  1. The only thing Sig on Maxs gun is the Sig stamp on the slide.
  2. Inside Knee is more for real life not games. If you loose your balance you fall toward the down knee. So you fall you fall behind cover. If you fall and to your outside knee you fall out of cover and get new holes for your trouble.
  3. You will end up with a 2011 eventually. So start with a XDM 5.25 or M&P 5.0. That way you wont have to learn a new grip angle. Nothing against Glocks but they point funny when your used to a 1911 grip angle.
  4. The ones I have seen have cast frames not forged. I don't think they offer a forged frame model. Every external extractor 1911 makes the ghost of John Browning cry.
  5. Last year Caspian was selling some slide overruns that looked just like Sigs, the distinctive slide shape and external extractor cut were identical. I would bet Sigs frame and slides are made by Caspian. Only you can decide if its worth $1300.00
  6. A forged frame (Springfield) would always be my choice over a cast frame (Spartan, Trojan).
  7. Since it has IPSC in its name can we load 15 in our mags for the production division?
  8. I dont like Virgina count courses. I wouldn't care if USPSA got rid of them too. You can still shoot an El Prez and fire a makeup shot and you havent lost the original intent of the drill. If I see misses and I still have rounds in my mag I want to shoot some more. In the end the extra time will still separate the competitors.
  9. Browning is remaking the Auto-5 with essentially the Benelli recoil system. I wish they would offer a model of the new version set up for 3 gun. Of course they wont, I have always like the looks of the A-5.
  10. First you need 922R parts so you could put the mag in legally.
  11. So are you looking through the sights at the target? What distance does this work at? Do you have a drill to train this focus type?

    Why no Combat II..?

Hopefully the big rule rewrite in IDPA will make the Full rail Shadow legal. (Dont tell me its legal now as long as its 39oz. I must have heavy one because with no grips or mag its over)
  13. The common wisdom is that splits don't win matches. So are you saying you would rather have slower transitions and faster splits?
  14. I use untunned Rescomp bodies, Bolens 3mm basepad and grams spring and follower. Its 21+1 startable 20 reloadable. I couldnt get the bolens follower not to flip and turn it into a salt shaker, but it was 21 reloadable but not 22 startable with the bolens spring and follower when it worked.
  15. I know this is too easy of a solution but just try Federal Bulk pack ammo. The walmart 550 packs. It runs my Buckmark perfectly in all weather.
  16. I had a Beretta 391 Teknys deconstruct on me. The fancy replaceable rib would not stay on the gun. Its hard to shoot a round of clays when the rib falls off every 3-5 shots. Also the gas piston gets really carboned up like an AR bolt. Beretta bought it back from me because they didn't have fix. I took the money and bought a Benelli SuperSport. Its hasn't jammed ever, even using 1oz 3 1/4 Dram shells. It hasnt deconstructed either. It kicks more than a gas gun but less than an Over/Under. For clay games nothing is better than an Over/Under. I wish Benelli sold 21 inch barrels for the SuperSport, I would make it a 3Gun specific shotgun.
  17. I always wondered which 1911 was the most undercut. I think its a les Baer.
  18. I would get two barrels one .40 and one 10mm. The 3oz weight is only significant if you have buggy whip arms.
  19. 2.9 grains at 1.15 OAL. The only warning is that it tumbles in some guns. But no pressure signs in anything.
  20. I use clays loaded out to 1.15. Clays is faster than N320. N320 and lead gives off a lot of white smoke. Clays smokes less than 320 with lead.
  21. Hopefully these Tigers will recognize that light rails on metal framed pistols have proliferated and should no longer be excluded en masse.
  22. When the gun is shouldered your nose should be 1 to 2 inches away from the thumb knuckle of your trigger pulling hand.
  23. They were sold as kits 15 years ago. You have to buy it in kit form not as a finished gun.
  24. Budsgunshop shows a skew for the .40 so it will be out eventually.
