  1. Based on some of your scores, I'd say you havent found looking at the front of the targets useful either! :-) hey-ohhh!!
  2. I've had a stock sight break the cross pin, i've had a stock sight break the detent under the elevation screw ( that little BB, it disintegrated like it was made out of rock candy ) and i had a Dawson break a cross pin.
  3. ^ this plus Cat Crap. either the paste or the spray. If you don't know what is, go to a Ski shop, it will mostly likely be on the counter.

Hopefully it was the IDPA matches that told you that, because if it was the USPSA match, tell them to start playing by the USPSA rules or give up their affiliation.
  5. the zebra swaying is bad, should have been supported a little better. REF? not sure. the popper. you said it was forward falling right? you took three shots at both those poppers, is it possible you hit the big one twice? first shot started the popper moving, second shot stopped it from falling? my buddy did exactly that this year at FL Open. Shot the forward faller right in the calibration zone, it wasn't moving fast enough so he popped it again, the second shot prevented it from going down. Calibration put it down no problem.

    Cyclists

A few months ago i followed one of these "Kings of the Road" into my neighborhood. I watched him come to the first T intersection which has a Stop sign for our way, but the other two ways don't, and blow right through it at speed and make a left. The cars in my neighborhood tend to speed, which i also hate, and this guy could have easily become road pizza right in front of my eyes. I swore if that happened, this was probably going to be my reaction: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7vyWE5gqS_s
  7. Wow...just wow. Good for the seller, but those buyers need to do their homework. Unless you can't buy online and ship to where they are? is that possible? I have not seen a 9mm Stock 2 sell for over $1200 in several months. I've seen them online several times, and i'm not even in the market. i just looked for sh*ts and giggles. I sold mine in Feb 2015 for $2100: Had a trigger job, EGD Parts, 12 magazines with Shock bottle basepads on all of them. I originally listed it for $2500, but had to drop the price to 2100 to sell it. That was back when they were still hard to find.
  8. Was it a 40 cal? If yes, it was a decent price. If it was 9mm, then it was a good price. Either way, nothing earth shattering anymore. Stock 2 is not quite the unicorn it was. There are plenty on Gunbroker and other places ( Buds, Hinterland Outfitters ). I just did a search and Hinterland has 9mm Stock 2 for $899.33 in stock right now. ( buds has it for $903 in stock ) $1800 for a BNIB stock 2? Wow. Unless there were a lot of extras ( EGD or Henning Parts, mags, basepads ) that is an awful deal. Someone got robbed.
  9. Awesome place and great steaks. After Ricks, the best steak i ever had was Flemings in Tampa.
  10. The two best drills that helped my shot calling are: Leave your ego at home on this one. Be honest with yourself. Start slow, then speed up. If you can't make the par time, don't make the time longer, move closer. Start at 5 yards. I've been doing this drill for a few years, and i've never shot it clean at 7 yards. I usually start every practice session with this drill. i have 12 dots on the cardboard target, run it 12 times, then move on to other stuff. There is a thread about how to get the dots, what stickers to use, what printout to use....seems all overkill to me. I took a blank target, cut 12 2" holes in it in symmetric rows/columns. That is now my template. I just hold that over another target and use black spray paint to make the dots on a new target. The template stays in the garage and i never have to worry about cutting out more dots, or printing more off. Takes me 10 seconds to spray paint a new target. http://benstoeger.com/index.php/gallery/23-second-category/90-the-dots This one will burn a LOT of ammo. I think my best on this one was 7 or 8. Never got to 10. I have a piece of steel that is the exact size of an A zone. Got it at a Steel manufacturer in town for like $10. Anyway, i put that on a full target and that way when i shoot at it, i know if i hit the A zone or not. anything that doesn't go "ding" doesn't count. you can do the same thing with just the cardboard target, but it would be a PITA to paste in between each round. I think i had the target at about 8 yards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLRxohRdIys
  11. Sounds like a Tanfo Conference is scheduled for the Safe Area at Sparta this weekend. I'll bring mine and show you where I filed the relief area in the back of the magwell. If i can find the round file i used, i'll bring it with me.
  12. I've been using Primo chalk : http://www.roguefitness.com/primo-chalk-balls?prod_id=3165&gclid=CjwKEAjw9Zu5BRCS_OuVibujhQ0SJAD7t4KrciKVz0bviaf2IAE9WWojEXKB9YThV6ZpME9FiOJpgRoC_vrw_wcB The gym i go to was using this, so that's how i found out about it. It's weight lifters chalk, but instead of the big block you get at Academy, it comes in a pouch, and it has some tackiness to it as well. It's not just powder. Problem with it is, since the bags are supposed to be used like a rosin bag, it tends to get all over. The gym recently switched over to Bison Chalk. It's basically the same thing, without the extra chalk flying around. The chalk stays in the ball, yet still allows you to get it on your hands. I'm ordering some today, will report back after i've used it on the range. http://www.amazon.com/Bison-Designs-oz-Standard-Chalkball/dp/B008TYH64C/ref=pd_sim_468_6?ie=UTF8&dpID=41-Ne0G0SrL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=12B02ZFR89DDFWQS929D
  13. Same theory applies to unloaded starts. Make sure you properly seat the mag. On the bright side the gun racks really smoothly when it doesn't have to strip the first round off the mag and feed it into the chamber! :-) go to the 5:12 mark if you want to see what i am talking about. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bfbc7EojOK0
  14. Take a target, draw four rows of three dots. Cut them out. you now have a template. hold that template over another target, use black spray paint. easy peasy.
  15. Chalk me up to another one that tried to DIY a setup using two smaller magnets from ACE hardware. Put them on a bracket, screwed them to a mag pouch attachment....no bueno. Even with the two magnets, the magazine wouldn't stay put. I bought the DAA Magnet, screwed it on to an old Racer Mag pouch attachment, works great.
  16. i heard someone say this at the range recently...i didn't know him, so i just let it go, but in my head all i could think is "moron". He was also offering advice on reloading....i just laughed and walked away. I would no sooner take advice from a reloader that calls them "bullet heads" than i would a mechanic that calls tires "donut shaped things".
  17. I almost feel guilty for bumping it over the edge into the abyss! As penance for your crime, you must read ALL of the CO and PCC threads, in their entirety, 3 times each. I believe punishment like that would fall into the cruel and unusual category and quite frankly might be illegal in most states.....Wait....it was punishment for Gomer?? Never mind....Carry on!
  18. Very true, but now i am very interested in this topic. i always assumed that Production needed to be hammer down if you holstered in the middle of a COF. I now see what others are saying that 8.1 merely states a ready position, not THE start position. So i'm curious what NROI has to say about this. I can see both sides of this argument.
  19. Betty runs a great stage. She knows her stuff and her stage is always one of the best run. First class RO! No idea what the stick is for.
  20. When you do your testing at the range do you put down your beer and say "Hey y'all...watch this sh&t!"
  21. Same here. I run Racer Mag pouches with my Tanfo 40 mags. No problems at all.
  22. Tanfo Limited 40 cal mags, you need to load shorter than 1.145. At 1.145 or longer, after you load 15 bullets in the mag, they will start to bind, and cause the mag to become a maraca. Stick to 1.135-1.140. I've been loading 180gn BBI's in mine for a while and have had no issues with that length.
