  1. Welcome to the forum..or the Dark Side....BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ciao.
  2. As I said I use a Dillon SD-B the dies used for this reloader "fix" about %75-80 of "Glocked brass"..some are going to be beyond redemtion. Now check out the reloader equipment of your choice and they should have a resize or swaging set up or die...it's worth the money...my 2 cents worth. The signature of Glock fired brass is the "belling" at the base...so sort accordingly. Best of luck to you. Ciao.
  3. Glocked brass...pisses me off!!! I reload ( mostly range brass in both .40 and .45 for my STI's) and a quality control aspect I use is this. 1. Check the brass before reloading ( I use a Dillon SDB) 2. Once I've reloaded my ammo I check it using a CP Chamber Gauge AND in the chamber of the gun I'm using..yes I take the barrel out of the gun to do this. There have been cases that will pass through the CP Guage....but the brass has streched giving a round that is longer than the hood of the barrels chamber. 3. I clean the round and make sure that the rims are clean as to get a good extraction. I hope that this helps. Ciao.
  4. Do you have any pictures of your fine creation? Ciao.
  5. As a fellow Aussie.....welcome to the forum! Just to show how the world has has gotten smaller. I'm an Australian citizen.....living in Canada....with Italian parents...shoots IPSC (Standard and Open Class)meeting fellow shooters on a California based forum. As for my two cents worth..I'd go with a STD length...you can always shorten the top end....or get another top end latter. By the way..I'm partial to 9 Major as opposed to .38 Super. Ciao.
  6. Hi there and thanks for rolling by my profile page.

I've maxed your rating as to say Hello.

    Ciao.

  7. Wow..it seems that my absence from this forum has not diminished the passion on this subject. I've been playing with my STI Open gun for the past couple of weeks...so I've been away from this forum..sorry. It apears that the STI issue regarding match ready functioning "out of the box"..is still out there. Has anybody tried STI's new Apeiro..with the Aluminum Grips....????....just wondering. Ciao.
  8. Nice pic.

I maxed your rating as too has 'hi".

  14. Welcome..I think you will find a good many Canadians on this forum. The biggest games up here are IPSC and Action Pistol matches..I think you'll be at home on this forum. Once again welcome. Ciao.
  15. I'm keeping my "powder dry" on this issue. I'd like to see STI put out a metal (and stippled grip)....but I'm not holding my breath. I love my STI Eagle...it has almost no original STI parts left on the gun...so STI has room for improvement. Ciao.
  16. We're like fine wines...just keep get better with age.....and then we turn into vinigar.

    Ciao.

  17. How are things going between you and your new gun?

    Ciao.

  18. Wow..a blast from the past...Sims Vibration control rings...they work miricales on my cd's...wonder if they'll do the same for my guns? Thanks and Ciao.
  19. It's a small and fast job....perfect for a locksmith. Remove the mainspring assembly and note where the grip safety is engaged. Drill a small hole on the top if the mainspring housing...generaly on side away from the mainspring retention pin. Drill the hole deep enough to hold a 1/16" diameter pin made fron your favorite metal or old drill bit. Make long enough of a pin( 1/8") protruding from the top of the mainspring housing so when reinstalled the pin ..Pins down your grip safety...now you have a "pinned grip safety on your 1911"...Please consult with someone who allready has one and check to see if it's something you realy want....all of my guns are "pinned"...but that's just me. Please be carefull and safe. Ciao.
  20. You put a Steel SVI grip onto your STI upper...and your STI magazines fit......????? I'm confused and a good a little envious. Ciao.
  21. Yes..I put the DAA Adjustable on .40 Eagle....it's awsome!! Ciao.
  22. Well, ignore the fibre optic insert on the front sight when it comes to distance and use the front/rear sight as as traditional sight. Don't forget to chamber check your ammo using the barrel of the gun. I double check my match ammo. First check using my Dillon guage and then in the barrel of the gun. Sometimes it will pass throught the Dillon..but not throught the gun barrel. Hope that things go smoother today. Ciao.
