  1. Hmmmmm.... I've allways found that going from my 6" .45 to my 5" .45 with the same load is a drop of 45-60 fps. Now mind you, I'm powerfactoring "old school" at 180+....so a few fps isnt going to drop me into minor.....just say,n

    Wait time.

Oooooops'. You never know who's watching. Hey, 8 months is still pretty good.
  3. $$$$$$$$ It all depends on how much you want to spend.
  4. The Tactical STI maybe a good choice...given your new parameters. A Sure-Fire light will be a great addition
  5. Yup......I've almost got mine paid off....almost I'll hopefully have my SV by Oct of 2013
  6. Well, if your buddies Inifity floats your boat....start saving your penies. A 2011 paltform will work for you.....it's just a matter of deciding which one
  7. OK, that solves my question. I'll be ordering 5-6 mags in the new year I never thought I'd say this....but I can't wait till my 50th
  8. Hmmmmmmm......... Some thing to try once I get my new gun. I'm currently running my STI Eagle in .40 ( this will become my back up gun) If I can get 5 of my STI's to run.....that gives me options
  9. Well, I'm proabily looking at November of 2013......so your advice is well founded
  10. I use a Guga Ribas.....One holster works for all my single stack and 2011 guns
  11. Thanks Guy's. I'll order 4-6 mags after Christmass. As for checking the fit and finnish (feed lips and tube dimensions)....that's for sure!!
  12. Sometimes I find that my "head" is getting in the way of my game. I use a Yoga routine of "square breathing" just before I'm on the deck. I breathe in on a 4 count.....hold for a 4 count...exhale on a 4 count...hold empty for a 4 count. I'll do 4-6 reps of this I found that it clears my head and gets the body pumping...without exertion. Just say'n
  13. Hi everyone. I'm proud to say that I've ordered up and just about paid for my new SVI gun The question is...mags?? I shoot IPSC up here in Canada and I fall in to the box rules for a " Standard Class Gun". So, Im guessing the SVI 124mm Mag ( 10 round configuration only!!!) I currently use Gramms' goodies on my STI gear....they work %100 of the time!! So the question become...do I keep the new mags from SVI stock...or do they too need a little help. By the way, the reason I switched to the Gramms' in my STI gear was that I found that both the springs and followers were inconsistant. Anyway, any advice from my fellow forum members would be appreciated
  14. lONG TIME NO SEE :-))

How is the Apiero working out for you??

I'm in the process of crossing over to the "Dark Side" and selling off just about all my STI gear...and going SV.

    How are you doing??

  15. IT'S NOT A TUMOR

Hi Guys. I had a Custom 5.1 built last year. As far as getting your moneys' worth.....you may need to spend a few bucks as to extend the life of your gun. Better internals shuch as Hammer,Sear,Safety and Internal and external barrel. Airsoft Surgeon is going to be your new buddy! Best of luck to you.
  17. Hi guys'.....I swear that I had the same subject last week on this forum. Anyway, Ive been using the DAA thumb rest for quite some time....I love it!! Now having said that....I've ordered an SVI non adjustable rest on the gun that I've orderd from Brandon. The reason is......an adjustable is great but...I've had others ( with simular sized hands as myself) use my guns....and they didnt need to adjust the thumb rest. I think that unless you have really small hands or short thumbs a rest is going to give you more problems thaqn it solves. Because in order to access the rest....you will be compromising the grip that you've been using successfully. But to each his own....if you can try before you buy. I'll attach a pic of my beast onto this posting.
  18. Open Guns.....are the Top Fuel Dragsters of the gun game!! It sounds like a good deal.....but check the gun and mags carefully.
  19. Like I said.....If STI had one, I would get one......and modify it. As I said I'm getting my last gun....an SVI with an Agressive Grip....and other goodies!
  20. A fellow Aussie. I'm an Australian, living in Canada....with Italian ( Australian Citizens) parents....that's why I do IPSC.
  21. Ok, I get it. I wish that STI had been able to give their customers the quality and variety of SVI when it came to their grip. But given the issue of both cracking and a total lack of texturing......is it any wonder that some of their loyal clients ( hell, again I own 4 of their guns)start looking ellswhere. I mean, when was the last time that anyone saw a %100 bone stock STI gun at a match....they've all had something done.
  22. I got tired of waiting ....so I thought about an SVI Grip on my STI upper ....then I thought.......what the hell, just get a compelete SVI gun and be done with it!!
  23. I think, that given the rule change, these should become standard equipment ...like Magwells and Ambi Safeties
  24. Well, I've filmed myself with my gun (with thumb rest) and with my budies' gun...sans rest. I wish I still had the video.....but you could see the difference. Both the follow up shot and cycle of the gun were deffinetly smooooooooooother! He's going with a thumb rest for the upcoming ipsc season.
