  1. The Athletic Director of Marshall University has asked all of us who were on the 1971 Young Thundering Herd to please come to the home game on Sept. 22nd. My guess is they're planning some sort of memorial ceremony for Reggie.
  2. After being hospitalized last week due to a severe head injury suffered from a fall, Reggie passed away yesterday. A friend and fellow Young Thundering Herd teammate, Reggie was 66 years old. I know saying goodbye to people becomes more frequent the older we get, but this one was a real gut punch.
  3. They've certainly done excellent work for me.
  4. Have you tested the gun with other ammo? My Trojan loves the Hornady 125 gr. HAP bullet. It's a laser with the Wilson load.
  5. Mine is an early model and no matter what combination of mag catch, recoil/main springs, lubricants or ammo it will only feed reliably from 9-round magazines. It's even been back to STI to have the feed ramp recut, but it just seems to still prefer the 9 rounders. That's why I encourage others to experiment with whatever different types of magazines they can get their hands on as there seems to be no magic combination for this gun in the available 10 rounders. I've met a few other folks who've had this same problem so at least I know it's not just me having this issue.
  6. You're just going to have to experiment with what works for your gun using your favorite load. I never found a 10 round magazine that worked reliably for my STI Trojan and had to revert back to the Springfield Metalform 9 round units. I'd suggest asking around to see if you could borrow some different magazines from friends to test in your gun before making any purchases in quantity.
  7. I think it's an S&M kind of thing.
  8. The great thing about the Glock 17 is that you could use just this one gun across different disciplines to shoot a multitude of divisions. In USPSA it would let you compete in Production class while in IDPA it would be legal for Stock Service Pistol and Enhanced Service Pistol. Let's not forget about the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF) matches where you could use it in several classes depending upon your shooter classification (civilian or law enforcement). Check out the websites uspsa.org , idpa.com and gssfonline.com to get a better idea of what I'm talking about. A basic Blade-Tech OWB holster would serve you well for all these disciplines/divisions mentioned. Oh, should you decide to move on to something else later the 17 is a pretty awesome house gun as well.
  9. +1 Just bitterly disappointed that last minute (literally) health issues kept me from shooting this match for the first time since 2013.
  10. I guess he's REALLY a fan of his LCRx!
  11. Still quite a few spots available for those who are interested in shooting this match.
  12. Puts me in mind of the Post-It notepad commercial where a girl is trying out for a basketball team. She jumps and touches the backboad leaving a post-it upon which she's written, "Tomorrow I'll jump even higher." Good on ya!
  13. The Kimber is available in both a 2" and 3" barreled model.
  14. +1 on TK Custom. They've done work on my 686 and 686+ revolvers and their work is excellent.
  15. You might want to look into some thermal wear (both tops and bottoms) from Russell. They're available at Wal Mart and will provide some really nice insulation with the addition of only a very thin layer under your regular clothing. Then you could use any vest you please.
  16. Under IDPA rules would she have to be behind cover as well while reloading for you? I'm so confused.
  17. On the other hand, It'd probably make a good ballast weight for scuba diving.
  18. Not really a competition related question, but does anyone know if the HKS speedloader for the Colt Detective Special (DS-A) will work with the Kimber K6s?
