  1. I used the Zendl on my Shadows and the S2 rear on my S2. When ordering the Zendl, make sure you order the one with the deeper notch if you want the same kind of notch as the S2. I like the profile of the S2 more. The square Zendl blocks too much of the target and for some reason the diagonal lines of the S2 sight make recognizing the sight picture easier/faster. The windage adjustability of the Zendl is a big plus though. Fixing windage with a punch or a pusher is a pain.

    Cz mag lip tuning?

This. I use an anvil/kettlebell/something heavy to place the magazine on and use mallet or reloading hammer to tap the feedlips into "spec", as mentioned above.
  3. This is the solution. The bevel shown is exaggerated. Go slow and check often.
  4. FWIW, Antonin Zendl from the Czech Republic sells the blades as a separate item. I ordered two of the slightly higher blades with the deeper notch and they were an easy install. So you don't need to buy an entirely new unit. Keep in mind that the height increases slightly. For IPSC it's fine, because there's no box rule. But for USPSA, I don't know if this is an issue.

    New CZC Gun

Yes, it can distract. And when shot enough, plastic grips can break in the area closest to the hammer. I had that happen twice. Two screws eliminates this completely. Glad to see CZC fixed it.

    New CZC Gun

Loctite or washers are a good way to prevent the screws backing out. But the one screw design makes it hard to design grips that don't develop some amount of play and start to pivot around the one screw.

    New CZC Gun

I love that the grips attach with two screws AND fall into a cutout in the frame. The one screw grip on the CZ/Tanfo guns are quite a design flaw, IMO.

    Yes, they do break

This company sells hardened pins (without the slidestop feature, so no hold open). They cost about $6 and will ship in an envelope. http://www.zendl.cz/ I bought 4 and have used the first one for training since 40K rounds back. Never broke the first one. On match day the original slide stop goes in and I track the round count in a Excel. I replace the match stop after 3000 or so rounds.

    Similarity.....?

I have always had backup guns, and never needed one. I prefer to change parts to switching guns, but for some parts that is impossible. If your frame, slide, sights or barrel break, you're screwed if you don't have a backup gun. Some people would rather switch guns than change certain parts (TRS, extractor, mag catch spring), so I guess it depends on how comfortable you are in taking the gun apart and putting it back together at a match. The big advantage for me in having identical guns, is that all the parts you buy can be used in both guns and you can even cannibalize one gun for the sake of the other. For this reason alone I would go with identical guns if you are serious about competing at a high level. The $300 of additional cost of a second S2 over a Stock III or Shadow will make your life a lot easier. PS, a backup gun is no guarantee to keep you from tanking a match due to equipment failure. If your TRS breaks halfway through a long course, you will not win the match. So keeping your main gun in excellent condition is the most important. For this reason, I use my backup gun in dryfire and training, and only use my match gun for matches and a few training sessions before an important match.
  10. Lior, would you rate the friction of the LOK grips higher than the aluminum oxide?

    Henning Grips

Anodizing in blue is a pain. It is practically impossible to get the same shades in different batches.
  12. Thanks for the picture. That is interesting. I would never say the depth of that notch is 2/3 of the width.
  13. Ditto, I like it a lot, but .080" is very shallow. I was already looking for an alternative for my factory CZ adjustable, which is .100" deep (and already shallow IMO). I'd take a 7mm+ front sight any day to get a deeper notch.
  14. Matteekay, same deal here. I shot revolvers for years and switched to Glock and later Shadow. I have consistently shot about 2" to the left @20yds with any platform. I figured that shooting 1-2" groups @20yds was good and couldn't find any way to make myself shoot in the middle by changing technique. So I ended up moving the sights.
  15. Zendl just updated their adjustable with a deeper notch sight. Can be ordered as a separate sight blade to retrofit on the existing sight base. Will order to check out. Notch is .5mm (.02") deeper. http://www.evoarms.com/en/18-miridla
  16. How does the grip size of the VP9 compare to the CZ?

    P320 X5 Thread

What is the grip size like? How does it compare to the currently available grip modules? Is it like a medium, or more like a Large? Just curious as I like the p320's offering of a Large grip module. Finally a gun I can use in Production that will fit my hands properly. Also, is it possible to upgrade the normal P320 serial parts (the FFL chassis) to the X-Five, or are the critical parts all proprietary?
  18. The new DAA PDR PRO-II for STI/SV has a kydex body that is long enough for 5.5" guns.
  19. Take a tape measure and measure your actual waist circumference. Order the size you measure. If you are in between sizes, size up. So if you measure 35, get a 36 belt. Sizing one size up is not a problem at all. Just do not use your pants size as a reference.
  20. The holster in the video is a PDR Pro, not a PDR Pro-II The Pro-II has a completely different rail and holster body. Only the belt attachment is the same as the first PDR Pro
  21. I just emailed Zendl and they confirmed that the notch is still only 2.5mm deep. Too bad. If they would make it with a slightly deeper notch (can be done with a higher sight blade), they would have a seller.
  22. Hi Tommy, Thanks for the reply. The Zendls are basically improved CZ sights right? Still have the notch only 2.5mm deep?
  23. I will definately keep it in mind if my short term search yields no result. Thanks again, it is appreciated!
  24. Marian, thanks for the suggestion! I handled the Shadow 2 @ IWA 2016 and it is a very nice gun and a nice rear sight. However, I am specifically looking for a sight that will allow both windage and elevation. I am getting frustrated that my backup gun is always a little off compared to my main gun
