  1. The stuff I found seems to be the same stuff 3-Gun Gear uses, very sticky. I got it to use on my mag pouches and holster on my limited setup so it sticks better to my CR belt. I didn't realize I could use it with the side saddles until I got a backup shotgun and wanted to put the side saddle on it without having to buy a new one.
  2. Home Depot or Lowes. They come in a roll but you have to buy both sides and you'll have extra.
  3. It is really hard to get the OAL Length and functioning correct without the whole gun to test fire. The work on my shell carrier was well done. That's what I was thinking also. One second on the grinder and the problem was solved...no biggie.
  4. How long do those Rem dummy rounds last? I had someone make me some dummy rounds but the rims didn't last long. I guess I practice too much.
  5. From the picture, it looks like the CASV-M will raise your scope (probably another 1/2"). If you get the Larue, the total scope height will be 2" from the flat top. I use the Larue with a 1.5" rise and that works for me but others prefer the model with a 1.93" rise. It comes down to preference. Because of the additional 1/2" rise, it might not co-witness but I don't know how well the co-witness concept would work with a 1.25 power scope.
  6. I sent my trigger group to him last November for a trigger job and carrier mod. He said it would take 2 weeks but it took 4-5 weeks because of Thanksgiving. He said the trigger job would smooth everything out and reduce the pull to 3.5 lbs. It came back very smooth but broke at 4.5 lb - 5 lb according to my Lyman digital trigger pull guage. It was so smooth, it felt lighter so I was happy with it. The carrier came back a little long and was hitting the next round in the tube and caused a jam but little grinding took care of that. Even though everything didn't come out perfect, I was happy with the job. The carrier came back with a sand blast finish. If you want a mirror finish, expect to do it yourself or see if he could do it.
  7. I've been using ALTA elbow and knee pads. The knee pads aren't the slip on type so you don't have to take you shoes off. They are pretty comfortable and stay in place when adjusted properly. The elbow pads are slip on but aren't that comfortable but I put them on when I'm on deck and take them off after the stage so it doesn't bother me too much.
  8. If your barrel came with a front sight assembly, I'd grind it down. If not and your barrel has a mid length gas system, I'd go with a low profile like a Larue. This gives you the option to run a longer FF. If your barrel has a rifle length gas system, you could go with any gas block. There are standard alum ones for around $35. If you like to tinker with stuff, get an adjustable block from JP.
  9. I think some matches won't let you shoot a shotgun that has a greater capacity than 8+1 for tactical even if you download it. Determine which matches you want to shoot and check their rules. If there wasn't a limitation, I'd go with a 9+1 since you have a 24" barrel. I think it just looks better because it will be flush with the barrel but that's me. Plus its nice to have to option to load more than 9 rounds in the shotgun during the course of fire but make sure you start with 8+1.
  10. I use the 44" Blackhawk padded weapons case, which holds my pistol, shotgun and rifle - all in padded compartments. I like to carry all my weapons in one bag and carry the rest of the stuff in another because carrying everything in one bag would be too heavy and less organized. I wish they made one longer. My 8+1 shotgun barely fits in there.
  11. My mom made me take one of those monsters to school when I was in grade school back in the 70s because I broke the cheap ones she gave me. I should ask her if she still has it.
  12. You just had to let my secret out. Now everybody will be using one of those.
  13. I agree with the majority here that it is a silly rule. I use 2-30s clamped together at the same elevation because the height works for me when I'm prone. If I offset them, it would be OK in one setting but too high in the other. They might as well make it mandatory for all reloads to come from the hip when prone because that's what I'll be forced to do. I don't know what the big deal is anyways. A couple of moths ago, we had to shoot prone on a down slope and the 45 round magazine height worked just fine. I used a single because I don't have 2-45s clamped together. I didn't notice a huge disadvantage only having 1 mag base touching the ground. They are making it sound like having 2 mags touch the ground is a huge advantage when it really isn't.
  14. I've had a 40 round PMI mag for 4 years and it runs like a top.
  15. I made my own and like it a lot. I've been using it since March of this year and haven't had it snag onto anything.

Awsome!!! I used to be in the aquarium fish hobby 12 years ago, specifically salt water reef systems. Those photos bring back memories. I miss my aquarium.
  17. I've been shooting Federal AE for years and it's worked fine for me. I'm now shooting Remington UMC because it was on sale. Black Hills red box 77gn is actually my ammo of choice but it is way too expensive now. I need to start reloading my own stuff.
  18. You forgot to mention the 3rd worst thing which is to finish the stage with extra rounds in the shotgun. I used to always load an extra round. 50% of the time, I needed that extra round. I recently decided to load assuming I won't miss. If I do miss, I'll make it up before I go empty. In other words, play to win.
  19. lol.. dream on.... I have been told twice over the last week, that due to some quirk on CA's laws, it is legal to purchase replacement parts for existing magazines and the parts do not have to be on an apples to apples basis. Some dealers have jumped all over this and are shipping unassembled high capacity magazines as 'replacement' kits to CA. This has apparently been going on for quite some time. I have not researched this yet, but it would seem to be an opportunity. Anyone from CA have any knowledge of this? I kow it is going on big time, but am curious as to the legality. Even if this is true, PMags came out after their ban so you would be ordering replacement parts for a magazine that is not supposed to be in the state. It might be a hard sell to tell people the spring in your PMag came from a legal magazine and you replaced the body and follower.
  20. Arrendondo's will work. I didn't have to grind anything but it did take some muscle to stretch them over the ribs. For me, these didn't work with aluminum mags. They allowed the mags to slip no matter how much I tightened them. With PMags, they work great because the ribs prevent them from slipping.
  21. I've wonder if it's a huge benefit for iron sight shooters since seeing 2" at 100 yards is impossible. We'll around 3 years ago, I shot a local match and saw a guy shoot a long distance stage with iron sights, dissipator upper and a sling which he had wrapped around his hand and was pulling on. The sling was connected to the butt stock and front sight assembly and it didn't have one of those hidden free float systems. He nailed everything from 100-200 yard flasher to 200-300 yard larues without any problem. It made me start to wonder if a free float played a major difference for me who shoots tac scope, but I wasn't about to change my setup which already had a free float. Oh ya, that shooter's name was Nils.
  22. I use a Magpul 93B. It has good cheek weld, solid and adjustable. It is a little heavier than most collapsible but I think it is insignificant especially since I'm not hiking 10 miles with my rifle. The 93B is not longer made and is hard to find but they replaced it with the UBR model which is a very good stock also. While I don't use the collapsible option too often, it does come in handy when you do need it. I remember one match were they had us shoot in an uncomfortable position. While taking a sight picture, I could not find a position that worked for me. I shortened the stock and it made a huge difference.
  23. Scout454, do you have a photo of that setup you could post? What is the height from the center of the rings to the top of the upper?
  24. Do you guys mount it directly on an A3 without rail extensions or risers? I have an IOR 1.1x-4x and have the rear of the scope line up with the charging handle. I wouldn't be able to do this without a Larue mount and they don't make them in 35mm.
