  1. Nope, makes you normal, like the rest of us!
  2. Damn, I never noticed that! All this time I've been changing the shellplate when changing between 9mm and 40 S&W! Now I feel like a dumbass!
  3. Actually, trigger bounce is a thing! The older Colt Gold Cups had that wide trigger in them and the shoe was steel.Trigger bounce was a problem in those guns and Colt put a little spring loaded lever on the bottom right side of the sear to absorb the trigger momentum. They were damn near impossible to put back together without a slave pin to hold that lever in place! Usually what happens with these light trigger pulls is when the slide slams forward the trigger moves back enough to move the sear nose out of the hammer hooks. That's why when you hold the trigger back and slam the slide it doesn't happen.
  4. And this post right here gets the annual award for the most prolific use of acronyms!
  5. My question is, can you actually tell the difference between a 130 PF round and a 135 PF round when shooting a stage? I personally don't believe a 5 point difference in PF will have any effect on accuracy/consistency in our game. I think you're splitting hairs!
  6. I've smacked mine on the concrete garage floor and also on the flat surface of my bench vise many times. I've never managed to break one or even crack it! And yeah, I've tried! I don't know what kind of plastic they are made of, but it's tough as hell.
  7. The inertia puller will disassemble it. Just smack it on concrete like it owes you money! You might have to hit it more than once, but it will work. I definitely don't recommend drilling a hole!
  8. I don't see it that way! They don't have any issue with having us vote about optics on single stacks and revolvers, but not polling the membership about major decisions about the office of the president isn't just as important? I just don't accept that.
  9. I think the issue here is that the BOD is making decisions with no input from the members at all. Things of this nature should probably at the least be discussed withe the members if not put up for a vote! It's pretty much a Dewey Stokes move! He was president of the Fraternal Order of Police back in 1986 and went on national television and said the FOP was supporting the Gun Control Act of 1986. He also said he had not asked the membership and said he didn't need to, they elected him to make these types of decisions. The majority of the members were totally against that bill and it didn't go well for Dewey Stokes!
  10. Island barrel with ports is loud! I built an Open gun several years ago with a hybri-comp barrel (same thing). It shot flat as hell but was extremely loud. After two years I traded the gun off and went back to shooting Limited.
  11. More mental prep than superstition, but I used to listen to Pink Floyd's Division Bell CD while driving to a match. Here in New Mexico it is an hour's drive or more to any match for me and that album had a calming effect on me. Can't do that anymore, the only vehicle I own that plays CDs is my 70 Cuda and I'm certainly not driving that to any matches.
  12. Great run! Sometimes it seems like everything just falls into place and the gun just runs itself. It's an amazing thing to experience!
