  1. Having options is great to have. Practically speaking, MOST situations requiring over 30 rounds will offer an opportunity to reload while you are moving, making two 30 round magazines just fine. Adding a 48 rounder will cover 99.9999% of situations you will encounter. And I always carry an oh shit magazine that I don't PLAN on using on the stage. So if you plan to start with a 48 rounder and reload into a 30 rounder, that's a good time to also have a 20 rounder in your back pocket, "just in case".
  2. I'm in the same boat. I want an Eagle in 9mm, but I don't want it laying around on my bench for months, taunting me, with NO MAGAZINES! I don't know about aftermarket mags, but if you want to pay a premium, you MIGHT find some in the classifieds. As for 9 vs. 40, it completely depends on what you want to use it for. I load .40 for my Edge pretty light for 3gun and it works great. Either way, this panic stuff has gone off the deep end.
  3. FWIW my shirt is a Gemini and I'm very happy with the fit and appearance. I didn't have to design it though.
  4. I've used cases of them through an SLP and a Versamax. If you are talking about the blue hulled slugs, they're great.
  5. The eye relief and field of view on the MTAC are fantastic. The main differences between the two are: slightly better glass on the MTAC, the MTAC has a knob on the side of the scope allowing quicker adjustment and on/off for the illumination, the windage and elevation knobs are much better on the MTAC, and to adjust the magnification on the MTAC, there is a stand alone ring for that, unlike the Tac30 which turns the entire housing. For only $100 the upgrades are well worth it. Burris will stand by their product too.
  6. I can't believe I'm going to miss this one for the first time in 4 years. Have fun everyone.
  7. Are you going to have the colored shrouds too, or will it be carbon fiber only?
  8. Mark, Can you take the tube on and off fairly easily? I have to break my shotgun down to fly with it to get everything to fit in my hard case.
  9. Tombstone, and unfortunately I was old enough to see it in the theater.
  10. FYI, I got the following from Rob. He said the paper count may be reduced. There is not a specific round count as that depends on what target is shot with which gun. As of right now there is: 98 paper (R or P) 41 clays (S) 19 4x10 Steel (P or S) 19 10x10 Steel (P or S) 6 10" Round Steel ® R-Rifle P-Pistol S-Shotgun There is additional steel that can be shot with the shotgun There is no stage with more than 8 clays. or pistol though. The match is scheduled to conclude between 4-6pm depending on the competitor turnout. First shot at 8am.
  11. I'll be there. Does anyone know the shotgun ammo situation around Orlando or St. Augustine???
  12. Coming from someone who worked his ass off, put off family, work, and pretty much everything else to get into this match I'll say no it's not fair. It really takes the wind out of your sails for making the top 25. I feel duped and disappointed.
  13. I had a welded lifter that ran just fine for about a year. Then it started failing about 1 in 10 rounds. Bought a new factory lifter and the problem went away. I had changed the springs to no avail.
  14. Yeah, that's pretty brutal. I'll do it for one year. Of course, allowing I can make the cut in the first place.
  15. I got the invite via email today. Pro series will cost you $1300 if you make it past the qualifier! Who's going to Florida?
  16. Are you holding the handle down long enough for the powder to fill the case? If you go to fast, you'll pull the case out before the powder is finished dropping. Or, are you overfilling the case?
  17. I'm tired of waiting. Can I have one NOW!! Nice writeup and great pictures. I don't think I'd run that cap with the sling stud though. You'd be begging for a ......wait for it.......slingshot! Mark, are these going to be available in multiple lengths? 10 rounder?
  18. I often hear people argue "what do you need an assault weapon for" or "there is no reason whatsoever for those uber high ultra super capacity 15 round magazines". Well speeders kill thousands every year, so why can most cars go faster than 70 mph?
