  1. Only need the 9mm sizing die insert (or whatever they call 'em), you can adjust the seater & crimper for your 9mm.
  2. Well, judging by your reloads, you won't be shooting at West Texas Granny's range!!
  3. Good points aztec! How about the pix on the cover on the latest issue of Front Sight, anybody get apoplectic over that one? Might be a tall berm that muzzle is pointing at but I'm guessin' he'd be DQ'd at WTG's club!
  4. I sold one about a year ago with a little bit more than what you've got at 75% of retail PLUS shipping. Shipping runs about $65-$70 if I recall correctly.
  5. Thanks Jake, I greatly appreciate all your input! Thinkin' I'm gonna chicken out and go LDC/lightened slide though.
  6. Thank you very much Jake! Man, you guys must like cast bullets there eh? What weight bullets do you shoot? S&S Cast perhaps? Watching you shoot both your LDC & SDC it certainly didn't look like it slowed you down much, if at all, using the SDC! Looked like maybe a wee bit more flip, but certainly not much! Were your points about the same as when you shoot the LDC? Thanks again, great vids! Rich
  7. Eric -- I currently shoot a Brazos SC 6 inch, bushing barrel. Difference in sight radius doesn't seem to matter much to these 61 year old eyes since I wear reading classes when shooting and can see either length sight radius clear & sharp whilst the target has just a hint of a blur. I can still delineate the scoring perfs out to about 18-20 yards, after that it's a bit more of a challenge! Thanks!
  8. That's what I wanted to hear Jake - thanks! I do have a Tungsten guide rod on hand as well as several steel mainspring housings, so no problems there. I don't think I'd opt for a heavy magwell though, so thanks for "testing" it out for me! Would you happen to have any match videos of you shooting both the LDC & the SDC? Sure would appreciate seein' 'em if you do! Thanks!
  9. Thanks for the info guys! So Jake, you said with the same loads the guns shot close to the same. I'm assuming this was after you got used to it a bit? Have you shot any matches with your backup pistol? If so, did your opinion of it change? My favorite Open pistol was a Dawson Mini-Stroker cuz it smacked my "dead" hands a fair amount, unlike the two softest ones I've ever owned, a Briley and an EGW. So I don't think I'd mind the "smack" of the SDC in my hands, in fact, it may force me to use a stronger grip with these arthritis stricken hands! Kyle - I have actually been shooting my G20 a little bit, with 220's in 10mm cases, and that's what got me to thinking about a SDC Limited pistol. My six incher feels pretty heavy and ungainly right now, just wanted to get opinions of those who've been there. If I do get a SDC I will act upon your suggestion. Thanks again guys!
  10. Matt, thanks for the info. How far out on build times are you? C'mon Kyle, I'm tryin' to forget about that G20! It's relegated to pretty much just packin' duties now! Thanks!
  11. I've been shooting a 6" Brazos SC and am going to sell it & go back to a 5 inch gun. My question for those of you who have done so: would you build on a long frame or a standard length frame? I'm leaning toward standard length but have never shot one; can anyone give me pros & cons? Thanks! Rich
  12. Well poop Stu! Sorry to hear about your temporary job loss, but it'll give you more time to work on those CZ's! Never know, it might turn into something big!
  13. I had a Ti comp crack at a state match; simply cut the offending part off with a hacksaw; worked just fine, looked a little rough!
  14. Northwest Wyomings' newest club was formed tonight at Cody, Wyoming! If any of you are planning a trip to Yellowstone Park make certain you schedule time to shoot with us! 1st Sunday of the month, March through October. Rich Redovian Cody, WY
  15. Hey, I remember that pistol!! Must've been before the splatter painted grips! RR
  16. Wonder what percent of the 5500 that voted are, at minimum, RO's? I'm with Jim, don't really want those without a clue, or without participating in matches, to have a voice about our officers.
  17. The workers, say all four or five of you, shoot first & then go sit,. If the other fifteen want to shoot then some off them will get the message.
  18. Hey Cha-Lee here's how we handled the lazy non-workers: when they are the on-deck shooter we simply had all the folk that do work score the prior shooter and nobody tapes, sets steel, or RO's. All the workers go sit in the shade, load mags, etc. Once the see that the stage isn't reset & they can't shoot until it is, they'll get the message eventually! Always enjoy your posts!
  19. Try Alliant E3 -- 3.5-3.7 grs did it in my 24.
  20. Can anyone tell me what year STI started using MIM parts -- if in fact they do -- in their Open pistols? I bought an Edge a few years ago and the thumb safeties lasted only a couple of weeks before snapping into pieces. What parts would typically be MIM? Thanks! Rich
