If you're thinking of going the suppressed route, then look into the brake attach suppressors and go with whichever manufacturer you're getting your can from. I know both the SilencerCo and AWC brakes are very effective while you're waiting on the suppressor paperwork to go through.

6-9" Harris, swivel with leg notches will get it done 90% of the time. I keep a 9-13" in my pack just for the rare occasion that the 6-9 isn't enough.

If one click = 1/4 moa, then yes. Whether or not your scope clicks are really 1/4 moa is something you'll have to test.
-
No, that's not correct. Your scope is labelled as 1 click = 1/4 moa, not 1 click = 1 moa. Your chart above lists 1 moa at each distance. As stated above, you don't. Each click is .25 moa. Therefore, .8 moa would require 3 clicks.
-
OK so 1 click at 100 = 1/4 of 1.047 Yes, that is correct. 1 click is .26" at 100yds, .52" @ 200, 1.047"@400, etc. edit....Thanks Stlhead, you caught my typo!

MOA is an angular measurement equal to 1/60th of a degree, not a linear measurement. At 100 yds, it's 1.047" so at 400 yds 1moa=4.188". 3.3moa x 4.188" = 13.8". My advice would be to stop thinking about things in terms of clicks and inches. If your drop chart says you need 7.1moa, just dial 7moa on your turret and let er rip. Don't make things more complicated by trying to count clicks and stuff.

I have used both powders in both 9 and 40, but much prefer n320 in both.

The 9# recoil spring and 17# mainspring has worked well in the 3 Spartans I've had. I took the stock springs out as soon as the gun showed up so I'm honestly not sure what rate they are. As for the triggers, I just tuned up the factory parts. They are really a good gun for the price.

If you're talking about the 980fps stuff, yeah I've tried it. Unfortunately it wouldn't run the wife's FN SLP or my Benelli M2. Was hilarious to shoot though and would be awesome in a pump gun!

I'm no Travis Gibson, but for anyone wanting to sharpen up their LR rifle skills I'll be bringing a few pieces of steel and will be available in the evenings after the match for some training if anyone is interested. Either come see me at Stage 9 (CRO there), or shoot me an email at jlr@rbrosrifles.com if you're interested. Scratch that plan, apparently the 1k range is being used by the black powder shooters.

Not a Glock, but 2.9gr loaded to 1.14 shoots pretty good and was around 130pf in my XDM 5.25
-
Just do this^ ..... I've seen it and am suitably impressed.

I run mine down at 3.9gr of either titegroup or n320 with the 180 MG jhp for 3gun. It's pretty mellow although I haven't ran it over a chrony. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk

Looks like the man says #6 is max shot size, so in my best Asian accent...................no buckshot fo you! -
Mondays after matches are the worst for me! It seems to take me a few days to get my mind off shooting. Good thing I can't afford to shoot many matches or else I'd never get anything done at work!!

Chameleon Load-Two belt - what size?
R-Bros_JLR replied to Chris1522's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
Thought I'd chime in here as another data point. I ran the 28 round Chameleon belt back when I was a 32 waist without any issues. The last couple clips on the edges are a little tricky to get to, but definitely manageable. -
I have ran both the Tripp and the Dawson in several Spartans I've had. The Tripps were my favorite, but both worked well.

This was the first classifier I ever shot, and was at the first USPSA match I ever went to back in Dec 2010. I shot it in 12.07 with all my points for a 8.28HF and a whopping 49%! Thanks for bringing this up, I kind of want to set it up and shoot it again now to see if anything's changed.

Semis rule. If you dont have one or can't borrow one locally, see if there's one in your squad you can borrow. This^ ... I run a bolt gun pretty fair, and my time after the bonus was just about the same as my raw time before I started shooting the bonus targets. Any decent long range semi auto (bigger than 5.56) will definitely help out when shooting the bonus targets. The targets as I recall were around 600, 700, and 9 something. Wind was also ripping about 20 when I shot it last, just to make things interesting. -
147 Bayou and 3.0g of N320 is just under 900 fps out of my XDm 5.25. 2.9g of Titegroup was pretty much identical velocity, but seemed to have a little harsher recoil. These are loaded at 1.140"

Broughton offers all of those twists in their standard lineup with the exception of the 12 twist .338, which I'm not sure why you'd want that one. A normal 10 twist will work fine for the 250s.

Shooter is a great option for both Android and Apple platforms.

We've shot a few rounds of 6.5x47. Our standard load is 42.2gr of H4350 with a 130 Berger. If I were you, I'd start around 40-41gr of H4350 and work up from there as there are a few different reamers out there and pressure can jump a lot in that little case. 6.5x47 is a great cartridge, probably one of the easiest ones to load for.
