  1. Yeah, that sounds very true. I remember when Eric Grauffel was asked how he got to be so consistent. His reply: "It's a choice I make". You can be as consistent as you want. The biggest danger to consistency is trying to hurry/go faster and the tension that comes with that (at least to me)
  2. Yeah, that's the cool part. There's a shop close to where I live that will tenifer a whole gun for about $60, which seems like an awesome deal. On the Hard Chrome, I have seen test results comparing HC to Tenifer, and the Tenifer is much better in withstanding rust. I have also seen quite some rust on HC guns (especially in the checkered area of the grip). The test was from a company that does both and the HC is more expensive, so I take it the test is no biased Kimber Kid, I was being sarcastic Don't worry, I won't sell it yet But P7M13's are a lot cheaper here than in the states. They usually go for under $550 used. If you ever consider one, you might want to take a look at importing one from Germany.
  3. Hi Chuck, I use SG Lite (apply it very thin) and oil it up. So a mix of SG Lite and oil I don't use the SG on the hammer though.

Paul, I am very very sorry to read this. I know there are no words that will truly ease the pain. My thoughts are with your mom and your family. Sounds like she’s a wonderful, strong woman. Hang in there…
  5. Hi Luca! Yeah, that is what I figured. The thing that made me doubt is that the half tuned one is so damned cheap (€150) and I’ll still have to fit sights, grips, safety, grip safety, dehorn the whole thing etc.) I still have a P7M13 laying around that I never use, so I’ll probably trade that one in somewhere for $400 and get them both I also intend to use them for IPSC, single stack division or standard. Doing an extra reload or two won’t hurt (I hope ) I also think I’ll be like a kid with a new box of Lego when I get my hands on one and a handful of King’s parts
  6. Merlin started a thread about buying a Norinco as a base gun for a custom project. I started looking on the net for Norincos and read nothing but good stuff in the reviews (I somehow thought they were junk). So, I decided to find one on my side of the ocean. Well, I ran into two guns. One is bone stock, used and will go across the counter for $250. The other one is “half tuned” with a new hammer, sear, trigger, guide rod and S&A magwell it is also used and costs only $175. I haven’t seen them live, just on the net, but they are still available. I want to start out with one and add some cheap parts like a grip safety, sights, safety, grips etc. My only problem is that whatever my hands touch rusts, except for stainless steel and my tenifered glock slide. So I considered having it tenifered. I am looking for experiences with aftermarket tenifer. Anyone try it? I really like the rough tenifer look on my 2nd gen Glock. And it really doesn’t rust. Anything I should be aware of? And while we’re at it, I’ll add some immediate thread drift: which one of the two guns would you get? Thanks! Bjorn
  7. you made my day TL. And to top it off, that clip is fake.
  8. That's funny because those three (especially Triumph and Bubb Rubb) are amongst my favourites. Whooo whooooooooo!!!! It's that WHOO WHOO!!!
  9. Clay, I shoot revolver and the seating of my primers goes beyond eliminating high primers you can spot with the eye. I need the primer to make contact with the part of the brass where the flash hole is. Therefor, I thought I’d better seat every primer very carefully. So I used to load on my 650, and run all the loaded rounds through my Lee autoprime. I don’t know if this is worth calling Dillon for. After all, I demand quite a lot of perfection in the primer seating. It is a common problem for revolver shooters. Magchange, I have to use Federals for the reason I shoot revolver. It is like a mandatory thing, unless I want to put another pound or two on my triggerpull. Nice solution of you to make a custom handle. Unfortunately I have not only broken 3 handles, but also the main body. I ripped off the top where the shellholder is held. I will let you know how the RCBS works out. Thanks for the advice again people! J
  10. BBoyd, yeah the reason for a hand priming tool is being able to watch DVDs while priming. Stumpnav, I heard the Sinclair is very nice, but does not have a primer feed?
  11. I think I posted this before somewhere here, but I like to keep the spur to test full clips the night before the match.
  12. Thanks guys, I'll try the RCBS. I've had good experiences with their stuff in the past. They seem to make rock solid products.
  13. Thanks for the advice guys. A 1050 doesn't fit the bill right now, but I'll see if I can tweak my 650 to prime better. I'm not th only one having this problem with the 650. A bench mounted priming tool is a great idea. Thanks for the tip. And I'll probably try the RCBS hand tool too, just to see if it's any good. Ah, you're right, I should just buy a 1050
  14. Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah, I was afraid the Lee might be my best bet. It's OK though. I'll just buy a couple and live with the 5000 round life span. Well, I knew the primer in my press might go off. It was stuck halfway into the primer pocket and I knew there were no primers in the tube. So I slooooowly forced it in and it went off. Unfortunately my 650 doesn't seat my primers deep enough to ignite 100% reliably. I figured just running them through my 650 with only the sizing die installed, and priming them afterwards would be an OK option. i could do about 10,000 in one weekend and have primed brass at hand. It also turns my 650 into a 1050, cause I don't have to prime on the upstroke anymore
  15. OK, ever since I set off a single primer in my XL650 I have been afraid reseating my primers in my loaded rounds with my Lee Autoprime. So, I'm going to size and prime the brass before I throw it in the case feeder. Anyways, I have worn out 3 Lee Autoprimes in about 1,5 years and I would like something a little more durable. To all persons with Hand Priming Tool experience.... What's the best one out there? Is the RCBS more durable? Will it prime just as good as the Lee? Thanks!
  16. Well, faster hammer drop and thus a lighter trigger pull seems to be the most common reason. The only attractive thing about it to me is that the spur is out of the way when you shoot (it hits the web of my hand every now and then) The disadvantage is that its scary to lower the hammer on a full cylinder from SA. All my revolvers still have the spur.
  17. Oh man, I had the same issues with my ex. She just couldn't believe in the concept of "It's better to have it and not need it than the other way around". Maybe you can take her out shooting sometime. I think most people are just afraid of firearms. If you take them out shooting small stuff like .22s and just have some fun on the range together, the fear part might go away. I did that with my girl and she didn't lose her standpoint so much, but just never brought up the issue again, because she liked shooting too much. She also turned way more supportive of me shooting competitions. Just bring it casually, like you don't really NEED her on the range. and let her figure out if she likes it Good luck!
  18. whow - great idea! STI Euro Open would be a pretty cool match ( I think, Jerry would like the Champaign Party )..... or German Revo Championships... what do you think Spook? and - of course, welcome Donnie! best, Sascha Hi Sascha! I told Jerry that the German Nationals had about 50 wheelgunners alone and he seemed pretty enthousiastic. I think it would be a great idea! Gruess, Bjorn Not Jerry......his brother Ah very cool! Welcome Donnie! Is Jerry still interested in shooting some matches overseas here in Europe next year? I'll ask him next time we get together Cool thanks! It would be great!

  22. Patrick, thank you very much for you post. I appreciate it very much. And judging from it, I owe you an apology. Carmoney was the one that triggered something with his thread. It made me think about my rant and how it could be interpreted. I am sorry if I made you think anything else than that I hated the fact that the line you wrote got to me. It’s not you that made me angry. And I KNOW you did not mean to hurt or offend me with it. It once again shows how writing can be a tricky medium. I will try to remind myself to refrain from posting in the Hate forums for this reason only. I'd rather keep it to myself than cause people to actually feel bad. But, as always on these forums, things get worked out and in the end we can all shoot with a smile! This place is truly great! Thanks for letting me know how Jerry feels about Ricardo's and my performance. It's great to hear "the man" considers us a potential danger Bjorn
  23. Thanks again guys. Also, I put a post in the Revolver-forum thread explaining that I do not mean to put Patrick down. It's just the text that got to me and the intention of the author doesn't really matter.
