  1. Port Malibar USPSA is the Saturday before. 70 miles I think they have steel the next Sunday. Port Malibar 3-gun is the Saturday of. 70 miles CFRPC USPSA is the weekend after. 15 miles
  2. Take a look at the Spikes Tactical 22's. I built one up with a SS fluted barrel and JP hand guard and its sexiest the most fun rifle I own.
  3. This sure looks like a Millet with a different reticle.
  4. That had to be the meanest or funniest comment in a long time. By the way when you load a 222 to 223 length, it looks like a 80 gr. round for the 600 yard line. Was a beautiful looking cartridge.
  5. I have always used and love JP triggers, however I played with the AR Gold last week at Ft.Benning and it is so far the nicest break and reset I have ever felt. Have not played with one in live fire but it seems like the new standard. http://americantrigger.com/ Note: I don't own one yet, but it seems nice. Note: I prefer a JP single stage for action shooting, and a Jewel 2 stage for High Power.
  6. I used Power pistol for a few months 3 years ago. Made Major no problem 8.2gr. @ 1.16" with a zero 125JHP. Less pressure indications than True Blue, Or Silhouette. Very soft feel with good gas volume, worked the comp well & a good consistent dot track. Boomy, could feel muzzle blast in face. Left gun and C-More lens covered in Pink residue? I like HS-6 and 3N37 better. I have settled on HS-6 for the past 3 years for my short Bedell with popple holes.
  7. Back home in nice WARM Florida. Have a half smile half frown stuck on my face. To everyone, All the RO's that put up with my kicking myself the entire first day{ ya you Trapper}, Linda, Sgts. Hampton and Johnson, the cute blond, the generous sponsors, The GI that got stuck cleaning the AK's and M203, Teran for showing me what fast is, Thank you. The Army and AMU have set a new bar for matches. I am thinking a dozen slugs off the bridge ?? I do like the new Horner scoring system, seems to add just a bit of accuracy challenge to the game. May want to use fault line boards instead of rope, have great video of getting kicked by Trapper and Jack T. taking a header. Challenge coin? I guess I shouldn't have ended up in Alabama the first morning, still debating who was navigating? WOW
  8. My V-Tac is covered with mud from the sandbags on stage 7 and scratches the roof on stage 8 at Ft. Benning, and I think I will just let the mud stay.

    EGW Die

What you describe is abnormal although I do see it every few hundred rounds. Generally the only time I get it is when I don't have a case aligned straight going into the die. When I have processed machine gun brass I have split allot of cases from overworking but nothing you can catch your nail on, and the brass doesn't seem to flow down although I never measure the length of fired cases. The pending case head separations showed a crack in the web & extractor groove. My 40 EGW die processed brass looks the same as my 9 you could have a bad die? Not likely but possible. Did some quick measuring, my brass measures a nominal. .386"-.388" at the web just before the groove. .339"-.341" inside the extractor groove. .372"-.375" below where the bullet swells the case. and .376"-.380" where the bullet is inside the case. Note this is multiple fired mixed range brass. The only dies I have used for 8 years are the U dies? Also note, I have had my fair share of case head separations in 9mm, .40 & 45.
  10. For rifle I had to polish the inside transition point of my powder die, where the sleeve meets the outer die the lip is to big and holds powder. Then run a dryer sheet through the entire powder drop assy. I thought it was that stupid reset, but its not. Also for rifle you have to count to 3 at the bottom of the stroke to let the powder run in.

    EGW Die

Brass is supposed to look like a coke bottle when resized with the U die, and a bullet is seated. It will be resized lower down the case than you are used to seeing with a normal die. When a bullet is inserted it will enlarge the case a couple of thousandths providing a good grip. Just ask to see some of my rounds next time your down here at a match.
  12. Looks like about 2.77" on the 30mm, center of bore to center of scope.
  13. Seems 2/3rds of the rifle topics are Optics related. Shouldn't we have an optics forum by now?
  14. I have a long neck and the SPR-E is what I use with my Millet. It was the recommended mount from LaRue it gives me the proper sight picture with the Millet. As to clearing the front sight, nothing will. The idea isn't to co witness like a red dot, you tend to look straight through the front sight and get just a ghost image from it.
  15. My problem with every side saddle I have ever used is the loop side attached to the gun just doesn't have enough cling, never the glue just the fabric. Every maker I have used I have seen this same problem at speed. The hook portion on some is beastly just not enough grab on the loop side. I will try this titanium stuff before drilling, but I am thinking screws are the way to go.
  16. I have yanked my sidesaddle off my Benelli M2 for the last time. I am thinking of drilling and tapping the receiver to add a couple of machine screws at the rear of the side saddle to secure it. Has anyone gone to this extreme? It only happens about every 10th time I aggressively empty the sidesaddle. It did cost me a match a few months ago. Although it looked hilarious on film with the saddle flapping around in recoil.
  17. They say the same thing every year then come out with a Hunting scope instead. Talking with the Trijicon reps for years at the SHOT show and they as a company seem to feel there variable power scopes are only made and used only for hunting.
  18. Now if I could only get the XTR reticle in my Accupoint with its ability to light up during bright sunlight? I tried out several illuminated scopes in the past year and found them severely lacking illumination for bright sun hoser stages. Had no problem last year at Ft. Benning, ran plates out to 400 almost one for one. My TR21R Accupoint has very positive and repeatable clicks and I just went to a 300 yard zero from the normal 250 and held over close in. However rumors of 600 yard paper are making me think an XTR isn't such a bad idea. When is the improved illumination due out?? Just think how nice it would be to have the Accupoint glass, a 30mm tube & the Trijicon illumination with the XTR reticle !! However found out today I may have to go to school for a few weeks in November which will destroy plans for Benning this year.
  19. The problem isnt them stabilizing. Its some of the light varment bullets blow up upon leaving the barrel when pushed hard out of a fast twist. Many high power shooters use varment bullets in 1-7.5 1-8 barrels at the short line.
  20. My fast twist rifles like 52gr. Hornady A-Max in front of 25gr. Ramshot X-Terminator Th A-max and v-max also come in heavyer weights.
  21. Any ideas about stages or when they will be posted? Its starting to get close to match time.
  22. Last years blue book 100%=$500 98%= $400 95%= $300 Add $50 for 9mm cylinder. Add about $80 for not converted. Add $75 to $120 for original box.
  23. Take a look at the Spikes Tactical 22's
