I was practicing reloads with the Glock yesterday. When I focussed on being relaxed, my attention level would go down. Somehow I confused relaxation with unattentiveness, thinking that "physically being relaxed", would make everything go as it should. The result was sloppyness. I turned up my attention level (which I found a hard thing to do) and forgot about any technique. The result was perfect reloads. Attention/Focus is a result of true interest in what you are doing. It is difficult to "be interested" all the time. Guess I'm just rambling. I'll come back and edit this post when I found the right words, but figured I might as well post it to see if others have some nice words on this (usually others can put this stuff into words much better than I)

I dread the minutes I have to spend with Internet Explorer for certain sites that don't support Firefox. Firefox is da sizzle fo' rizzle.

Yeah, that is what I thought of at first. Probably a frame rail. It's not the blocking block or the lug on the barrel. I'll put a 1/2 tub of SG on it when I come home tonight. Thanks @300lbsG

I can't really say I'm a fan. Maybe I made the mistake of watching 4 seasons of The Shield in 2 weeks and then looking for a substitute when I ran out of episodes. Thank God the Shield is back on TV I borrowed the 24 DVD's from my landlord. He's a big fan of the show. He also felt bed because he was very certain I would become an addict like him. I tried the first season but it just couldn't grab me. Maybe I'll try it again sometime. If so many people like it, it can't be that bad can it?

Last Friday (yes, Friday the 13th), I dropped my Glock in the safety area of my range. First time I dropped a gun and it was on a concrete floor to boot (dropped it from about 3ft). It landed on the front and rear sight (of course), leaving a nice dent in both. It also hit the side of the muzzle. No dramatic damage was done, but it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The weird thing is that I can’t shake the feeling that my gun recoils differently ever since I dropped it. I took the whole thing apart and checked the parts for any damage, but couldn’t find a thing. But if I pull the slide back a little, the part where the barrel starts to unlock seems to be heavier. Also, my powder puff 147grain 9mm loads seem to recoil more than they used to. Is there any way this could be true, or am I just seeing things that aren’t there? I not planning on dropping it again, but I figured Glocks should be able to take a little beating. When torture tested it was dropped from 150ft. out of a helicopter, so it should be able to survive 3ft. without any serious damage, right? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would find the differences between the G17 and the G34 too small to justify buying it, but that is just what I think. What do you want to do with the new gun? New game? IDPA in a different division?

I used a small round file and did it myself. Just take it easy and don't chamfer too much. A little chamfer that has .001" more diameter than the case mouth is sufficient. If you chamfer too much, you can get the cases to "skip a chamber" when you reload fast (case 1 will be in chamber 1 and case 3 will be in chamber 3).

Raul, the 140mm mag extensions do not fit the box Arredondo makes special IPSC-box legal extentions, which hold 2 rounds less than the USPSA 140mm pads. They make them only for the small (17/22) frame.

I still haven't found a gun that points as nicely as my P7M13. Too bad they're not on the international IPSC list anymore.

Vluc, that is exactly te kind of stuff I was talking about. As long as you do what makes you feel good, the shooting will be good.

My burnout came when I started doing things other people wanted me to do. It also had something to do with being afraid to let go of things that have given you success in the past (say you're a good Lim shooter and you're afraid to switch to Open because you will have to "start from scratch"). The funny thing is that there is no thing more detrimental to shooting performance than burn out... If you do EXACTLY what you want, there's no burn out. This includes taking breaks, switching divisions, shooting different shooting games etc. My 2 cents.

Very true. Look at Ricardo Lopez. This guy has an amazing draw, great reloads, and RUNS like he stole something. He shoots a revolver with a 12lbs. trigger and his splits never run lower than .23s. And he gets about 97% of Jerry. Splits don't mean anything

What makes the #2 way not feel secure? I guess my draw is somewhere in between a snatch and a scoop. I lift the gun out of the holster with my three gripping fingers, but the gun doesn't clear the holster before my thumb is at least at the back of the slide to prevent the gun from canting forward.

I have one. Good scale. I have nothing to compare it to, this is the first digiscale I own. But it has not given me any trouble yet and I have it for about two years now.

Thought I'd bump this one to see if any new stuff has come out for the Large Frame Mags. Any (new) IPSC box-legal magazine extentions out there yet?
