  1. I already talked to my area director on Saturday at his clubs multi-gun match. On Friday I picked up a 627PC
  2. I bought one recently and I really like it. I had a 550b mounted with a regular handle and loaded sitting down. I upgraded to a 650 with a strong mount and a roller handle and found myself bending over to get the handle all the way down. I felt like goldilocks: press was too tall to sit down and too low to stand up. I bought the inline fabrication ergo roller handle and it is just right. No more leaning over to get the full travel. It was well worth the money for me.
  3. I've placed my order for 5" 627 PC and have been lobbying my area director every time I see him . I even lobbied the NROI director after I found out he didn't get a vote at Area 7 this weekend.
  4. Already ordered another weigand. Plus I see no sights on the apex site I think you have to call them. That's how I got the two I have. When I contacted them in late June I got the following response:
  5. Yes, I've noticed that too. 95% of my fail to case gauge 9mm rounds were due to issues with extractor nicks on the case rim. After I got a Case Pro and roll size all my brass those went away
  6. Looked great on my 42" TV, thanks for posting. I've got to get back into revolver and make it to this match one of these days.
  7. If Chris Patty has it in stock he will get it out to you quick. Send him an e-mail and ask if he has it in stock.
  8. I use a ready tactical DOH for M&P40 Pro.
  9. I don't think revolver supply carries any K or L frame 6-shot (they do carry L-frame 7 shot). I think 10mmdave uses 6-shot L-frame ones he got from Brownells, not sure who makes them. I wasn't able to find them on Brownells website.
  10. I shot lots of precision black bullets and berry's and never had any issues with setback. It wasn't until I switched to montana gold and ran across some FC brass that I had problems. My final solution was to run a Dillon sizing die in station 1 and a u-die in station 2 on my 650.
  11. It's great to have a company that makes great equipment AND stands behind it. I haven't had a chance to live fire with my new brass magwell. I loved the old ESP aluminium one and appreciate the extra weight of the brass one.
  12. I just installed my new style brass L10 SSS magwell last night (replacing my old style alum ESP one). Having it screw into the backstrap piece is so much easier than driving the pin in. I was surprised that there is nothing holding the backstrap piece in. We'll see if it stays in place.
  13. Rob & Dave thanks to both of you for all your hard work in the past and in the future.
  14. It would probably be a wise decision to get a ruling from NROI/Amidon before it becomes an issue at a match.
  15. Is this Production legal? It would seem to violate Appendix D4 22 Specifically prohibited modifications and features Disabling of any external safety or externally operated safety.
  16. Bingo. That's what I did with mine. The snagging drove me crazy with the competition trigger return spring. I swapped the stock spring back. The trigger is slightly heavier but overall I like it better.

  18. If you look at northeastshooters.com you'll find multiple threads on this. Those of us in MA have been having to deal with this for a few years. I thought that this was only an issue in 9mm. Unfortunately they did a similar thing to the 40 mags. The two mags I got with my .40 gun were fine (old follower/spring). The 6 that picked up last spring needed to have the follower and spring trimmed.
  19. I'm glad to hear that. I'm really close to pulling the trigger on a 650. I'm glad it is not just me. The desire to start loading .223/5.56 is what has pushed me to look at a 650 or pulling the case feeder off the 550. I do wonder how much this has to do with the fact that the 550 uses the same shell plate for 9mm and 40. I didn't have nearly as much of a problem with the 9mm as I do with .40. You definitely have to loosen the plate to get 40 to slide under it and it makes it a little floppy. I wonder if they made dedicated .40 shell plate that is sized correctly. I don't think the 650 and 1050 share the same plate between 9mm/.40.
  20. I could never get .40 to run well on the 550 with the case feeder. It worked well with .38spl, ok with 9mm, and pretty bad with .40. I tried loosening, tightening, and polishing the shell plate. Nothing really helped. I think the biggest problem is that the 550 case feeder was an add on, it wasn't designed for it from the beginning. There isn't enough meat around the 2 holes in the "lower feeder assembly" where it attaches to the "platform assembly". If a case misfeeds and smashes into the sizing die it puts tremendous force into the lower feeder assembly. It gets bent and then feeding problems get worse. I've had to take mine apart to bend it back several times. Today I loaded 700 rounds of .40 with the case feeder. It was maddening, about 1 out of every 3 or 4 cases would misfeed. You'd have to fiddle with the case to get it to feed. I finally took the case feeder completely off and loaded another 300 rounds. Once I got back into the rhythm I was able to go faster than the with the misfeeding case feeder. I'm torn between running the 550 w/o the casefeeder or upgrading to 650.
  21. PERMITTED Modifications (Inclusive list): 2. Grips may be changed to another style or material that is similar to factory configuration (no weighted grips; see “weighted grips” in glossary for further details). EXCLUDED Modifications (NON-Inclusive list): 1. Externally visible modifications other than grips or sights. http://idpaforum.yuk...get#reply-34474
  22. You can stipple the removable back straps in SSP. You can't stipple the frame in SSP. (At least in the current rule book )
  23. Did you install an APEX RAM? If want a more positive reset and haven't installed one it is the solution.
  24. That will help, but it may not always seat reliably. If you can find any old followers you can swap them out. My primary 8 competition mags have old followers that I scavenged from my compact mags. My backups have modified "new" followers. Don't worry about screwing up the followers by modifying them. You can buy extras at MidwayUSA for a couple bucks each.
