  1. Pick a technique and practice the hell out of it. You'll get just as many people that do the pinch the sides technique as the roll the thumb out of the way. Whichever you pick, practice it as much as you can. And when you're live ( whether practice or competition ) make sure it's the only thing you're concentrating on. Don't be going over stage plan while you're doing it. Make it a deliberate action that has your complete focus and should never AD. FWIW, i did the pinch the sides of the hammer with the index finger and thumb of the weak hand, pull back the hammer, pull the trigger, lower the hammer.
  2. Personally I just buy for myself. I want to have always have a supply that will last me 1-2 years if i can't get any more powder.
  3. the narrow middle on 9mm is normal. Do a search on "coke bottle effect" and you'll see all sorts of results. As far as the chips on the bullet tray....don't know what to tell you. I realize you bought something and you want it pristine, but the machine is meant to be used, and will have far more wear on it very soon. If it bothers you, call Dillon. Otherwise, just hit it with a file if the sharp edge is in a place where it may cut you.
  4. Gloating? OK. Sure, whatever. If someone doesn't want to hear an answer they may get, then they shouldn't ask the question. Oh yeah, and I was wrong, I now have 18 pounds of N320. So no, i'm not feeling as desperate as I was a month ago for powder.
  5. Came home today from a week long business trip to find the 8 lbs of N320 I ordered sitting here waiting for me. Add that to the 7 pounds i have in the garage and i'm set for a while.
  6. I run into this all the time. Enos is flagged as a Gun site, so a lot places will deny access due to "inappropriate content". While Doodie Project is open for business. If they only knew.........

  8. Shady Thanks. I'll be here. Paul, yeah, I looked at all of those parts. You can read it both ways where you need the dropper and plate, and you can read it where are you need is the powder funnel. I want to order just once. Hate to have reorder if i don't get everything i need first time around.
  9. I'm currently setup on my XL650 with a Mr Bulletfeeder in 9mm. I am going to start loading 40. I'm collecting everything I need ( dies, etc ) but I'm wondering what i NEED for the MR B to move over to 40. If I take the complete assembly and reuse it for the 40 ( yes, i know it's easier to buy a second one with another toolhead, etc, etc ) do I only need to buy the Mr B Power Funnel? Will all of the other parts including the collator plate work with 40? Once I start loading 40 I'm not going to be switching back to 9, so having a second toolhead setup complete is not what I'm looking for. I just wanted to know what parts I absolutely need to buy to convert 9 to 40.
  10. i've got the speckling on the underside of the beaver tail on my Stock 2. tried using Barricade, and some came off, but it's on their permanately.
  11. Look on the bright side, he wasn't wrong! It should reach 100 yards!
  12. Learn something new every day. My SP01 came right from CZC with the comp hammer already done, so i had no baseline to know. Thanks for the info Atlas!
  13. Kind of odd that you are down to a 4.5# DA and still at 3# SA. Mine is about 5.75/2.75, but i do have the Comp Hammer and Cajun Gun Works reduced power Trigger Return spring. I never went low on the main spring because i was using Winchester primers and needed the extra oomph. If you have not put in the Cajun RP-TRS, do it. You will drop 1/2# pull on both and it's a better spring than stock. You could also try the Short Reset Trigger mod from Cajun. I never did it, but guys have raved over it. Again, check your rules for IDPA, not sure if legal. For USPSA it is.
  14. I have one in my S2. I love it. I do have big hands/long fingers. I like it for this reason that Doc explains. I will not go back to the stock trigger.
  15. Here is a thought: Maybe the stage designer left it that way on purpose? Maybe his "intent" was to let people shoot with their arms through the port up to their elbows. Some of the videos i saw it looked far faster to go a knee from further back and shoot through the port normally. Either way, if he didn't intend for the stage to be shot that way, it's his fault for not restricting the view. Nothing in the rules to penalize someone for shooting it that way. It would not have been hard to attach something to the wall to restrict the vision so you couldn't do it.
  16. My eyes about popped out of my head when i saw the firing pin as a lube point on this diagram. If you oil the firing pin/firing pin channel on a CZ, you're asking for light strikes. You're not going to damage the gun, but you will eventually have a bad day at the range ruining your match results. I am speaking from personal experience. Keep it dry.
  17. I can also to attest to what a great guy Boyd was. I only shoot production, I don't have a lim, ss, open gun. Can't tell you how many times Boyd said to me, "you want to shoot my "insert gun here" at the next match? Just let me know". He will be sorely missed.
  18. That's the channel i've been watching! They have local station call letters on it, i just figured it was a local affilate. This is my new favorite station.
  19. Okay good to know, if that's what I did, that it should be an easy fix. I'm sure Kevin Toothman at USSA will have the correct tap. Is there any chance of finding out what size yours used? Sorry, not much chance. I'm sure if i called and asked he wouldn't know the size off the top of his head. i'd have the bring the gun in, it's 30 mins out of my way. If you don't get fixed up, let me know and i'll see if i can make a special trip out there, but it would have to wait a couple of weeks, i'll be traveling next week.
  20. i did the same thing, cross threaded one side. Took it a local gunsmith, he ran a tap down and clean up the threads. Was back in business within minutes. I have no idea what thread he used, but it was the correct one because the screw goes in fine now. Sorry, i'm not much help, but maybe it was the wrong sized tap you're buddy used?

    promag problems

http://www.gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=97_130 JFYI, the 18 round MecGar's will get you bumped to Open. The mags themselves are legal for Production, but they are just a wee bit too big, and will cause the gun/mag to not fit the box if you should ever get checked at a Major.
  22. When it comes to rules, just politely ask him to show you in the rulebook the rule that supports his conclusion. We have a couple of older gentlemen at our range. They both "know" the rules very well. Unfortuatenly they are quoting rules that changed years ago. So they were right, in 1999, but no to so much anymore. Usualy a polite "no sir, they changed that rule, it's now legal to do XYZ, check it out in the current rule book" usually quiets them down pretty quick because neither of them ever carries a rule book with them. Spot on. I couldn't agree with this statement more!
