  1. Not sure about the FP OAL issue, but what mags are you using? K10 or K40? If you're using K40's, you're going to have issues loading that long. Max OAL with K40's is 1.145. If you try loading 20 rounds at 1.175, you're going to get the salt shaker ( ie: rounds getting stuck in the mag tube ).
  2. I just wanted to clarify this statement for anyone that is unfamiliar with Production rules. You probably know the rule Eli, it's just your choice of words may confuse some. All DA/SA guns must start with Hammer fully down. There is no rule, in USPSA, that requires a Double action first pull. If a shooter wants to, they can cock the gun at the start and take all shots SA. In the five years I shot Production with a DA/SA gun, i probably did it maybe twice, both times on very long steel first shots. So odds are, you're going to be taking all of your first shots DA, but i wanted to make sure that those reading this that are unfamiliar with the rules know, there is a big difference between "starting hammer fully down" and "must start with a double action first pull."
  3. I've been using Movie Studio since i was using a Sony camcorder. I have my templates all setup so it takes me no time to edit a video. Hard to give up on that. I haven't tried GoPro Studio yet. So not sure how good or bad it is. Were you able to upgrade the camera to 720/240? is that a firmware update available for all GoPros, or just certain versions?
  4. My condolences. We had to put our Heidi to sleep in February after a long battle with canine insolinoma.
  5. Anyone else having an issue with "View New Content" not working? I see new stuff all over place if i go in manually, but if i click on View New Content, it shows April 12 as the last new content posted. This is happening on two separate computers and my Ipad. So it's not a Cookies problem. Is there something in my profile that could have changed? I guess I'll have to monitor this thread seeing as how i won't be able to go into View New Content to see if anyone replied!
  6. Wow, trigger job and grips ( we are guessing ) for $1900 for a .45? Seems pretty excessive. I got my .40 Limited from Buds Guns, put all Henning parts in it, did my own trigger job ( just basically polished everything inside ) and i might have gotten all the way up to 1900. But it's a 40, not a 45!!
  7. That is a very good idea. I think the 1080/60 is the fastest frame rate, but now you got me second guessing so i need to go double check. I agree, the difference between 1080 vs 720 is not noticeable. 120? that might be noticeable. I'm guessing you meant 720!
  8. Make sure camera is in 1080p and 60fps ( that's 60 frames per second ). That will give you best performance from that camera. For program, not sure which is best. I use Movie Studio Platinum 12.0 and have been happy with it. It costs money, cant remember how much, but not sure if it makes a difference or not on the quality of the playback. Keep in mind once you upload to YouTube you lose quality. At least i do.
  9. After i finished typing i realized you din't specify USPSA. This answer is for you if you are speaking about USPSA. I don't know IDPA, so if that is what you are shooting....I don't know. You're trying to compare things that really have no relevance on each other. If you're only looking at the guy who won ( i'm assuming that since you say he got 100% ), and your score, its not really the same. Your score is based on the top shooter PER stage. You add your total points per stage and that is your match score. The guy who gets the most points wins the match, so you put him at 100%. So yes, you can compare, but it is very hard to tell if you did better or everyone else did worse if you just look at the winner. What were the total available match points? Did both matches have the same total points available? Lets say both matches had 700 match points available, in the first match the winner got 620 of 700 available points, and the second match the winner only got 547 of 700 available points. So technically the winner of the second match did worse than the winner of the first match. You on the other hand went up, so you technically did better from match one to match two. IF the available points were the same. IF the total available points were different, you have to start getting into ratios and % of total points available, then you can compare. If you want to compare your performance from match to match, look at your performance. What was your Gross ( points shots ignoring penalties ) and Net ( points shot including penalties )? Did you percentages go up? Go down? ( this data is under your name in match performance on USPSA for that individual match ) You can go further and look at the your A's, C's, D's, M's. What is your % of A of total shots. Did it go up or down? I think you get the point.
  10. I have one of these: http://www.lowes.com/pd_349204-70-C2002_0__?productId=4764588&Ntt=pancake+compressor&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNtt%3Dpancake%2Bcompressor&facetInfo= works great, but it will wake up the dead when it's filling the tank!
  11. sold the gun and the grips, so the only picture i can find right now is this:
  12. OP is asking about tape....go to Lowes. Look for Shurtape, i think its near the paint aisle. One roll will last a lifetime: http://www.lowes.com/pd_256841-56131-124660_0__ i used it and loved it. Until i found out about silicon carbide. Spread some JB Weld on the grips, then pour the silicon carbide over the JB weld. set aside to dry. if you buy the 45-60 grit, it will be rough as hell for a few months then wear in nicely. i would redo the grips once a year. silicon carbide: http://www.therockshed.com/grit1.html
  13. It's actually a very complicated formula. They take a lot of things into consideration and then run the data through this complex device to give them the answer.

    Mag Cleaning

If i didn't wipe my CZ mags with a silicon rag they would have rust on them the next time i went to use them. That is the CZ OEM Mags. The Mec Gars never got any rust on them ever.
  15. I ordered that magwell from henning. I think I got it around the 15th or so of March. I ordered the flat trigger kit at the same time and just received it on Friday (27th)..... Is the magwell out of stock now? (I must of got lucky!) Which Flat Trigger kit did you order? Ordered the medium kit Feb 2, still waiting. Maybe i'll get mine tomorrow.
  16. I think results vary. I have had no issues with reloading 20 with K40 mags and Grams Followers. You can't baby the magazine in, but I definitely don't have to slam it home. I shoot with two other guys that shoot the Limited with the K40/Grams, and neither of them have any issues reloading with 20. I was able to load at the start 21+1 just once. I have not been able to do that since. 21 will not reload for me at all. 20, no problems.
  17. One of the only issues I've ever had with mine was showing up to the range with a dead battery inside. Plus, the little space in the battery compartment that is convenient to store an extra battery was empty. The only other issue i have had was getting some 3500 fps readings while shooting 9mm a few years back. I thought that was strange, didn't think i loaded them that hot. Turns out one sensor was in the sun, the other was in a shadow. Once i got them both in the shade, no problems, back to normal fps. ( fwiw, both in the sun works too. just need to make sure they are both in the same condition )
  18. Same here. Its weird when you realize you find yourself rooting for the Russian spies to succeed in their mission!
  19. What rule supports this if the activator is not mentioned in the WSB? Does 9.9.3 say anything about being mentioned in the WSB? 9.9.3 = Moving scoring targets will always incur failure to shoot at and miss penalties if a competitor fails to activate the mechanism which initiates the target movement. This includes no-shoot targets that must be activated when in front of scoring targets to expose them, penalties are based on number of shots required for the scoring target(s) behind the no-shoot. Doesn't specify when you need to activate it. Just that you activate the mechanism. "will always" seems pretty clear to me. No requirement that it needs to be in the WSB. WSB's don't usually say you can't break the 180, yet you know on every stage that is the rule. If i'm reading this rule incorrectly, please let me know. But It seems pretty clear to me though.
  20. My brain hurt after reading this one, mostly because i would have given the procedural too, and it looks like i would have been wrong. So to summarize, to make sure i have this correct: if a scoring target moves by the activation of a prop, you need to activate at some point or get a procedural for not activating. ( before or after, doesn't matter, as long as it's before "If clear hammer down and holster" ) If a no shoot covers the entire scoring target, you have to activate it at some point otherwise get a penalty. ( FTE and two mikes, even if the target is disappearing ) If the No shoot is positioned in a way that allows you to shoot and score on the scoring target BEFORE activating, you don’t need to activate the no shoot. Am i right?
  21. What if he had completed the COF but wanted to slide back over to make sure his hits were there? If the target is not visible like it is supposed to be, that's REF. Exactly. The target was not visible to shoot at. it was not the same COF as the previous shooter, therefore its an REF. Mandatory reshoot. If the target is laying on the ground ( face up/face down doesn't matter ), it's an REF. As a shooter the COF is mine from Start signal to IFUSC, how i shoot at the targets is my business, when i shoot at them, how many times i shoot at them ( even in Virginia count! ), so saying there were two holes and the shooter engaged it already is bogus. I would have asked them for the rule that states i'm only allowed to shoot at it twice ( again, even in Virginia count you can shoot at it all day long, you're just going to get a lot of penalties for it!! ).
  22. For 320, when the outside temps get down in the 40's and lower, you'll lose 10-30 fps. Not a big deal if you have a comfortable margin built in to your PF, but if you're blade running, you will get hosed at a chrono eventually. for general every day use, not much of difference to make a big deal. eta: this is based on first hand experience two winters in a row
  23. Is the trigger resetting? Is the trigger bar lifter spring pushing up on the trigger bar and causing the the trigger to reset? That's the only thing i can think of.
  24. I thought i was the only one that saw that!
  25. DAA belts are in fact wider. They do it on purpose so that the holster and mag pouches stay put. If you go to the DAA website, it says it on there. I love that it is wider for this reason. Once you get the gear on, it's not moving. Like zzw, my gear has the screws on the hangers too so you don't need to slide them, you just put them where you want and screw down the back plate. http://www.doublealpha.biz/ipsc-holsters-rigs/belts/double-alpha-competition-belt
