  1. I have a integrally suppressed 10/22 barrel (LRM Vidar) and a screw on can (Tactical Innovations Quest). The integral system has a ported barrel and is Hollywood quiet - more quiet than the screw on. The only problem I have with the inegral system is the accuracy isn't all that great. I originally had a stock Ruger stainless barrel that shot a lot better than LRM system. If you are looking for the most accurate combo, I'd pick an accurate barrel, have it threaded and buy a screw on can. I got the Quest because it is stainless and can hold up better in full auto. If I were only doing semi, I'd stick with aluminum.
  2. Yes, although not as bright as the Eotech, I have never had it wash out in the sun and I have shot it in some pretty sunny places. Doug Awsome. Thanks.
  3. Is the illumination bright enough to see under full sunlight?
  4. While the Magpul works, it seems to be a tighter fit with sharp edges. It works fine with good mags with smooth interior walls which is most mags. The Magpul wouldn't work with my 45 round DPMS mag without modifying it. The CMMG dropped right in and didn't need any fitting. Anti tilt qualities are equal but CMMG seems more forgiving and looks cooler if you're into that shinny look.
  5. I've been using a Magpul 93 for the last 4 years. Well built and rock solid. I think having an adjustable stock is a must. Sometimes they have you shooting in strange positions where you might want to change the length so you're more comfy.
  6. I have 6 lowers with DPMS parts kits. They went in easy and haven't given me any problems since, not to mention they are less expensive than the others. You could find them for less than $50. 2 of my lowers have the original hammer and trigger parts which work with 9mm uppers since the hammers don't have a notch. Like all products, you fill find a few people who had issues with this kit.

    June Snow

Snow in June...I wonder how cold it would be without global warming?
  8. I bought a couple from CDNN around 5 years ago. They all dropped freely. I put a magpul follower and ISMI spring in it. It ran great for almost one year then I started getting double feeds. I measured the lip opening and it was wider than the other mags. I decided to look for something with a longer life span instead of bending the lips back and gave an unused mag to my buddy and it has worked fine for him for almost 3 years with stock guts. I guess it's a hit or miss. I've since switched to PMI and it's worked flawlessly for 4 years.
  9. I bought one last year for my 2011 and like it a lot. It took 4 months but it's worth the wait. I ordered it with an extra magazine but one of them was very tight and required a little fitting. I tried to contact Marvel about it but their customer service is awful so I decided to fix it myself. Out of 1000 rounds, I remember 2 jams but I clean it after 200-300 rounds.
  10. I have played around with mine a few times for fun during practice and the only time I needed to use it for a match was the roller coaster stage at the 2007 SMM3G. I never had a problem with it but I always use the provided lube. It proved itself to be worth every penny when I didn't have to do a reload on that stage.
  11. I really like them a lot but I wish they could be consistent. They had 4 of them on one stage at the SMM3G one year. They all seemed to fly nice and high for everyone else but me. I had one only go around 7' high and towards me and there wasn't any wind. Well, I missed it because I engaged other targets before coming back for that flipper. It was a 30 second stage but I got a 10 second penalty. OUCH!
  12. I have 2-1187s so that makes me a bona fide 1187 owner.
  13. Too bad they weren't registered machine guns. Now that would've been a find.
  14. It works like a standard charging handle and isn't part of the bolt so it is stationary. It is pretty beefy and heavier than a standard upper. It's different but I don't know if I'd go as far as saying it's better especially if you're used to the standard charging handle. I think I could use a standard charging handle with a tactical latch faster than I could unfold the side charging handle and rack it. I don't like the little flap where the standard charging handle would go because it always seems to open just when you try to close the upper down to the lower.
  15. I started with a 40 Edge and had a 38 super barrel made for it. My gunsmith (who is very good and very trustworthy) said that isn't a problem because the rim on the 38 super. It worked great for 4 years. When I got tired of not getting my brass back and the prices went up 50%, I decided to get a 9mm barrel. My gunsmith told me it can be done but there's a good chance it won't be reliable. He offered to do it but couldn't guarantee it. I decided to pay more money for the reliability and I got a 9mm upper. I've had it now for 3 years and the gun works great with both uppers and I don't have to worry about changing the sight settings.
  16. Lean forward and hang on. Plate_Rack.wmv
  17. That would be awsome if HK makes some 40 round magazines with the same style as their 30 rounders. I like using the coupled magazines because it serves as nice support when prone. I use HK mags with Arrendondo mag bases. I noticed the 1st round moving forward but only when it is down loaded and not when loaded to capacity. I've tried Arredondo mag couplers on standard aluminum mags and HK mags and the mags would slip no matter how much I tightened them. I now use the Mag Grip coupler and haven't had any slipping issues.
  18. No hostility here. I'm just presenting what I experienced with what I thought were brand new SPS tubes. If your Toyota fell apart tomorrow (which is impossible with a Toyota), I'm sure you'd be saying you are not impressed with Toyota and regret making the change. If I do find out my tubes were not really SPS, I woundn't mind trying some real ones. I think a lot of us could benefit from a 21 round magazine.
  19. I bought them brand new. Maybe they were fake SPS magazines but who would do such a stupid thing?
  20. I hope SPS is making their mag more durable. I bought a couple 3 years ago in 38 super/9mm. They worked fine at first but the lips started to spread and I was getting jams within a year. Also, the finish started coming off at the lips. Needless to say, I'm was not impressed with SPS magazines.
  21. M4 ramps are on both the barrel and upper. It's OK to use a barrel with M4 ramps and an upper without them. It's not OK to use an upper with M4 ramps and a barrel without them because that combination creates a step where the tip of the round could get stuck as it feeds. If you must have a billet upper and both upper and barrel with M4 ramps, Vltor makes a billet upper with M4 ramps.
  22. I agree with Kelly. All shotguns suck!
  23. Nice. I put an order for one this week. From my poor showing at the SMM3G, I know I need more practice and that would be a cheap way to do it. Now if I could only find the time for it.
  24. Jobob, if you don't feel confortable taking it apart, for god's sake, don't do it. Nobody would want you stuck with an unusable shotgun. I e-mailed Shawn last week to see if he could help but haven't heard back from him. I'm sure he's pretty busy.
  25. The TS and TI tables did not seem proportionate to me. I thought I counted 13 rifles on the TS table and there were 149 competitors which means the top 8.7% got a rifle. It looked like there was a $1500 rifle and the the lowest probably around $700. The TI table only had 1 rifle and 21 competitors which means the top 4.8% got a rifle and as Kurt mentioned, it was a $700 rifle. Please excuse all the math, I'm an engineer and bored at work. I know balancing out the prize table is not an easy task and I'm glad I don't have to do it, but I can help with the math next year if they need it.
