then comes the comp and the phyisical layout of the ports themselves...tapered walls, the actual diameter of the bullet path, the bottom of the comp ports. ( flat or rounded)..then the sheer number of ports ( and side ports also) along with the wieght of the comp. We've all seen guns that have heavy inefficient comps or in calibres that cant generate enough gas to work "corectly" Now puting it all together ( the NASA boys can do the number crunching). the bullet moving at so many fps, will only have a certian amount of dwell time where it enters the comp and for a fraction of that that dwell time will allow the gasses to venture in the comp ports and generate a thrust as the round is leaving the "first chamber" ( thrust is measued in newton meters or joules of energy)...thus compensating for the lift of the gun in recoil...and yes the recoil cycle is another part of this delicate bit of engeneering. So is it any wonder that there are almost as many comp styles and layouts as there are open shooters. Seems to me that there's a whole lot of numbers to be crunched...then again a Stradavarius is hard to replicate with just the number....but you do get closer to the truth once you , as the name sake of this forum says...Maku mozo Sorry for the crappy text, im fighting a wicked head cold
  6. The best way to fix an ST is to gut the factory gun and have a smilth re build it with better parts...SV's Just sayn..... Here's my STI Eagle 5.0
  7. I use the STI 126 ( Ipsc Box Rule ) mags with slanted basepads. I cant go over 10 rds ( Canadian Law)...so make them as reliable as possible instead..... Gramms intermals and adjusted feed lips. Extra capacity...can cost you in reliability.........just say'n
  8. I got mine from Chuck at Shooters Connection
  9. Fitting is a bitch I had my smith do it....just say'n And yes, that's an Enos Trigger
  10. I've stated running a green front fibre optic.....I've found its not as "bright" as my red..... I see more of the front sight and that helps with precise shot placement.
  11. Yup. Fastarget is correct.....you have to find that magic combo of length, profile and reliability.
  12. My STI .40 Eagle...with the 10 round 126mm mag......LOVES 1.200"
  13. Ivan , as a fellow Canadian shooter. Sounds like you need to do a complete clean, teardown and tune-up of the gun. As for the mags....I beleve in Profile and feeding over a strict OAL....
  14. Nice, I can't wait for mine!! Looks like you've got the gun ........what about box rule magazines??
  15. I Hope to post in November....if I'm LUCKY
  16. Here's mine.... SVI internals and a whole whack of other goodies
  17. Works for me on my STI Eagle .40. The gun settles down after each shot a little smoother than my non thumb rested gun.......just say'n  Heres a pic of my current ride.
  18. I'm going with the SVI on the SVI gun. Should Brandon and the boys come up with something ells.......ill be ready for it. The DAA is quite nice.....but l'll keep my new gun as close to 100%
  19. Fitting steel parts.....with the flawless factory SVI finish...measure twice and cut once
  20. SVI has a thumb rest....you have to talk to Brandon. I've got one on my SVI build.......I can't wait for my new gun!! In the mean time I have a DAA Adjustable thumb Rest on my STI Eagle ( .40) Here`s a picture of my current ride
