  1. Just don't try and mill Trijicons to narrow. Don't ask.
  2. Exactly duplicating big factory +P and +P+ loads is tough, they use custom blended powders they make or buy by the ton. OPD's +P+ load is awesome, but I wont try and duplicate anything for carry. Be very careful using the brass you find at matches, between myself and others we have left 10's of thousands of 9mm Major brass on the ground at CFRPC.
  3. U die is the trick for consistency with mixed brass. Also polish your powder/bell die down so it doesn't re-expand the brass so much, and bell just enough so you don't shave bullets.
  4. What area? Central Florida is as big as many states? There is a bunch of shooting down here, what time span?
  5. 2 hour drive, not bad unless you hit rush hour. Not worth it unless you are flying into MCO or driving up to see the mouse, or go to Sea World. No Harry Potter yet. The beaches near Sarasota are gorgeous, even nicer down by Sanibel/Cabitiva island. Sanibel has the best sand I have ever felt. Golf heaven. Lots of things and touristy things to do for kids. Wear LOTS of suntan lotion.

In my short gun with popple holes its the best I have found, and I tried most everything. Most reports seem to agree in a long gun with no holes seems to run dirty at the lower pressures.
  7. Weight is 10.25 OZ., Length 6.25", Diameter 1.25". Threaded 1/2x28. I am sure you could have a local guy turn one on a lathe to your specs.
  8. My TR21R has better glass than my TR24, 3 trips to Trijicon and never got the parallax out. Factory spec. for hunters? At 1 1/4 power the BAC works great for me using my 21, where the 24 has an "almost although not quite" true one power, more like 1.1 The TR21 is lighter, where the 24 seems tougher, however I have bashed my 21 with no problems in zero. I prefer the red triangle, works like a red dot close in and precise enough to make hits on LaRues at 350. Its a toss May want to look into the Meopta, the new Vortex PMI and new Burris xtr.
  9. It used to be VV N330. That is what I was told and yanked apart a round a few years ago to confirm, but I have heard they changed due to supply problems. Given where you are, you may look at what "fast" commonly used powder is available. Don't get locked into what Team Glock uses, they have to deal with things most shooters don't, like multi discipline shooting where accuracy can be paramount IE N330, or where some faster powders shoot much nicer but will fool people into protesting there loads as a really nice shooting super fast powder will seem like they are not making power factor. Not to mention any factory loads will have to work in all make and model guns, as well as meet SAMI pressure specs. Something many competition loads don't come close to.
  10. Spike has several different fake cans, some slip over your barrel and some just thread on the end and extend out. I had the same idea and stopped by his shop and played with several different models and found one that is very heavy. Mine threads on the end of the barrel and extends out about 5 1/2" its about 6" long and is quite a heavy chunk of aluminum. When threaded on the end of a 16" barrel it feels like a 20" mid-weight JP upper. I will stick it on a scale when I get home. Here is the rifle minus can. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84152&st=0&p=971514&fromsearch=1entry971514
  11. While the Arrendondos are OK, I really prefer the Dawson base pads, they match up nicely with the ICE magwell. The ICE magwell does not seem to be designed for mags without pads, its for Limited or classes where extended mags are allowed. Being able to clean my mags between stages with no tools using a solidly built and proven pad is just nice. The instructions on the ICE mention "some fitting may be required". I have had to mill a bit off the bottom of several slugs so the magwell sits tightly up on the frame, which will allow even stock mags to seat. I currently run one on a Limited 35 and a limited minor 3-gun 34, the ICE gives me a more solid grip and seems to lock in my index.
  12. It is generally easer and faster the paperwork with a trust or corporation, Many CLO's wont sign it. If the SBR and suppressor are in state it is much quicker. You purchase the SBR and suppressor from the class 3 dealer using your trust, then send off the paperwork to the ATF with a separate check for each stamp with your trust paperwork copies. Wait 5 months, then take your toys home.
  13. Hate to say it but Wolf slugs have worked great for me. They are not a full reduced recoil that will choke in many guns, but they are more like mid range.
  14. Red Triangle In even very low light the red triangle glows, in pitch black it glows with tritium. I am with Mark in that I prefer the TR21R or 24R, to tell the truth I keep going back to my old 21r over my new 24r. If Trijicon stopped saying it "cant be done" and put a nice hold over reticle in the accupoint series they would sell a ton of them. Now if you are in Texas, Arizona, or some other dust bowl, the green might be an option.
  15. Learn the dot. It will be quite a bit faster in the long run, and once you get your draw and recoil tracking where the dot is second nature it will speed up your iron shooting also.
  16. Tried then all and the Giraud is the best.
  17. JP 18" mid weight IS the perfect gun for everything from 4 to 400 yards.
  18. It almost looks like Dillon finally put a high pressure grease port on it. If it looks like a little ball with a swage around it that may be it?
  19. Yes it does. A long soft push is less violent, than a short hard push.
  20. I love Endine buffers, they have allowed me to beat shooters that were better than me because there endine buffers failed Pigtails don't make carbine gas systems much softer at all. Rifle length gas systems are the way to go if you want a soft shooting rifle. CTR stocks grace most of my rifles now, even my 20" ers. For the ultimate shooting match rifle you want it matched with your buffer. I prefer the lightweight JP stainless carrier and a standard carbine buffer, with the gas turned down to function with Wolf ammo which gives me just the right gas cushion with my reloads. Check the latest issue of front sight for a good article on comps.
  21. Due to ongoing back issues I just had to e-mail Linda and cancel out. One more spot filled from the waiting list. Just canceled my reservations for the match hotel also if someone needs a room.
  22. +1 tried it in my single six, shoots but lots of cracked/blown cases.
