  1. One last update because thankfully this hate topic ended well. Cable guy just left. Fixed the wire, buried it back underground, came in the house replaced the Ancient Cable modem I have for a brand new one, all for free! Prior to this, i was getting download speeds of appoximately 10Mbps prior, now i'm getting upwards of 70MB with the hard line, 30MB wireless. Slipped the guy a Twenty for this hard work ( its raining and cold here today, so not fun doing all of that work outside ). Kind of hard staying mad at the dog when i just improved my internet by A LOT!
  2. I'm not old, nor do i have scars. OK, i guess i'm not young, but i'm not near Senior status. Anyway, point is, i just don't like carrying my stuff. That's why i got a cart. My gun stuff actually takes up the least amount of room in the cart. I like to have to bring a cooler, with ice, to keep hydrated. Got to be a pain carrying any other way. Plus, now my shooting buddy puts his range bag in the cart and we take turns pulling it. So that's even better. Plus, i can just throw my ammo boxes and mag brush in the cart when i'm done reloading mags. No need to open a bag/range box and make sure it's closed, etc, that stuff just stays out there ready to use. Very handy. Yeah, i get it, they aren't for everyone, and I used to laugh at people in the past that had them. Now, I won't go back. Too easy to just drag something to the next bay instead of hefting the bag onto the shoulder.
  3. But he doesn't know the difference between hear and here. LOL....typo. Sorry.
  4. Add this to the Hate part of this thread. My work phone has mobile hotspot activated. Personal PC, Ipad, Girlfriends computer all work great on it. My work laptop? Not so much. haven't been able to connect all morning. But hey, i'm on Enos right?! I may not get work done, but at least i can post about it! Cable guy hear now fixing the line. We'll see if i get charged. He didn't say anything, but that doesn't mean he won't throw a bill in my face at the end. Stay tuned...and connected!
  5. Hating on myself for not investigating why the dog wasn't back on the porch a few minutes after letting her out like she normally is.
  6. Lost my internet service today around lunch time while working from home. Finally called cable company and they diagnosed it as the cable modem, sending someone out tomorrow from 8 to 10 am. So what's worse than that? Realizing later in the evening that the internet went out around the same time you caught your lab digging under the fence in the back yard. Yep....you got it.....friggin dog dug up the buried cable AND managed to chew a 6 inch section out of the wire. At least the technician doesn't have to spend time diagnosing the problem when he gets here tomorrow. Wonder what that is going to cost me to fix...... Oh yeah...anyone want a yellow lab Pit mix?
  7. You mean like this: http://czcustom.com/CZ-75-85-TS-Grips-Aluminum-Plastic-Rubber.aspx
  8. Looks like Hear-Pro is a sponsor of the Double Tap Match in June, right there in Wichita Falls. You might want to see if they are going to be at the match.
  9. Proof that you can't hide money. You shootin' any of these Safe Queens tomorrow at the 'Burg?
  10. Chuck, check out the CZForumsite. Lots of good info over there. EERW is a frequent poster over there as well. http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=42537.0
  11. Plus I think US Airways is trying to kick Southwest's ass. Southwest came to GSP with their low low fares...that lasted a couple of months, now they are as high or higher than anyone else. What a sham. "You are now free to move about the country.....as long as you pay higher fares than everyone else".
  12. Trying to book a flight from Greenville, SC to Newark, NJ in April. Greenville to Charlotte to Newark = $295 Charlotte to Newark direct ( keep in mind it's the same exact flights as the one above, just without the Greenville leg ) = $921. Even though its a 90 minute drive from home, it's far easier to drive to Charlotte to fly direct and not worry about delayed flights on connections. But noooooooo...the airline doesn't want me to do that.
  13. Wipe them down with a silicon rag after you use them and before you put them away. No rust. Don't it, yes, they will get rust. I bought one of those cheap Silicon rags and then got a Spray can of Silicon at the auto parts store. Just spray down the rag every couple of weeks to keep it fresh. Keep it in a ziploc bag.
  14. Day two stuck in Chicago trying to get home to the Carolinas. Looking for a place to go to dinner around the O'Hare airport. have no desire to go in to downtown Chicago. ( fyi went to Sweet Baby Rays last night...pretty good ) Any suggestions on a "you definitely have to go to this place" while you're there. Just no seafood. I have a car willing to drive, but not too far. Almost went postal last night when I got stuck in traffic on one highway ( they all look the same )
  15. Started using this one a few months ago. I love it. Works on all surfaces so far. http://www.amazon.com/Mac-Sports-WTC-Foldable-Beachcomber/dp/B008DJDUPM
  16. OP, i have the same setup from Jim on my S2. I've been running Winchesters and after about 1000 rounds, i've had ZERO issues.
  17. I learned about the "M16 bullet tumbling phenomenon" while i was in college in 1989 in a Military Science class, taught by a professor in a uniform. I recall he was Army, but I don't recall his rank or whether he was retired, reservist, etc. But the message was clear....the M16 shoots a bullet that tumbles. As i remember the explanation, if you shoot an enemy and he dies, his fellow soldiers keep fighting because they can't help him. The M16 was designed to tumble so that it hits the enemy and tears into them causing damage but not killing them, that way the other soldiers have to carry him off the field of battle, taking more than one guy out of the action. Laugh all you want...i was a kid from NY that was never around guns my whole life, back then you could have told me anything and I would have believed you.
  18. +1. The "thick" grips are .11" thicker than the Thin grips. Calling them thick is a misnomer. They should refer to them as the "Not as Thin" grips. I took a pair of plastic grips, the ones that have the same size/shape/contour as the factory rubber ones. I spread JB Weld on them, poured Silicon Carbide them, let it dry. Result is in the picture. These are the fattest, best textured grips i have seen ( yes my arm hurts when i pat myself on the back like that! ). Anyway, the whole deal cost about $30. The grips are $23, i found a guy on http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php selling them for $15. The Silicon Carbide can be found at http://www.therockshed.com/grit.html for $6.50. And JB Weld at Home Depot. Send me a PM if you want to know more.
  19. i use a dental pick. You can get a pack for $5-10 at Wally world. Or you can sweet talk your dental hygienist into giving you a professional set due to be thrown out. Just make sure she runs them through the autoclave one last time.
  20. I believe most of the issues here are that the current WSB's have the stage setup differnently than they were set up at Nationals. See below, this is 13-02 run at our local two weeks ago. Big difference. The stage on the left was setup per the WSB. The distances are correct. Here is another one. this is last weekend 13-05. See a difference? If they are basing current scores off of the high marks at Nats for these stages, there will be a lot of over-ranked people out there. I got bumped to A because of these "13" classifiers, and now I'm probably going to be bumped to Master. I'm hoping something changes with the update this month and the scores are adjusted down, but i'm not counting on it.
  21. LOL, 40 degrees?? We would have loved 40 degrees the other day. It didn't get over 35 degrees the whole day we were out there shooting.
  22. i walked it off....it was 33 yards! IMO this is nonsense. While it has been a few years since I shot the Open, a simple reminder to ALL shooters on your squad that they WILL help reset solves the problem. Once they get the gentle reminder, if they aren't pulling their weight, call them out. When it comes to resetting stages, no one can screw you unless you let them. Sorry, but you can gently remind them all you want. Some of them come to the Open with no plans to paste. Some will even walk over to the next stage after they're done shooting to scope out the next stage. I've even witnessed a shooter help paste the NEXT stage after they were done shooting the one they were on so that they could get an advanced look. Not sure how the RO's on that stage didn't realize, but the FL Open takes all your mental energy worry about stuff like that will just kill you. At some point you just say F it and worry about your own game. They get reminded. Help on the stage they get called out on and go back to their regular scheduled programming on the next stage.I've been to the FL open the past few years and its always the same. I'm done. This... +1 With all of that said, I’ve shot the Florida Open three years in a row. Already signed up for this year’s match. IMO, if you can afford it, it’s a must attend match. The quality of competition is top notch. As far as prizes, it's the only match i've seen where EVERY Division AND Class Winner receive a gun. Including Unclassified. Some may scoff at that, but you have to remember, unlike most matches, as someone has already mentioned, the U's at Florida Open are generally IPSC GM's that are not USPSA classified. One of the hardest things about the Open, other than the tough stages, is the mental game. You are NEVER out of contention to win your class ( at least A through D ). You win this match by minimizing mistakes. You're going to have Mikes, if you can be the guy that has the fewest, you will be in good shape. Nationals quality stages, shooting in shorts in February. Do you really need another reason to attend this match?
  23. Carnifex has it right. I will just add to it because it might be a little confusing since you have not done this before. See below.

I can't speak to IPSC rules, but in USPSA the +10% springs are definitely legal.
