  1. The "new" M&P followers need to modified for the mag to seat correctly on closed slide reloads with 10 round mags. You can leave the mags loaded for an eternity and it won't solve the problem. Thread on NES
  2. The 40 Pro still hasn't sold enough to be approved for production. I just started shooting one in L10.
  3. Hodgdon Data Center has 125gr FMJ 4.4gr-4.8gr. The data center is my first place to look for Winchester & Hodgdon powder starting loads.
  4. I was quoted 3 months, 2 1/2 months ago. I'll let you know when I get mine. Mike contacted me today, mine should be shipped out next week. That works out to 5 1/2 month wait. It is arriving just in time, after A7 last week I'm switching to L10.
  5. For a little more than half the money buy an sti Spartan 9mm. Spend the extra money on mags and ammo.
  6. I have one in my 442. It has gone bang every time (Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel & reloads). The trigger is MUCH better than stock.
  7. Most people I know that shoot IDPA SSR, ICORE, or steel use 158gr Berry's RN. I used to use 158gr BBI's but they don't appear to sell them anymore and I had issues with chambers getting gummed up really quick. After I started using MG CMJ's for 9mm and asked if they would ever offer CMJ RN bullet for .38/.357. They suggested I try the 142gr FMJ, but I haven't got around to it.
  8. When I double plug I make 100% sure that what I hear is the make ready command. Last week I was double plugged and on 4 or 5 out of 6 stages I turned around, looked at the RO, and said "Did you say make ready?, I'm double plugged and can't hear you".
  9. It's fine for SSP, it's not (yet) approved for production. Under SSP Rules: EXCLUDED Modifications (NON-Inclusive list): 1. Externally visible modifications other than grips or sights. 2. Robar style grip reduction. 3. Add-on magazine well opening. 4. Guide rods made of a material different from the factory part it replaces. 5. Seattle Slug Grip Plug and similar weighted products. 20 6. A barrel of another caliber that is not offered in the original factory model. 7. Slide lightening (see “slide, lightening” in glossary for further information). 8. Checkering and stippling. 9. Refer to Appendix ONE-A. Firearms-Non-IDPA-Legal Modifications. Please clarify as this seems to indicate that if your weapons serial number does not match the caliber it was offered in the original factory model then it is illegal. So a conversion from 40 to 9 would be illegal. I read it that he was planning on shooting his M&P 40 Pro with 40 loaded minor, not using a conversion barrel.
  10. It's fine for SSP, it's not (yet) approved for production.
  11. I was quoted 3 months, 2 1/2 months ago. I'll let you know when I get mine.
  12. I give any S&B or NATO stamped 9mm to my friend who has a 1050.
  13. I put the stock trigger return spring back in mine.
  14. BS. Since no reloads are required/allowed in BUG stages I can't imagine how it could matter. I know a guy who shoots a 3" S&W 625 in bug matches.
  15. I recently did some testing with 180gr Berrys FP & titegroup with my new M&P 40 Pro. I started low (4.0gr) and worked up. I ended up with 4.5gr 173PF avg (170PF min). I was using 1.14" OAL. Like you I've loaded lots of 9 mm & .38spl but I'm new to 40. If you look through a lot of the posts here make sure you check OAL. A majority of the 40 loads are loaded long for 1911/2011's.
  16. FMJ, plated or lead? What length barrel?
  17. I've been happy with my Dawson 9mm mags with my STI Spartan. I'm not sure who makes the tubes but they work great with their no-gap magwell.
  18. They should be calibrated to .38 special at 105PF.
  19. Depends on the game: most of them I'd agree with you, IDPA doesn't give you the option. FWIW my M&P9 full size and M&P9 Pro slam release 90-95% of the time. I can't recall a time when a round wasn't chambered. I'm ashamed to say I have myself of on video slamming the base pad again rather than racking the slide when it didn't go forward from seating the mag.
  20. Just bring a S&W547 to the chrono. (No I don't own one, but I know a guy who does. I don't think he'd let me shoot 9 major out of it though)
