Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Just talked to a DPMS rep,and was told that other chamberings will be available sometime next year.Im getting impatient. I know that the BBL extension is quite different on the G2,and have not seen or found anyone making an aftermarket barrel yet. I'm thinking of doing another Grendel build, but if I could get a G2 in 308 and get a barrel in 6.5CM I'd rather go that route.has anyone heard any news or rumors?
  2. While I agree not to cut round counts,I dont think we should base a decision not to go to XX match because of a lower round count. The situation we are in can also bring more creativity to a stage with less rounds and still be fun and more technical. We have all seen stages with only 15-20 rifle but from tricky spots. Making the decision to go to war on a target is up to the shooter in X number of rounds vs. score. Would I rather stand in one spot and shoot 100 rounds or 20 rounds from 5 spots with movement and transitions? I really like the spin that the Purgatory Flats HAH added to 3 Gun.Physical requirements on the shooter. Just dont see a lot of that, and could be a good substitute for the ammo shortages. Any locical club or MD knows the current situation will not help build this sport or bring new shooters. Dynamic to match outweigh any high round counts in my book. But of course just my take at it. Austin
  3. The tragedy today showed the purest form of a Coward and EVIL.God Bless those families, and know that the whole nation mourns with you,it has affected all of us.As for the Coward,You have been judged and sentenced.Eternity in HELL begins today.
  4. Always good to see a positive reaction from a DQ.However I wont judge anyone no matter how they act the first X minutes or if they leave. I know that when I have a bad stage, that I look like a sore loser, however that isnt the case, thats me figthing me and trying to just burn it off so I dont sit and dwell and can refresh for the next stage. There is also no excuse to sit and be a bump on a log all day or argue with the RO. But to some going home can be ammo to battle that inner demon and overcome it.
  5. All great stuff. I like to work on one puzzle/area at a time. I will break the pieces apart, running the course dry a handful of times,or until I can have everything feeling smooth. Then piece it back together and analyze the outcome with live fire. Amazing how much only 50 rnds. will get you. Having a friend, or video to critque everything you are doing in my book is VERY valueable. Texas Stars, etc. are a lot of fun and all,but to burn 100 rounds to shave .XX seconds as opposed to really breaking down fundamental shooting/movement is worth a lot more. Amazing how much of shooting is Mental over Physical ability.
  6. I dont think anyone will disagree with this Mark. I'm Not trying to "dump" any complaints to the folks at rio and figured that was the spin everyone would take, and for that I apolgize. Trying to think outside the box,Travis G. is Mr.Ironman himself, but can pull off a hell of a match and still shoot his match. If there is ANYTHING I need to help with to get a spot for SMM3G let me know ill be there.PM or email snafu_360@hotmail.com
  7. Its all points understood, and thanks for the replies. Its easier said then done but, more days=more people involved=more $$=bigger sport. Again im not trying to rant because I have seen how much you guys put in, and for that I thank you. Its a reality of how big this sport has become for us as shooters along with MD's. Fighting for a spot to shoot a match IS my biggest rant with this sport. I want to shoot, thats all *Edit* I want to shoot and enjoy the sport and help it grow anyway I can*
  8. I'm sorry to complain, but why haven't matches like these adopted what Ironman does?? 2 days of TO,2 days all other divisions? We all know all 4 days will fill..Lets FILL them! I have to hope my lucky rabbit foot still has a little more left in it to get my lotto number drawn to shoot matches these days. Likely 70% of this match will be TO,which leaves any other division shooters at home on the couch wishing for a spot.(I even seen Chuck A. didn't get in!?) I understand the amount of effort that's required to put on this caliber of match, and for that I thank all you MD's. Just a bummer is all I can say,and a frown for the progression of the sport. Matches need to progess and evolve with the sport, its passing them! Please shed some light on what i'm missing here. Thanks guys, gals,MD's and everyone who gives to the sport. Have fun at the match and keep my fingers crossed for next year.
  9. If you guys get any video up..post some links! Bummed I didint make this one!
  10. Just got the heads up on this match but next year I WILL be going! Hope it goes well, and love the spin your doing with it! A balance of physical demads/markmanship really proves a top shooter.
  11. Magwell makes it alot smoother for sure! Jacks magwell(JT Engineering) has been working wonders for me. Chuck, gotta say that the red dot for me is HUGE for tough slug targets. The stock sights on a Saiga just don't quite pull it off.
  12. Shooting single handed while running is no easy task,so don't get too down on that. Dry fire is your best friend here, put targets up around the house and really drill the movement in your head.Like steve said, your building that subconcious. After i really started to bend the knees and drop my center coming into a position,my shooting became better. And as always..Smooth is Fast!
