Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. If the Dillon device was cheaper, it would have been a no-brainer. It is just way too expensive for what it does. I can see it for the commercial reloaders that use Dillon equipment. cap
  2. ??? A month later in your own thread, goes from love to indifference already? I guess it's just really getting used to it. Kind of like the girls in college....
  3. I've had one of these tools for sometime and have used it successfully. Would I buy it again? Maybe, maybe not. cap
  4. I've had a chance to use the Vibra Prime a lot and I've also loaned it to friends. It simply works and works well....after you get a little patience and figure out it's "quirks" like anything else. Great value for the $$. I just think the Dillon primer feeder, while it works very well, is dramatically over priced. cap
  5. Whoops. should have put this in the non-dillon forum.
  6. I just purchased one of those "Vibra-Prime" tube fillers. At $45 it was a LOT cheaper than the Dillon solution. When I got it, I was prepared to not have it work very well. It just plain looked tacky. But...it works GREAT! Took a little getting used to, but now I can load a tube in 15 seconds or less. Really neat. Cap
  7. I've been using Dillon equipment (550B w/casefeeder) for some time and am very happy with it. Just got done loading a bunch of .223 (wish the case feeder worked with this caliber)and switched over to do some .45. Now the large pistol primer slide is sticking. The small pistol primer slide worked fine. It sticks just on the last little bit. If I give it a tiny tug, all is fine. But that is not an option. Should this slide be lightly oiled or dry? Would using powdered mica or graphite (I've got both) be a better lube? How do you adjust it before you tighten down those two screws underneath it? There is a little bit of movement before I tighten the screws. Haven't called Dillon yet, thought I would try here first. Direct email is best... Bruce kb1iix@arrl.net
  8. Pat, you're not comparing apples to apples. I always use lube for rifle cases and never use lube for pistol (straight wall) cases. Doesn't matter if the die is carbide or not. But...all of my pistol dies are carbide, none of my rifle dies are carbide. Been reloading for about 50 years... cap
  9. I just thought that maybe people wouldn't want to share this information with Dillon, who monitors this site. Putting a power unit on a Dillon press voids their no BS warranty. cap
  10. Sorry if this has been brought up before...I don't get to this forum often. My shoulders are reaching a point where it is starting to get painful pulling the handle on a 550B. Has anyone added a power option to a Dillon press? Details? Pictures? I read somewhere that doing something like this voids the warranty, but I still need to think about it. Private email is best. Thanks Cap KB1IIX@ARRL.net
  11. What is the best/easiest way to empty the primer tube? Powder? Thanks... Bruce
