  1. Reach inside and press the shell catch and release each one from the loading port.
  2. FWIW I have the Tac30 and the MTAC. I like the MTAC better.
  3. I'll shoot the clays and then move on to the steel. I might try to load one between each clay, but two seconds is going to be a lot faster than you think. I think the fast way to do it would be shoot a clay then steel then load one and repeat, but I'm not good at flying clays.....so I won't. Edit- You never know, Kurt may have this set up for a bunch of doubles just to lure people into a horrible trap! Hard to say until you see it in person.
  4. It took me less than two hours going slow and easy with a file. Tape off the profile you want to create and its pretty hard to screw up. I used a vise to hold the receiver.
  5. The clay must break to score!! So what if you get a few clay shards in your forehead.
  6. Since you are in Idaho I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find some land to shoot out to 4-500 yards. Get a 10" steel plate and practice shooting at that. The mini popper from MGM is a good training tool also at 100 yards. Ironically, also in Idaho.
  7. I will not know the exact max distances on rifle flasher tgts until we set the steel. Right now I'm thinking in the 300 to 350 yd range. The slug tgt distances will be 50 to 75 yds. The trap is a Promatic sporting clays trap. The tgts will fly perpendicular to the firing line. The trap will activate on the start signal and throw ten clays one every two seconds in the Pro match. This stage is all Kurt Miller's and I'm looking forward to shooting it! Are those slug targets full size ipsc steel or smaller like a BC zone target?
  8. I can't speak for the Mossberg, but I've never heard it described as soft shooting. I'm not one to jump on bandwagons either. But some big names are moving to the versa max and I don't believe they would do it without good cause. As always, the best advice is to try both first and decide which is best for you.
  9. Try replacing the standard spring with the Browning Gold spring, then run it with the heavy piston. It will run anything.
  10. 8 in the tube is not a problem. The last one I shot they had an SLP stage gun. I don't think the power factor will be an issue unless you are running a bunny fart load that has clearly given you an advantage. Remember that you need at least one retention device on your holster. Also, the last one I shot they were checking trigger pull weights on all pistols and rifles. Have fun!
  11. My question is more intended for the holdovers, but I guess at that range it would still be negligible. Now that I think about it, you would probably keep it on 6x beyond 250 yards anyway.
  12. If you are zeroed at 6x, how much would you be off if you dialed down to 4x for say, a 200 yard target array?
  13. I shot an FN for a few years. I just switched to a versa max. I didn't think the FN kicked, but the versa max is ridiculously soft shooting. I can load it faster too. I've also shot some pretty light loads in it without malfunction.
  14. I get good results with the Remingtons. No problem out to 100+.
  15. You can get one at brownells pretty cheap if you get the discount.
  16. From the website: Stages will simulate real Zombie attack situations and even include scenarios involving knives, baseball bats and swords. What can be more fun than that? I can't wait to attack a spinner with a baseball bat and I'm taking a samauri sword to that swinging bridge!
  17. I've only seen them in 100 and 600 packs. Like this: Manventure Outpost Edit- Not sure if you meant for reloading or not.
  18. Great tip! I tried this Friday. There is no doubt when you get a good hit on one because it goes zinging! Cheap and challenging, I like it.
  19. Here is a picture of the shell catch. The two on the right were about the size of the one on the left before I opened them up.
  20. I thought he said kissing ass, are you sure he said kicking? LOL Pat's right though, its not bragging if you can do it, and he does it well.
