    1 And 1 Drills

Jake what was your fastest run on this one? Just curious, cause I know you're a friggin' speed demon.
  4. Cool man! Looking forward to it. I usually only read Visier.

    1 And 1 Drills

I love the draw 1 reload 1 drill. It's cheap and lets you really work the gun. I had one of my few glory moments with this baby shooting it in 1.95 with the wheelgun (I was alone, of course...Murphy's Law ) A great drill to learn to relax and just be focussed.
  7. I never understood the function of a triggerstop. The hammer release is what makes the shot, not the moment after the trigger pull (over travel). To me it always looked like the trigger stop could actually throw your shots off, because any flaw in trigger control during the over-travel phase would be directly transferred to the gun. But I'm prolly just a dumb SOB
  8. Yeah, the setback makes sense. There would have to be a tight fit between case and recoil shield. I knew there would be a catch. I doubt it's any different with clipped guns. I can still "rattle" the rounds in my 625 around pretty good. 27 and 28's are dirt cheap here in Holland. The can be had from $200-300 all day long. Too bad I haven't found a nice 8 3/8" model.
  9. This idea came to me a couple of minutes ago and I was wondering if it's doable. If you rechamber the cylinder of a 6-shot model 27, 28 or 627 to .357SIG, and cut down the cylinder so it will accept the M610 clips, you could have a pretty cool all-round blaster for various disciplines. Flat shooting, high power, easy reloading with the small 9mm bullets and the 10mm holes. No need to rebarrel... You could even reload with 125grain .357 bullets for accuracy. M27's can be had fo' cheap almost everywhere. Brass is cheap. Reloading is more of a pain than other calibers, but still... Think it can be done?
  10. I almost always dry fire without a timer. It's great to smooth out the movements. I think a timer is important though. The timer is a great tool to work on "time management". It will show you how relaxed you can be to perform a certain action within a certain time limit. As people here often say: feeling fast doesn't necessarily mean being fast
  11. Only the Norwegians, Swedes, Danes, some Fins and Icelanders are Vikings. We just make cheese, together with the Swiss
  12. Just my 2cts, but I'd rather go with a 1911/2011 than the Tanfoglio/EEA. True, Grauffel uses one, but he says it's only because of the size of his hands (the grip is smaller). Also, I have seen many, many, real problems with the EEA/Tanfo guns. Substantially more than with 1911/2011 models. With the huge amount of 1911 parts and few EEA parts in the US, I would take the easy choice. Again, just my observations and 2cts.
  13. don't worry, I'm used to it Somehow US-citizens mix Denmark and the Netherlands up all the time
  14. It got the Danish in "trouble", not the Dutch. Apperantly a couple of muslims got very pissed. I guess you could see that one coming from a mile away... I didn't find the cartoons very funny actually (not because they were provocative, though I must admit that I don't really like jokes with a primary goal other than being funny), but to react as if your world collapses... I would just shrug and move on, but I guess I would not be a good fanatic in any kind of religion
  15. 22oz. empty 32oz. loaded
  16. Happy B-Day guys! Hop, how's the arm? Hope it will be a better year
  17. No way man! Why? If I can learn to shave off .30 seconds x 4 movements on every long course I'd be glad to learn how and discuss various techniques. Time to dig in on this subject
  18. Ron, I am actually scared to get started in Open just because of what you wrote. I have seen soooo few reliable Open guns compared to Production guns, Revolvers and Limited guns. Hell, I have seen Saul Kirsch having 4 major jams at the four longest courses of the Europeans two years ago (cost him about 20 seconds!). Even Eric Grauffel has a jam at every big match. And to these guys money isn't an issue But, that being said, I know a couple of people who have guns that will run and run and run. It can be done Just hang in there and get it fixed
  19. I am definately going to play with this. All the shooting stuff that has been discussed here is great, but I don't recall any in depth analytical movement discussions (though I'm just blurting this out right now). There is so much time to win with movement. It might be time to analyze it I know I've spent waaaay to little time on this subject
  20. - Brian's Book. No need to explain that one. - Mind Gym. It really is the athlete's Mental Chicken Soup (nice metaphor DP) - The Inner Game of Golf. I liked it better than the Tennis version. Golf relates to shooting and this book is written in a more mature comprehensive way. - With Winning in Mind. Great theory. I shot some of my best matches after reading it and applying the stuff in the book. I do however find it hard to have the discipline to follow "the rules" - Tao Te Ching. For overall peace of mind
  21. I think the interchangable backstrap allows you to have a "regular" GLock grip.
  22. This is not really a solid argument in this discussion, but I checked Eric Grauffel's DVDs last night. I couldn't find one cross-step in both DVD's. Now, I'm not saying that this means the described technique is not as good because the current World Champ doesn't use it, but Eric is a guy who knows his stuff when it comes to movement in a stage... If I got this all wrong please excuse me. This thread needs pictures!
  23. To lube cases, I fill the casefeeder of my 650, spray a little of whichever gunoil I have on my hands and mix the brass up with the oil on my hand. I have found no big differences between different kinds of oil/lube. I leave it on the cases with no ill effects so far (20K rounds of .45 and 9mm)
